Thank you for explaining everything so well brother, another great video. I checked my email this morning and happy to say I got accepted to the apprenticeship! Couldn't be anymore happier 😁
Seems like every local does stuff differently than others. I never got a score from my aptitude test nor did I receive a score or rank after my interview. My interview was in front of 6 people and mostly the same questions that everyone gets so I did get to prepare very well for the questions. I just got my acceptance letter, now waiting on an email or phone call to go get my physical and drug test. The next 5 years is going to be hard I can guarantee that! I have 2 kids so I'm sure it's going to be extremely hard to balance working full time and going to classes 2 days a week from 630pm to 930pm, then doing homework in between classes. Nice to have a community to keep us on track and stay motivated. Thanks for the vids!
Yup! Every local is so different. That’s why I’m apprehensive to answer specific questions. I applied for two locals. The one up north did not give me any scores after my interview. If I wanted to know my score I would have to email them at the end of each month. Thanks for watching my videos! The next 5 years will be hard but totally worth it! Let’s go brother! Congrats!
Oh man! I Was so nervous. Im excited for you! I stayed up pretty late because I was so nervous. Definitely don’t be like me and try to get as much sleep as you can. Treat it like a exam. Get plenty of sleep and eat a good breakfast. Also practice mock interviews. Good luck man!
Wow that’s a great score! I ranked 35 and it took about 7 months. It will most likely go faster for you because summer is busy and the classes are getting bigger. That being said you just never know. Check your rank every Thursday around 5pm. That’s when my number would usually change
What’s the whole process like? I just got finished with the PEF. I’m waiting on my email for the aptitude test. I read that a lot of people have been getting rejected because they don’t have atleast 499 hours of construction experience. I thought the apprenticeship is for people with 0 exp
@@SparkysJourney took the test yesterday and passed! Actually could have interviewed tomorrow for inside wireman but I wanted to do the Disney program so I’ll have to wait until aug 5th for the interview. And to answer my own question about iprep difficulty, the aptitude test was way easier than the iprep tests.
@@SparkysJourney I’m applying in the Orlando. Disney uses IBEW 606 to get its electricians. If accepted into the program Disney is basically the contractor you get assigned to. The interview process is a little different in that they will have people from Disney and the IBEW doing the interview. You will be working at resorts and attractions, They rotate through the year. It’s just hard to get accepted as they are only taking 8 people from 2020 applications. They said they usually take about 21 people a year.
Watch my video “I got a letter from the IBEW” I go over the schedule in that. It’s kind of all over the place. Seven or eight classes spread out between 5 to 6 weeks
@@SparkysJourney I’m at local 595.. not sure how big or small this local is compared to others. But I was really hoping to get a better rank. I’ve paid attention to your journey so i was hoping it would be similar.
@@luissanchez5415 keep your head up! You always feel like you can do better! That’s a good score and a good rank! I'm not sure for every local but I believe in general you take a test and interview for the position and if you are licensed with proper documentation then you will start out as a journeyman.
Do you know if the boot camp is paid and if it's plenty of hours. I'm currently working and I'd have to quit to go to boot camp and can't take a lapse in pay so I'm kind of worried if it'll be enough to get by.
No unfortunately it’s not paid. It’s a small price to pay for your future. Not sure what area you’re in but here in Washington they seem to have split bootcamp into multiple days. So you could probably still work and do Boot Camp but it would be pretty hard

Just had my interview this morning and it was really laid back. Hoping to hear good news soon. Good luck on your journey!
Any updates?
We didn't have boot camp at my local. We just had orientation and then immediately started class and work after that.
Just received results after my interview and I got in! Have my orientation on the 24th! (Local 697)
So pumped for you, I’m just waiting for a call 👏🏻 I was ranked #8 last week when I finished my interview
What local? That’s an awesome rank. You should be selected in no time! Congrats

Did you get into the apprenticeship? And how soon did it take?
WOOT WOOT!!! 🤠
Awesome!
Must be nice. Did you have letters of recommendation. What did your portfolio look like during the interview

It would be great to do a video with you about my experience so far. 2 years in.
Hat was the physical exam about also
How is it going now?
Nice sir
Gratz on a good first day. I have my aptitude test Monday, any study sources or practice tests you can recommend?
Would suggest iPrep for practice tests and khan academy for math tutoring! Good luck!
@@SparkysJourney just finished the 2nd test on iprep. Would you say iprep is harder than the aptitude test or about the same?

Well i just a got my score of 92.25 and rank of 72.. feeling a little discouraged. Anyone get a similar score/rank and got in?
What local? 72 isn’t bad at all! I think anything under 100 is good (depending on local. Bigger local = bigger classes)

Hard to day. Possibly. It’s mostly reading short stories and then answering questions based on that story. How is your English reading?

Great job man!
Dumb questions here, do you need to do the apprenticeship?
Do you need to do the apprenticeship if you already have your journeymans?

Another great video as usual. I would like to know prior to getting accepted; What kind of work experience do you have?
I had no electrical experience. I did have have a few months as a material handler but that was back in college.

Is the drug test hair or just urine? Thank you 🙏
Ours was urine
Pretty sure prescription medication is good to go right
