Absolutely love these animals. They’re so loyal and caring towards each other and look after one another when the other is injured or ill.

At 1st i thought better to be eaten, then i thought about the being alive part, now i can't decide if it was me what i would prefer. How much pain are we talking with the slow death? Lions have a tendency to eat rivals from the hind legs to prolong the suffering, can you imagine some animal eating your legs before getting to the vital organs.

Lion bites are designed to suffocate, not bleed or puncture skin.

What I dont understand is the fact that they are endangered and nothing was done to assist that dog in those months before he died. I know there are groups in that area that specialize in wounded animals. Its one thing to let nature take its course but another to wait 2 or so months while that dog suffers.. plenty of time to dart him, treat him while he is darted, put a tracker on him and release him. So much for conservation efforts

You're right... You don't understand. Conservation efforts are aimed at preserving habitats so that a species can survive and nature can run its course. It is not about saving individual animals, nor should it be, since resources are limited. We shouldn't turn the savanna into a zoo...
