Baby Blues and Postpartum Depression/Anxiety is real. I went through the latter and it was not fun and I had to take medication to balance out my hormones and it made that journey so much better for me. I’m praying you’re able to give yourself grace because you are a new women now even if you look the same/better your body is completely different. It’s all new. I just turned 25 this yr & my son turned 3 in September. As a first time, young mother myself, I completely relate to you all the way. Postpartum didn’t hit me until my son was 18 months. I was a single mom, never been depressed before & was so lost & scared when it happened. I was scared to even tell anyone that I was going through it at first. BUT GOD, literally carried me & is still carrying me through. My village has also been there every single step of the way & w/o them I have no clue how I would’ve made it. Also, becoming a mommy is the most beautiful, yet challenging thing we can go through as women. We literally go from having that pre-baby body, that turnt up/ fun life style, & independence to now a completely new life & body. Even though our bodies don’t look the way they did before, I’ve learned to appreciate the mom body. We literally carried LIFE. God blessed our bodies to be able to bring HIS creation into the world. you got this mama! you are so beautiful, loving & doing this so graciously. make sure to give yourself grace & make time for MOMMY. a lot of times we get so caught up in the baby that we neglect ourselves. I pray that the comfort of God dwells w/in you at all times & gives you peace that surpasses all understanding ❤️

Aww Deiondra, it makes me sad to see you sad. Postpartum was a very dark time for me and you’re right, no one gets it. Telling you how awesome you are can sometimes feel equivalent to “get it over with.” It’s joy and grief sharing the same space and you just hope you like who you have to grow into on the other side. What worked for me was going home for two weeks. My dad cooked, my step mom did our laundry, my siblings passed around the baby. Once I too got the nurturing I needed…then I returned home to that man full enough to try to be a new mom and a partner 😂. It’s a lot girl! We’re with you! ❤
From a Dad, that's your Dad's age. Know that being a mom is a gift from God. Also, take time for yourself & communicate that to your fiancee & allow him to assist you. Y'all are parents it shouldn't be all on the mom. Be encouraged & know that you are blessed.

Thanks for sharing Deiondra. Snow seems a little fussy, it reminds me a lot of my daughter. I realized that she had reflux. Does he fart a lot or seem extra fussy or uncomfortable/rigid/tense when he’s laying flat? Does he settle when you hold him upright? If so, try letting him sit upright for a bit after he eats and burps and giving him some gas drops and bicycle kicking his legs. I usually NEVER offer unsolicited advice so please don’t be offended. I just had a legit flashback and Deja Vu moment. My daughter had silent reflux and behaved the same way. It was so hard trying to figure things out. I cried A LOT (thanks postpartum anxiety and postpartum depression) and was overwhelmed. Once we realized what was going on it became an easier journey. PS- you’re doing great as a new Momma. You also look amazing!! You’ll get to your new normal eventually. Be gentle with yourself dear!

I had support from my family but they still couldn't understand. It probably would've helped me cope differently. Thankful to God I made it through!

I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old and I’m still thinking back about how I was before motherhood. 😂 But most importantly I’m happy to be a mommy so when it gets tough I just reflect, pray, and thank the Lord for my babies. Also, becoming a mommy is the most beautiful, yet challenging thing we can go through as women. We literally go from having that pre-baby body, that turnt up/ fun life style, & independence to now a completely new life & body. Even though our bodies don’t look the way they did before, I’ve learned to appreciate the mom body. We literally carried LIFE. God blessed our bodies to be able to bring HIS creation into the world. you got this mama! you are so beautiful, loving & doing this so graciously. make sure to give yourself grace & make time for MOMMY. a lot of times we get so caught up in the baby that we neglect ourselves. I pray that the comfort of God dwells w/in you at all times & gives you peace that surpasses all understanding ❤️

Aww Deiondra, it makes me sad to see you sad. Postpartum was a very dark time for me and you’re right, no one gets it. Telling you how awesome you are can sometimes feel equivalent to “get it over with.” It’s joy and grief sharing the same space and you just hope you like who you have to grow into on the other side. What worked for me was going home for two weeks. My dad cooked, my step mom did our laundry, my siblings passed around the baby. Once I too got the nurturing I needed…then I returned home to that man full enough to try to be a new mom and a partner 😂. It’s a lot girl! We’re with you! ❤

From a Dad, that's your Dad's age. Know that being a mom is a gift from God. Also, take time for yourself & communicate that to your fiancee & allow him to assist you. Y'all are parents it shouldn't be all on the mom. Be encouraged & know that you are blessed.

I felt the same way she feels being a new mom. It gets better but that feeling last as well. 21 months since birth and I’m still trying to find my way. It’s a lonely place, but with God it gets better . ❤

I’m married and I have a great husband but no matter what you feel alone and it’s a feeling that no one will understand until they go through it. Thanks for sharing Deiondra. Snow seems a little fussy, it reminds me a lot of my daughter. I realized that she had reflux. Does he fart a lot or seem extra fussy or uncomfortable/rigid/tense when he’s laying flat? Does he settle when you hold him upright? If so, try letting him sit upright for a bit after he eats and burps and giving him some gas drops and bicycle kicking his legs. I usually NEVER offer unsolicited advice so please don’t be offended. I just had a legit flashback and Deja Vu moment. My daughter had silent reflux and behaved the same way. It was so hard trying to figure things out. I cried A LOT (thanks postpartum anxiety and postpartum depression) and was overwhelmed. Once we realized what was going on it became an easier journey.
PS- you’re doing great as a new Momma. You also look amazing!! You’ll get to your new normal eventually. Be gentle with yourself dear!

But don't be afraid to seek therapy if you need it. I wish I had that as a resource during my time. I had support from my family but they still couldn't understand. It probably would've helped me cope differently. Thankful to God I made it through!

This is your new normal… you won’t feel the same because you aren’t the same. You are a beautiful mother now so you have to slowly find your new normal. I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old and I’m still thinking back about how I was before motherhood. 😂
But most importantly I’m happy to be a mommy so when it gets tough I just reflect, pray, and thank the Lord for my babies.
