thanks for posting, the post is 5years old now; are your results as expected? What size burner(s) BTUs might be recommended? I have gotten my stainless steel vat completed; a friend welded it up for me and I will using a brick lifter to remove the hot boxes. After complete cool down of the wax tank how might it be restarted aka melting the solid block or does one drain the wax from the tank into smaller molds before cooling down in preparation for the next run? Thanks
The "Brick Tongs" was helpful but what was that last tool, used to grab the painted box from the inside and carry it? 4:39ish irwin quick grip set up as a spreader?
This got to be the most efficient set up I've ever seen. For the life of me I cannot find those jigs used for holding the boxes together for assembly or for spinning to paint. Any chance you're willing to part from that information?
Great video thanks for posting. What is the wax mix maybe 30% Micro-crystaline with 180 degree melt point & 70% Parrafin with 140 degree melt point? Is this an oil or water based paint being used? Thanks Again
Добрый день. Очень понравилось видео. Скажите какая толщина стенки улья? Примерная влажность дерева перед погружением горячий воск? Температура воска и время пропитки? Good day. Really enjoyed the video. Tell me what the wall thickness of the hive? Approximate wood humidity before dipping the hot wax? The temperature of the wax and the impregnation?
From the Rural Industries Research & Development Corporation Paper it looks like an oil based paint applied before the box cools down is suggested, anyone interested do a search on RIRDC or hot wax dipping beehives.
По ходу, как я понял водоэмульсионная краска. Покуда корпуса с горячей пропиткой воском остывают их прокрашивают и краска втягивается в древесину вместе с воском. Если я все правильно понял. Нужно взять на заметку!
I did screen shots of video, order some clamps from Rockler, built model out of wood for the hive boxe asy jig then got a friend to build out of metal.
I am impressed. This looks like a small but very efficient and professional factory.

Love your video, I hope you post more. Your doing quality work. Nice design on the dipping tank.

Would love to see how to build several of those fixtures

What kind of paint sticks to the wax?
Mark Stevens as long as the box is still hot, the wax is still soft, it will suck the paint in to the wood as it cools
William McNett Is the box repaint able in the future?
Did you manufacture the wax dipping tank, yes? If no, where did you purchase it?
what sort of paint it is, water base?
Superb!
Please, tell me, which clamps using a "machine" (where knock and where paint)?
Thanks
hi, what kind of wax are you using?
This was my inspiration for waxing
How about the paint you use? It is a water based or oil based? Thanks!
WATER BASED.
What kind of wax and where do u get it? Thanks
How many years expected use? You can't hear because of the drill. thanks!
I'm in the pocess of setting up my workshop. I like your jigs. Are they custom? Any chance of getting the plans? A grateful beekeeper from Florida.
what kind of wax and were do you get it at? Thanks.
Parafin.

Miso, koju farbu koristite posle parafinisanja nastavaka?
Супер ! Лучше не видел. Молодцы !
I do not understand how the paint sticks to the wax. Great shop!
as long as wood is hot it will absorb the paint and it sticks. If you let it cool down and then paint it wil never stick to that box
You got a nice set up, i like the jigs. but you cant paint over wax, paint will peel off, a waist of paint ! Go fully into one, either wax or paint
The hot wax is absorbed into the wood very fast after the boxes come out of the wax bath. The paint will still stick very well.
what are the dimension on the cooker i am going to have one built tanks
Just a couple inches bigger that the Hive box.

Great patents, thanks for sharing
Why put paint over wax? It wont bond !
YES IT DOES.... Must be done while wax is hot out of the dip tank.
Какая краска?
