Thanks for the reply. I chose to keep my Fed Employee BC-BS insurance coverage after retiring at 65 because I wanted to live overseas and Medicare told me they wouldn't cover me outside the USA . My question, now that I plan to return to the US, could I switch from BC-BS to Medicare without penalty? BC-BS is so expensive and hardly covers any of my medical expenses!
hey Ammar! Did you get help on this? How are you doing? when Medicare said no coverage, did they give you some sort of waiver of the expense of Part B? I also live outside USA and have local insurance to cover me which far exceeds USA coverages!! (Hahaha) Don't tell the Americans this because they are so proud of being Americans!! hehehe. Just joking! But the coverage is about the same for the president of the country for $60 USD per YEAR so pretty good. Hope things work out for you.
Theresa did you get the answer to your situation? how is it working out for you? I called Stephanie today at her office in Austin Texas. Call her! Yours seems like a very tricky question and you need a Champion. Best!!
REALLY like your videos. One question - does it really matter what company you pick for you Medigap plan? If they are all standardized, it makes me wonder. Thanks.
Better call Stephanie!!! hehehe. it is a stand alone plan, not listed above. Did you vote D? Because the D added dental to Build Back Better and was taken out. Just saying!! Don't be mad!! My dentist offers plans but then you end up rationing care due to limited coverages. Please post what you work out!!
Agree, 1 payment to simplify. Also make all insurance companies non-profit. It’s disgusting to make profit from illnesses. Hopefully, take all the greed out of health care.
Why does Blue Shield of California you have a ONE STAR D- rating with the BBB? Why do you have a one star rating with 795 reviews on Yelp? How is that ok?
My issue is sorting through all this medicare, medicaid, suplement, Universal, etc. I would like a local insrance agent coach that I can personally see to address any concerns I might have. Is there such an agent in my local?
Hubby just got this insurance thru Walmart which is his 2nd full time job he is working 16hrs a day. My question is how do I get an insurance card for my son and daughter? It seems you have to register individually since I haven’t seen their name on the card its only my name on it.
Often the child dependent doesn’t get a separate card with their name on it, they use the parents card with the adult/subscriber name since you share an ID number.
@@AbtInsuranceAgency Wow I am wondering how people can afford it. I am currently under Obamacare (under 65) with subsidies and pay little to nothing monthly. At 65 I don't know how I would be able to pay part B much less an additional premium. Well that is settled I won't get it and I will have less coverage over 65 than when I was younger than 65.
@@jamesmc1016 James, you may have to make the Medicare choice. My husband received a letter from his Covered CA plan stating he will no longer be able to keep the state plan because his is now eligible for Medicare.
@@jamesmc1016 Once you are eligible for Medicare, you can no longer eligible for ACA Obamacare. You may be eligible for MSP (Medicare Savings Program) ehich will pay your Part B premium. If not they also have Medicare Advantage plans that will reimburse a portion or all of your Part B premium.
@@jamesmc1016 Thank you brother for this honest and important post!! Under President Obama, I was granted VA care (in lieu of Obamacare) and he sent me a letter every year to check in on me. How did things work out for you? There must be something we can do. My friend didn't get Part B, until he went to the hospital at about age 88. They gave him a penalty back to the day he retired 23 years earlier. Maybe we can share info and help others. My friends on SS retirement also can not afford the hit of Part B!! Avoid Blue Cross Blue shield like the plague, it's a proprietary company, which means the agent can only market BCBS products to you. Their competitively priced at 65, but their annual increases will make you wish why you ever got in bed with that company and then you're stuck with them because you can't pass underwriting with any other company. Check out United American, they may be a few dollars a month more in the beginning, but they are vary stable price wise in the coming years, plus they offer High Deductible G, which is really worth looking at.

Get rid of all these insurance companies and get universal

So when you start Medicare and get a supplement (lets say G) do you pay the premium for part B AND an additional amount monthly for the supplement?
Yes, that's correct. And it's important to shop around because Supplement plans can vary widely in cost. We'd be happy to help - 888-465-9728.

So it’s not like BCBS plan is any different than Aetna or Univeral health Care except for the premiums right¿
erin davitt medigap plans are standardized so the benefits are the same from one carrier to another, but rates can vary.
