This old-timer thanks BET for televising this and having Joss on the tribute show. I saw Aretha's entire career, and, yes, she IS The Queen of Soul. James Brown was The King. Joss Stone is, IMHO, the best singer in the business today ... one of the all-time greats ... in the very first rank. Soul is about feeling ... not about color. Janis Joplin said that 40 years ago. She was right. Anybody can have soul. I honor black artists. Dig deep into my faves and see for yourself. Joss!!!
Joss grew up listening to her parents Aretha albums....those were only influences in music growing up, so it was only natural that she has so much soul, I love Joss! I wish people would stop saying she's trying to be black....she's not, she's just an outstanding artist, with an outstanding soulful voice!!

(I love Aretha so much, she's amazing) it seems like an "arrogant" look she's giving Joss... very unfair in my opinion... If I were there, listening to such a talented young girl singing one of my songs, I'd be thrilled, and people would be able to tell that... ;)
