In this clip, Japanese hip-hop star Awich talked a bit about the current happenings in her native country and what she’s been up to since the pandemic. Awich then detailed some of her background such as being born in Okinawa, and how she began writing poetry at an early age. Awich then discussed making the transition from poetry into rapping around the age of 14. She also talked about the importance of learning English for her creative/career aspirations in hip-hop and how the language fit the way she wanted to communicate.

@@bx3054 I actually wanted to watch the interview; I didn't. I just UA-cam'd the artist's name and found information on her from there. It's not good when people see the subject that you're interviewing then automatically leave to find another outlet to get information instead of watching your content.

This interviewer needs a lot more practice. It was unbearable to watch/listen to. The awkward spacing, the unwarranted overhyped questions, I think we need Vlad to be back in the forefront. Good God this was bad!

I definitely learned that about Nigerians. Only in certain parts of the cities with pretty healthy American presence has clubs that play hip hop. Even then u will hear more beats than lyrics.
