for my the are 2 disadvantages in playnite 1. the don't support therd patty controllers in full screen mode 2. it's not that easy to convert the library for the playnite if you have more then one computer or if you do a format for sure the steam and all the game lancer game i will set up easily hover all non launcher game i will have to set up again if you make new computer
I like it WAY better that GoG Galaxy. The steam integration in Galaxy has been broken for a long time and it seems to be a common thing. Works perfectly in Playnite. Also noticed Playnite uses quite a bit less RAM that Galaxy when both are just running in the background.
I'll check it out, looks interesting. What's the difference between the free version and the pro version, the descriptions seem the same, unless I am missing something?
@BuzStringer, Pro version has modern UI, better loading time, more UI features of customization, more functional features (for instance, search functionality) , comfortable UI Custom editor (in the Free it is just text editor). More cool features are in the plan. Big one is integration with Parsec and Moonlight.
I've tried it. I like the idea, especially how seamless it is. However, It couldn't identify my controller (I'm using Sony's dual shock 4 with the ds4 app). I look forward for this app to get some rich features. I will be buying it immediately then. Keep it up.
The HTPC is also mainly used for TV and Films so I launch the HTPC to Kodi and I have a button for "Game Mode" which launches Playnite, heres a video of my setup from last year, I've changed a few bits since then but the idea is still the same. ua-cam.com/video/JEN2wF50L9Q/v-deo.html If you want to launch straight to Playnites big picture you can, just by adding it to your startup folder in Windows Edit: fixed link
Haha an infinite loop of the same video, thanks I have fixed the link. For clean UI, if you're watching videos as well I'd with Kodi, there's loads of skins and it's very customisable. If it's just games, I would use Playnite 100%
Playnite is simply launching the games from their respective launcher, so your Steam games will have the Steam overlay & Steam Input, your Epic games will have the Epic overlay, etc.
@@zaebaniyunderground6260 doesn’t the launcher just open steam when trying to run steam licensed games ? even if you go into Playnite settings are you still connected to steam ? does it actually close steam ? lol
Playnite will (cracked games). Just click the top left button, add game, scan automatically, and point Playnite to the folder of the game (or games) you want to add.

Playnite has a built in backup feature. Top left button, Library, Backup library data and then you just choose where you want to put the backup.

Is this any better than g.o.g 2.0? I haven’t really seen much of either but gog seems to have trouble connecting to my uplay and rockstar accounts
It's much more stable and customizable yeah, and is updated more regularly. Uplay and Rockstar work fine on it.
oh yes i switched a while ago and never looked back its no contest
it has more connectable platforms and there are always new platforms or customizable add ons for any new platforms that arise

Why do people find it so hard to use like 3 different launchers. Most games are on steam and a few in between are on others.
