I just came upon this video from almost 6 years ago. And I must say of all the videos I have ever watched on hitting driver, this one rendered the most success for me. I tried it during my round yesterday, and I was finally able to hit up on the ball with a very noticeable result. My first two tries were inaccurate but solid, but after that they were solid and accurate.
Great lesson Chris! Thank you! 😍👏
I managed to hit up on a drive recently and the extra distance was huge I’m convinced now so these tips are great for me. Thanks Chris for a great video !
Great tips, Chris. I've seen many instructors on youtube advocate the first 2 tips, but not the 3rd, which seems key. Very well done.
Just discovered your Channel and I like your teaching style a lot. Very succinct and positive. Can't wait to try these out on the range. Great job!
perfect i needed this
Perfect man!! Thanks! Awesome videos
great tips. Many thanks
I love your videos! Very precise and clear ,,,,keep them coming ,if I have been topping my driver should I lean more on teeing it higher and more forward in my stance as well? Thx Chris
love how u give 3 keys to focus on really helps to remind me of what I should be doing throughout the swing as a opposed to just at setup awesome video brotha man keep em coming!!
+Kalein Lujan Tahnks for your comments, glad your enjoying the vids
Nce one Chris! Superb analysis , keep 'em coming!
+Tom Hobbs Thanks Tom
Have so much trouble hitting down with my driver. Going try your three tips at range. Thanks
Simple and effective
Very good tips, but easier said than done when you go to hit.
Another good strait forward video ,can you show the swing in slow mo?
If I didn't live 6,000 miles away in the Pacific Northwest I would drive down to wherever you are with a 12 pack as a thank you gift bc those 3 pearls of wisdom just fixed my driving issues
Some real keys/thoughts to take to the range. More curious as to how TaylorMade let you in with the Nike shirt, shoes, and the Puma belt? Thanks and keep up the good work.
Great tips but what height tee should I use?
The only part of my game that really going good this year is my drive. I am not doing everything your showing here but am terrified to mess with it. I will try to incorporate some of this but if it affects my swing negatively I am going back. I do need the extra distance though so that is why I will try.
Did this today and didn't hit a single bad drive. Every drive down the fairway. And by the end of the round it felt really comfortable.
+Scott Griffin Thats great Scott, lets hope it keeps working!!
Can keeping your weight on your toes and leaning forward during setup with the driver cause issues with slicing or hitting down on the ball?
My biggest issue after hitting down is keeping my left arm straight thru impact. Probably from being a long time chicken winger, any tips on adrill for this?
Chris : I have watched this video and have tried what you advocate. I hit my driver usually about 230 yds, but low. What happens is that when I use your keys is I tend to hit a fade instead of my usual straight or slight draw. I understand I need to get more height but having trouble coming across the ball. Suggestions ? Would love to go to the UK for some lessons. Thanks. Ray Beaudin
+Ray Beaudin Hi Ray, whenver you hit the ball later in the arc, i.e. on the way up, the path moves more left so a fade is slightly more likely, you need to either work on moving the path a little more right, adjust your body alignment to neutralise, or simply just play with the fade.
+ChrisRyanGolf Thanks Chris for the reply. Enjoy your videos. You have a great way of simplifying your teachings.
A lot of things are hard wood, cement, and golf
Didn't mention to tee the ball up higher
