This actually makes sense clowkwerk being young because sly goes back in time so clockwerk would be younger and in each episode it looks like he is looking for you then in the final one he has found you and is just staring at you
I don't know why, but Clockwork always seemed like one of the best villains In almost all fiction to me. I mean it's one thing to swear vengance against you, but to hate someone so much that they not only turn their flesh and blood body to a mechanical abomination to kill them, but then become immortal solely to hunt down their heirs and wipe out every cooper for enternity. I mean he made his body a killing machine, every time in Sly 2 when he talks about how each clockwork part is designed for a certain function, I can just feel the hatered he had for the coopers.
You know, I always wondered who took those photos of the ancestors and Clockwerk that we see in the thievious raccoonus in Sly 1, but now I get it, it was the cooper gang taking those pictures during the events of this game
Unless they mess around with time travel again, the only way I can see Clockwerk coming back as the main villain is if they did the scenario where he downloaded his mind onto a computer chip/disc/flash drive/ etc. and then uploaded it onto a new body in order to further his plans for revenge (or use one of the mech-eggs from Arpeggio's ship from Sly 2 & have a "Son of Clockwerk")
Clockwork also appears in a cutscene while you eaves drop on two guards that say there is nothing but bread and wood in the bakery. Top right corner of it.
True, because he did say: You Coopers always find a way to beat me. When Clockwerk said "always" he's always in the backgrounds in the pictures in Theivius Racoonus.
I have a theory maybe clockwork is in the future and didn't kill Sly's family and one of them ruined his life and then he went back in time to study the Cooper's then he killed everybody but sly knowing how the Cooper's work only to be defeated by sky and Carmelita.
Hey, i found this in the Demo of the game. At some point, if you look closely from a window, you can see some of the villains that appear later in the game.
This Easter egg is disturbing because there are 2 interpretations Either clockwork was just that smart for a cave owl, realized that there is a mysterious cooper hopping through time to the exact places where equally mysterious foreigners appear and the only reason he failed in sly 1 was because of his pride Or someone possibly Penelope decide to recreate him and use the copy to warn away the coopers from areas they've claimed or even hoping to see if the methods clockwerk used was viable and planning to use it on themselves and Penelope might just have enough hat for the coopers to do just that, for all we know those mass produced machines in England were her testing out such technology And let's not mention the fact that a part of clockwerk apparently survived, the only reason the villains would have it is if penelope was studying the damned thing and gave it to grizz for safe keeping once she was done, leaving me to wonder what else survived his destruction because his parts as can be seen are powerful and dangerous The only question I have is did riochi came before or after interactions between the east and Europe was possible if so it could be a hint that clockwerk was born in ice age Europe possibly Ps I sincerely hope it is the former because contemplating Penelope becoming the new clock week is disturbing all on its own because Penelope won't have the same compunctions as clockwerk in focusing only on the coopers
Cool idea but I personally think the clockwerk has time travel from the beginning. It’s possible that after defeat in sly 1 clockwerk maybe found a way to go to a different time line. There is no way clockwerk naturally existed in the prehistoric era especially with robotic parts
Clockwerk in this game is nonsensical. The shrunken size, the way he looks (he looks like a damn prop) and the fact one of his EYES is a safe treasure here!? I also agree with the thing about him being unable to make a metal body for himself back in the Stone Age, though I have my own (crazy) theory forming around that.
Everyone's talking about how creepy Clockwerk is, meanwhile I'm wondering why tf Sly couldn't give his ancestors the heads up about the creature that was going to kill them in the next few years.
if that is clockwerk then Ya he looks different he likely keeps changing himself over years with newest technology to keep himself going his chip was key part but a key part only as good as the entire body itself but fact he was in age of Dinosaur alive like that rases a lot of questions feel this easter egg might be more than an easter egg
Clockwork he's in a different time. I'm pretty sure he had to upgrade and change pieces of his armor from time to time so I'm pretty sure he would look different in different time eras

spikeharusame Try Omega royally. He also would have never met his love Carmelita fox, in addition to Bently an Murray. So i agree with most people that as you went back, he should have been more organic in like the ice age or the japanese timeline, but i was hoping to see him at some point in this game because i had the thought "wait, sly killed him recently as in only 2 years ago maximum, so wouldn't he be alive for like galeth or Tennessee?" Clockwerk really WAS hunting the Cooper clan for millenia... ever since the ICE AGE too, until Sly FINALLY ended him for good in Sly 2 where the hate chip was destroyed. Even then, Bentley's crippled state is a constant reminder of Clockwerk, ensuring that his presence, in a way, is throughout the entire series. "You will never be rid of me!" In a weird, twisted way, he's *right.*
I find this so creepy, I love Clockwerk so much (mostly because hes a combination of two of my favorite things, machines and birds XD) but this is terrifying. I love everything about him from the backstory to his motive but it's so creepy staring at him, especially in Arabia because hes looking directly at you! Now I feel like someone's watching me
With the revelation that Clockwerk has been around long, long before the Thevius Raccoonus was ever written, that pretty much tells me that this big metal owl is no mere rival, Clockwerk is the Cooper Family's Angel of Death. I'm sure there's some mundane Time Travel reason for why he's seen as far back as the Ice Age, but just seeing him THAT far back in the family's history makes it seem like there is no explanation for how he got his cybernetic body. He just _always was._ like he was just... one day _willed into existence_ to hunt this one clan as eternal punishment for all their thieving...
What an interesting theory. To say Clockwerk was born, or perhaps made mechanical and his soul purpose is to haunt the Cooper Clan just makes him so much cooler in my opinion
It would've been cool to see Clockwerk in varying stages of turning himself into a robot throughout all of these, like only just starting with his wings in the Stone Age and later nearing completion in the Old West while developing the Hate Chip.
I like this, Funny if never seen it. some of these locations are just so obvious. Also this easter egg idea is amazing because clockwork is still alive in this time.
+Mr Lickems That is so cool. It's also kind of creepy in a way. It's like, wherever you go, ClockWerk is there somewhere just...watching you. It's like he's a camera. Plus, it's almost like he represents that old saying: Big Brother is always watching! I love developers who put hidden Easter eggs in their games. It's the little things that make it even bigger and better!
Clockwerk was jealous of watching racoons stealing in hundred years ago. Some of racoons do not notice they are been watched, but at least Tennessee Kid saw that 1:16 during the mission.
Ah, I've been wondering where these Easter Eggs were! I fucking LOVE Clokwerk! Favourite Sly Cooper villain bar none! Now that I see them, I wonder why he is robotic in the prehistoric era? Plays into my potential theory, though...
The reason why Clockwerk was there in those times was becuz if anyone remembers in Sly 1, Clockwerk was in the pages of the theives. He was a shadow and was there in their times. So Clockwerk was killed in 2 from the hate chip that was destroyed. So I dont think that thats the future Clockwerk becuz he was already killed by Sly in 2.
That would mean Bob already had his children and all the others as well. Weird they didn't mention it. Well, it is an Easter egg, doesn't have to be cannon since we change the past... (or did we?)
It could mean that he does confront the ancestor, however he did say when he faced sly that the cooper clan always found a way to beat him, so they probably avoided him or beat him into the dirt.
Bruh, when I saw Clockwerk, at first I thought, "Oh, this is him spying on the Cooper Gang before he brutally murders them." That is, until I saw him at the Ice Age level. My thoughts then were "Oh shit, someone repaired Clockwerk and rebuilt his Hate Chip, oh lord!"
What exactly do you mean? Clockwerk was pretty clearly stated to have initially been a normal fleshy owl but replaced his organic body in order become immortal so he can eventually wipe out the Coopers.
@@InquisitorThomas he was quite advanced in technology in a world where time machines can exist; if these cameos are canon, the only explanation of his robotic self being as far back as the ice age being that he time traveled back to study the Coopers in their prime.
In the mission Hard Target, Clockwerk is actually still on the same clocktower. And can I just ask just how clockwerk had his robot parts IN THE ICE AGE!?
it's not confusing at all, sly only killed the future version of clockwerk (after turning himself into a full on robotand the past version is alive and well in the current era (at the earliest since this is where time travel firest could have feasibly occured thanks to paradox's machine. Clockwerk's past self is still alive and well possibly in sly's time (before he became a robot) he started time travelling i nan attempt to kill the cooper family but constantly failed returning to the present to periodically replace his aging organic parts with robotics until nothingf of clockwerks biological body was left. The few instances we see clockwerk in the past are after he fully converted himself into a robot, even in the ice age.
Now I've never played a Sly Cooper game, but I think its cool how Clockwerk is in Sly 4 since in Sly 1,he said that he was always watching but was never quick enough to kill the Cooper's,referring back to Sly 1 how Clockwerk's figure is seen in the pictures of the Cooper ancestors
Well they are indeed like clockwerk but a smaller version, so what I can think is : do you remember the eggs in Sly 2? In Arpeggio's airship, are they maybe connected?
That would've been a thousand times better. Le Paradox working the Cooper clan's ancient enemy, would've been great way to better explain Clockwerk's origin.
I have a theory. What if Clockwerk was created sometime after the ice age when metal was available, and le paradox went back in time before sly killed him and helped him time travel back to 10,000 BC? They both wanted to destroy the Cooper line.
No surprise to see him honestly. After all, we do know that he's an "ancient nemesis of the cooper clan" so he hasn't been destroyed yet in any of the time periods we see him in. But it does make me wonder how it's possible to have Clockwerk's eye as a treasure if he is active throughout the game.
Better yet why one of the eyes? Also if it’s post sly 2 the thing should be rusted away If it is pre sly 2 than it should be causeing time rifts since the contessa should have it. And if it’s before that The cops should still have it in the museum
He should have been organic in most of his appearances and he shouldn't have even been in the stone age level. While its nice that Sanzaru Games was trying to do a call back they seem like weren't paying close attention to the backstory of the first game.
this would've been so much better if he would've started off as normal in the ice age, and as he'd go on to later periods become more and more cyborg, ending up as completely robotic in Paris
I love the theory that Penelope played some role in Clockwork's machinery. It sounds so legit, especially if you notice that his design is way more simple here than in Sly. Its almost as if he just threw some metal on. He won't get his more complex build till later.
Actually, I don't think that is Clockwerk himself. but rather his "Owl Bots" that were an enemy type in the first game. I wager they acted like drones to spy for him (which they are clearly doing in Sly 4.)
This is soo cool. I love that you went through all of them instead of just showing like a single still. The fact that Clockwerk's seen in the background of this game gives off such an ominous vibe
Oh and clockwerks redesign... i hate it. he's suppose to be this monstrous embodiement of hate bent on ... familicide who over the centuries grew numb to everything but killing coopers but here he's just a rotund watch owl he should be giant imposing and if he see you looking should glare at you heck make a mission where he call la paradox pathetic and we'll all be happy
That's kind of an unsettling Easter egg..
He should have been organic in the stone age level.
He shouldn't have been there in the first place.
I think he is a little
Maybe Sly isn't the only one hopping through time.
And I don't think there is perfect looking owl in the stone age.

Even then, Bentley's crippled state is a constant reminder of Clockwerk, ensuring that his presence, in a way, is throughout the entire series. "You will never be rid of me!" In a weird, twisted way, he's *right.*
well now that sly is traveling in time and how Clockwork is observing them from each time era clockwork is probaly seeing something odd
Clockwerk's eye, which Sly has, is still working. It's a sign that Clockwerk isn't gone for good and possibly Neyla isn't either.
I really hope they make a sequel, I mean they us hanging with that ending in ancient Egypt.
Want more irony: The *Clock* tower has two wooden *Owl* panel and there actual *Owl* flying around it.
It would've been cool to see Clockwerk in varying stages of turning himself into a robot throughout all of these, like only just starting with his wings in the Stone Age and later nearing completion in the Old West while developing the Hate Chip.
the hate chip would of been one of the first components created, without it he would of deteriorated loong before what you claim would of occurred.
I like this, Funny if never seen it. some of these locations are just so obvious. Also this easter egg idea is amazing because clockwork is still alive in this time.
Clockwork was an owl? I thought he was supposed to be some hind of hawk, or eagle
+Clockwork “Gamma” Ultranicon Wow, Your Named Clockwork.....THE FUCKLING IIIIIIRONY
He was classified as a Eurasian-Eagle Owl
He’s an Eurasian Eagle Owl. I got the source from the Sly Cooper wiki.
you forgot about the clockwerk eye treasure.
fenni ken not an easter egg dude.
HOO-DIIIINIIIII
POO DIINIII
Clockwerk the Hoo-DINI! Vanoss lol
Clockwerk, I'm not insulting you, but this version of Clockwerk is cuter. Because owls are cute and beautiful.
Clockwerk was jealous of watching racoons stealing in hundred years ago. Some of racoons do not notice they are been watched, but at least Tennessee Kid saw that 1:16 during the mission.
For those saying he shouldn't be made of metal in some timelines...
Ya'll seriously think Bentley is the only one with Time Travel madness?
Exactly
"Really hope hes the villain in the next one"
Ouch
Geoffrey Adams guys what about the mechanical eggs on appergio's blimp ?
So if anything those are past clockwerks, since practically all of Sly 4 is in times before the first game?
Carmalita killed him,clockla,and neyla
Bruh, when I saw Clockwerk, at first I thought, "Oh, this is him spying on the Cooper Gang before he brutally murders them." That is, until I saw him at the Ice Age level. My thoughts then were "Oh shit, someone repaired Clockwerk and rebuilt his Hate Chip, oh lord!"
Seeing him being metallic in the past brings his immortality into question, assuming these cameos are canon.
And can I just ask just how clockwerk had his robot parts IN THE ICE AGE!?
supahshadow9 Same reason El Jefe ended up in Ancient Japan, etc.
SqueekyBeanz El Jefe was alive when he went back in time. Clockwork ceased to exist after Sly 2
supahshadow9 But, he is in places and times that occurred BEFORE the events of Sly 1 even.
Time Travel hurts my head.
it's not confusing at all, sly only killed the future version of clockwerk (after turning himself into a full on robotand the past version is alive and well in the current era (at the earliest since this is where time travel firest could have feasibly occured thanks to paradox's machine.
Maybe Clockwerk can time travel. Who knows?
Still waiting on the next one 😔

If somebody didn't know, theres some writings in walls in the map I mell a rat (tutorial level) just before Betleycstarts hacking with the computer
Bentley starts*
Now I've never played a Sly Cooper game, but I think its cool how Clockwerk is in Sly 4 since in Sly 1,he said that he was always watching but was never quick enough to kill the Cooper's,referring back to Sly 1 how Clockwerk's figure is seen in the pictures of the Cooper ancestors
Well they are indeed like clockwerk but a smaller version, so what I can think is : do you remember the eggs in Sly 2? In Arpeggio's airship, are they maybe connected?
The mechanical eggs arpeggio's blimp the eggs could have survived and matured
It would have been more interesting to have Le Paradox work with Clockwerk to try and wipe out the Coopers rather than steal their canes.
What if Penelope is to blame she's still at large and we mustn't forget the one thing with Bryner Noggin either 🤫
You'd think Clockwerk would try to reach out to Le Paradox. Missed opportunity.
La Paradox would have somehow captured the giant owl and used his parts to enhance his time portal.
Hi clockwerk
I really like this game even though its intended for children, it just reminds me of childhood and causes nostalgia
“... in the next [game]”
>Published seven years ago
No surprise to see him honestly. After all, we do know that he's an "ancient nemesis of the cooper clan" so he hasn't been destroyed yet in any of the time periods we see him in. But it does make me wonder how it's possible to have Clockwerk's eye as a treasure if he is active throughout the game.
Better yet why one of the eyes? Also if it’s post sly 2 the thing should be rusted away
If it is pre sly 2 than it should be causeing time rifts since the contessa should have it. And if it’s before that
The cops should still have it in the museum
He should have been organic in most of his appearances and he shouldn't have even been in the stone age level. While its nice that Sanzaru Games was trying to do a call back they seem like weren't paying close attention to the backstory of the first game.
Really cool, but he looks kinda goofy in this game. Not scary enough.
It's ironic that Clockwerk is only seen in this game, but never mentioned.
i dont care if clockwerk is in the next sly game, i just want to get the next game asap.
It’s ironic how none of the main characters noticed Clockwerk in any of the time periods.
this would've been so much better if he would've started off as normal in the ice age, and as he'd go on to later periods become more and more cyborg, ending up as completely robotic in Paris
Well it's 2020 and no sly 5 or a reboot i hope we get a new sly game soon
I love the theory that Penelope played some role in Clockwork's machinery. It sounds so legit, especially if you notice that his design is way more simple here than in Sly. Its almost as if he just threw some metal on. He won't get his more complex build till later.
So when Clockwork became a robotic owl, he was actually the size of a small actual owl at some point?
Pretty much.
Actually, I don't think that is Clockwerk himself. but rather his "Owl Bots" that were an enemy type in the first game.
I wager they acted like drones to spy for him (which they are clearly doing in Sly 4.)
He also had Robo Falcons in the first game. They guarded the Death Ray in his volcano fortress in Russia.
So......why didn't Sly or anyone in in the gang warn the ancestors about clockwerk?
They'd no doubt already faced him and drove him away.
I feel so bad for this dude, he thought the new game would be soon 😔
This is soo cool. I love that you went through all of them instead of just showing like a single still. The fact that Clockwerk's seen in the background of this game gives off such an ominous vibe
Oh and clockwerks redesign... i hate it. he's suppose to be this monstrous embodiement of hate bent on ... familicide who over the centuries grew numb to everything but killing coopers but here he's just a rotund watch owl he should be giant imposing and if he see you looking should glare at you heck make a mission where he call la paradox pathetic and we'll all be happy
