Users of newer versions of PS can use the magnetic lasso to mask the boy figure. The selection will not be 100% precise so you will need to clean up the edges a bit with regular lasso, but it should be faster overall than using the Pen tool.

@@andhikazanuar I repeated this tutorial using the magnetic lasso + regular lasso and it worked much faster than your method while achieving perfect masking. The boy in the water is highly contrasted against the background so even the magic wand would work well here. And let's be honest, your pen masking wasn't very precise in a lot of areas. Looks like we have different definitions for "neatness."
The pen tool is great for delicate work, but in this case it's not the fastest solution. If this were a person standing in a very complicated background, then the pen would make more sense. No need to make things harder than they have to be.
