- Mexicana's 1st 767, a -300 series (ex Scandinavian Airl Sys - OY-KDI, LN-RCG, SE-DOA) wore the old green Azteca tail design as oppose to the two recent changes. Here, XA-MXB named 'Buenos Aires' (thus Mexicana's initiation of service to the Argentine capital) is seen departing LAX for Mexicana's base of operations in Mexico City.

Ya se esta anunciando, que con el cese de operaciones de la Aerolínea "Interjet", puede que se recupere a "Mexicana de Aviación".
Mexicana como tal nunca desapareció, sencillamente se redujo a dar servicios de "Mantenimiento de Aeronaves", pero dejaron de operar Aeronaves y de proporcionar Transporte Aéreo.
Aunque no definen si sera una Empresa Privada, o sera parte del Estado Mexicano, aunque sinceramente puede que sea en forma de "Empresa Privada".
Como sea, el anuncio esta hecho, solo queda darle tiempo para ver como se van conformando los detalles para que Mexicana vuelva a operar Aeronaves.

Great airplane, 767 are awesome. But what is even greater is the good old mexicana, we miss it a lot. Except for AeroMexico, we only have crappy budget airlines nowadays.

Mexicana De Aviacion had been scheduled to take its first flight from Aeropuerto AIFA (Felipe Angeles international Airport) to the brand new airport in Tulum on December 26th 2023. Originally, the new Mexicana De Aviacion was supposed to take flight take its first flight on December 1st 2023. However, the airline had suffered a setback as their planes weren’t delivered yet. The airline had purchased 10 737-800s from Boeing and was supposed to be delivered on the 30th of September and the 30th of October. However, Boeing was faced with some major problems during this time of production for the 737 and had to delay its delivery for other airlines besides Mexicana.

Ever since Boeing hasn’t delivered their planes to the airline yet, Mexicana De Aviacion will be forced to employ 737s from the Mexican Army’s fleet to launch its commercial operations on December 26. They also reach an agreement with the regional carrier TAR Aerolineas to wet lease two Embraer 145s. Let’s hope for the new Mexicana De Aviacion can fly December 26 after passing the AFAC verification.

Mexicana flew non-stop from Ezeiza to Mexico 🇲🇽 City with their 767-300 ER. Note the name of the aircraft we see here at LAX: Buenos Aires.

Como tampiqueño que soy ,,me interesa el tema , porque los americanos que fundaron mexicana de aviacion en 1921 , vivian en Tampico, por el auge petrolero ,,Tampico en ese tiempo era la capital mundial del petroleo,,fue en ese 1921 cuando se alcanzo el primer lugar mundial EN LA ZONA , NORTE DE VERACRUZ ORIENTE DE SAN LUIS Y SUR DE TAMAULIPAS en extraccion del petroleo por mas de 250 millones de barriles,,lo que ocasiono mas derrama ,,e aqui el porque la creacion de mexicana de aviacion , PRIMER EMPRESA EN EL MUNDO CREADA PARA TRANSPORTAR PASAJEROS ,,,KLM Y AVIANCA FUERON PRIMERAS PERO PARA EL TRANSPORTE DE CARGA Y CORREO ,,JAMAS SE PENSABA TRANSPORTAR GENTE POR EL MIEDO A LOS ACCIDENTES.....

The Mexican Government said that the military purchased Mexicana De Aviacion that the Mexican President want to bring airline back in 2023.

On July 10th 2023, President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said that Mexicana De Aviacion is coming back to fly in the Mexico Sky Again!
Boy I sure hope so! Every flight I had on Mexicana was excellent from checkin to baggage collection on the other end! I miss that company.
