Love it. It makes me wonder all the more what kind of torment Mrs Coulter had to go through (and trials like witches do) to become this menace, when she was a lively girl like Lyra... And her monkey, poor thing, kept at arm's length and without a name. It's really interesting that such a merciless parents give birth to a girl with a daemon called All-Compasionate (Pantalaimon), isn't it?
Very true! It sounds like we're getting more back story for Mrs Coulter in Season 3 regarding her mother, so that will be interesting. And also very sad.
I am coming back to this again because now the season 3 has just lunched. Marisa Coulter is my favorite role in HDM Tv series, maybe it is because of Ruth Wilson is an excellent actress, she masters the role pretty well, she lets me see the complexity in this character, let me know that Coulter isn’t that bad or evil, actually I have understood this character, because of the world she lives in doesn’t allow women to be successful, although she tried very hard when she was young, and according to the conversation between Coulter and Lee in that episode, she had a terrible childhood… and there are so many details to discover in this character, I would like to say that Coulter is more like an anti-hero, but not a villain, she is always compressing herself and always trying to be a good mother, that’s what I think. Ruth is doing a great job playing this role, she deserves an award😢.
I absolutely agree with this! And she actually has won an award for playing Mrs Coulter... she won the 2020 BAFTA Cymru Award for Best Actress :) But she totally deserves ALL the awards!!!
This hurts my eyes emotionally , It makes my eyes feel heavy with sorrow. I have had my fair clear of experience with these feelings in this video. It is the most unbearable thing I have ever been through But something good can out of it. The feeling of numbness so I can't feel anymore so I won't have to feel like that anymore. Like I said the pain of these feelings was too unbearable
Please tell me the coulter really wants to protect her daughter. Does anyone have information? Or does the coulter really love her daughter? I need these answers
She does love her daughter. She realises that more and more as the episodes progress. Unfortunately she doesn't know how to deal with that love for Lyra in any 'normal' way. But rest assured Marisa does indeed love Lyra :)
In The Golden Compass, Lyra's mum is glamorous and seductive and clever.
In His Dark Materials, Lyra's mum is terrifying, strong and clever.
how dare ya? this is so perfect and so emotional, the comparisions are sooo good. they are more alike than they think
Oh my god, the comparisons between the two of them! Right in the feels and the music ties it all together so well. Great job!
When Lyra says, "Don't think I won't hurt you Tony Costa." We find out where she gets that from as Mr's Coulter beats the shit out of Benjamin.
This is the best edit out there of them!!!
It’s hard! I sometimes hate her but I also love her mom!! Why is this edit so amazing!! It’s making me love her mom.😭
the way you mirrored the 2 characters actions in black and white was sooooooo *good*
