Season 19, South park gentrifies, to lose their "redneck" reputation, and Mr garrison goes on the campaign trail. Season 20, the election year, and international efforts to solve online toxic behaviour. Those two seasons are the main big-story seasons.

If this had even a tiny hint of truth, I would personally try to hop that Canadian wall ASAP, or at least find higher ground for a couple of years. I believe part of the expectation comes from historical recordings of these cataclysmic events popping off with around 150 years between them, multiple quakes at once. Scary stuff!

dash is the only sp reactor. i've seen other who watched several episodes and still don't know names. dash gives us references and understanding :) and the Japanese episodes are on another level since he and trey parker are both fluent :)

Of course, that is totally fine (after all, it's their show and they can do with it whatever they want), but because of the emphasis on politics, this season never really felt like a true Southpark season to me. It felt more like a Mr. Garrison spin-off series.

Season 19 is absolute gold from start to finish. 7:38 I watched "The Lion King II: Simba's Pride" plenty of times before. It was an average follow-up to an exemplary movie.
Sad fact: when mr garrison went over the falls in the barrel that actually happened in the 1900s where a man had died due to impact and his body is somewhere among the falls water well. (Supposedly) and back in the 80s a guy made his own metal barrel and went over the falls but also succumbed to the falls but his body was recovered in the barrel once they managed to get his body out. (He welded himself shut after entering and thought he could get out when he was in the Canada side.
I actually didn't realize the situation with Joseph's brothers, but it is interesting to learn how technically the next in line for Jacob's inheritance, as it were, wasn't his 2 oldest, Simeon and Levi, even Reuben for different reasons, Judah would've been the next in line. Joseph: King of Dreams apparently does take several liberties, particularly regarding his brothers and their past actions
“Hot Cosby” is a reference from an earlier episode. It was brought up in PC Principal’s 1st appearance in “Stunning and Brave,” but it might’ve been said an episode or two before it.
There's also 2 great episodes surrounding Obama's elections that I would recommend: Season 12 episode 12 "About Last Night..." and Season 16 episode 14 "Obama Wins!"
The first two people to go over the Niagara Falls in a barrel actually survived, believe it or not :D The first guy to die went into his barrel with an anvil tied to his leg, for some reason. All they found of him was a severed leg inside the mangled barrel.
tbf, as far as i remember in romeo and juliet they never actually stopped the fighting between the montague and capulets. there was a sort of shared moment of silence after their death, but no true end to the hostilities. unlike in lion king 2. so it's actually a lot closer to what cartman is planing, rather than romeo and juliet was. (personally though, i was thinking west side story. i believe the two gangs resolve their differences by the end there, too.)
As everyone said these are the rare seasons should watch in order as the story and punchlines are much more carried over several episodes rather than self contain. season 19-23 is when they start having seasons being interconnected. After season 23 they become more one off again and more just specials they have been releasing like the pandemic episodes you already watched.
South Park Season 19 experimented with doing a season long narrative ... a 10-part story. "Where my Country Gone" is episode 2 of that 10 episode season.

Lion king is hamlet which is Shakespeare so it makes sense why butters recited the lines as a Shakespearean actor. Also butters has the best game out of any character
The orange man actually kind of ended up derailing South Park for a while. They really didn’t expect him to win. And since they were doing serialization they had to incorporate Garrison’s position as a Trump analog into the plot for longer than expected. And some episodes’ plots from the season that was being made during and after the election had to be scrambled.
Please continue to watch s1 to 17 in any order you wish. Season 18 onwards does require you to watch the episodes and the 45 minute specials in order if you want to understand every joke. There are still stand alone episodes. But even though they swore they'd never do a full on serialized season after the debacle where they painted themselves into a corner by using Vegas odds on Hillary winning like they had done before. The town doesn't reset after every episode, several permanent changes come into effect. And regularly you'll see multi episodes arc be spread.

Actually a really good movie. Nothing beats the original. But LK2 looks like a major theater release movie, not a direct to video.

Season 18 onwards does require you to watch the episodes and the 45 minute specials in order if you want to understand every joke. There are still stand alone episodes. But even though they swore they'd never do a full on serialized season after the debacle where they painted themselves into a corner by using Vegas odds on Hillary winning like they had done before.
The town doesn't reset after every episode, several permanent changes come into effect. And regularly you'll see multi episodes arc be spread.
