I was happy to see Beckham at the table with Daddy and Blakely. Hopefully this will happen all the time. Also, just an idea, put a very small amount of food on Beckham tray in a scoop dish and just see what he does with it. Let him use his fingers or an adaptive utensil. I believe if left along and there was not a big deal made of it and he could go at his own pace with little bits of encouragement that he might eat some new things by mouth. He was really trying to get to daddy's food. Maybe just maybe with the feeding therapy now, Beckham may be making that connection now! Keep it up Beckham. With love from TN
One of my favorite things about your family is that you have Beckham at the table with you. He isn't left out because he is tube fed. Blakely 🍳 cooking eggs 🍳 was so cute. Good job mom, and dad.
Blakely is so brave! I am currently 20 and have been on allergy shots for almost 2 years. My allergy test results were very similar to hers in that I am moderately to severely allergic to almost everything they tested for along with moderate asthma. My allergist has me on a 3-5 year injection plan. For the first 8 months until I hit my maintenance dose, I got 3 shots weekly. Now for the past 16 months I have been getting 3 shots monthly. I am not going to lie, it was a little rough for those 8 months as I had some reactions that set me back at times, but overall after those 8 months were over, I started to see major improvement in my allergies and asthma to the point that I am now on over the counter allergy meds and am almost completely off of my daily inhaler. The hardest part for me was dealing with the itching and burning for a couple days following the injections, but my allergist started using ice packs while I waited after my shots, and that improved the pain significantly. I think allergy injections are so so beneficial and would highly recommend doing them as soon as possible if her doctor recommends it!
Long term use of steroids is harmful for toddlers. It can cause slower growth rate, cataracts, eye pressure, behavior changes as irritability, hyperactivity, trouble sleeping, obesity, increased risk of infections, high blood sugar, ulcers etc.. there are numerous effects. Can you not just like have the dog stay at a friend's or parents house so you can still see her? That way she wouldn't have to take steroids and would have better overall health.
I agree with you but it sounds like she is on a very low dose of steroids. Personally I would not keep the dogs, BUT I know some people love their pet like it's their child. I had 5 children (grown adults now) and I would have rehomed the dog immediately.
I’m Lifelong Asthmatic Started At Age 6 Months. I’m HIGHLY Allergic To Dust, Horses, Cats, Dogs… basically any animal with fur/hai. Also grass, Trees and most flowers… I take my meds and my inhaler and live life to the fullest without restrictions because you only get one turn to experience life. My parents told me I couldn’t jog or run, laugh too much or go swimming or even play in the snow. I learned to keep my face covered with a scarf to breathe in warm air and I learned that when I feel an onset… take a time out, relax my breathing and get back into it. It’s all about learning to manage through a pulmonologist and allergist. I’m currently a black belt, run 5K’s and spend my summers swimming, biking, hiking, and doing miles on foot. Asthma isn’t a death sentence. You CAN do many things. My son also has it severely bad. He’s also on Neb treatments every 4 hours daily. He’s also a black belt, runs with me and also swims, bikes and does motor cross. Life is wonderful if you don’t live it being scared of an attack. Attacks happen. That’s what inhalers/meds are for. Live life happy.
That browny colour jumper looks fire on you, Rachel 🔥 goes perfectly with your hair and skin… totally off topic 😂 well done to Blakely for being the Queen!
You shouldn't promise no pokes to your kids especially if you are going to an allergist. It's better to say "I don't know but whatever is necessary I'll be there with you.". I learned this the hard way.
I had asthma and allergies as a child, and was on medication and shots for a few years. Our dog lived in the backyard with rare visits inside the house. Talk to Blakeley’s doctor about the frequency of the dog’s presence inside the house. Steroids can be dangerous, hopefully she can stop those and rely on oral meds (Dimetapp for congestion and a cough/wheezing med also ( I don’t remember its name, just that they were tiny pink tablets).
Hi rachel, I really enjoyed watching Blakely cook with you. You have a future chef on your hands. I had allergy shots once a week for 5 years. You're right. The treatment was intense. I found that it was very much worth it.
Firstly I spent every summer with a girl that got allergy shots 1x per wk. she was very allergic to animals, and they had a cat. The cat was indoor/outdoor. She did beautifully with the shots. Eventually she outgrew the allergies. Also every summer I got at least one ear infection, she never did! Secondly, how cute are both your kids?? Blakely making eggs was priceless and while at the doctor…so cute. Her commentary while she’s doing things is hysterical. And there’s sweet and perfect Beckham❤️just living his best life at the table! Your all the best🥰
Why do you still have the dog if she is allergic to it? I get it that you love the dog. It really? What’s more important? Keeping an animal that your kid is getting sick from.. or your kids health? I would think it would be the latter!
My kid is allergic to our cats dogs and guinea pigs. We give commitment to our pets for their life. We change the bedding. Have hepa filters and give allergy meds. Plus puffers. Pets don’t go in his room
@@jeanetteh.9240no youi ldl0t. My allergist said it’s better to be exposed to the allergen cause it’s not life threatening and agree we made commitments to the pets. We keep till they die. My kid would be very upset if we got rid of his pets. So get over ya jerk. I will have the pets till they die. And even if we got rid of them all we can’t remove the trees and dust that are bigger allergens. So go live in your lonely paranoid sterile world. Don’t forget the bubble wrap
Really good volg😊 Glad to see Beckham wearing little gloves as he rode in his wheelchair. It looked nice when Blake and Hunter were eating and Beckham was right next to them❤❤
6:31 as a child, I had to have allergy injections twice a week for 9 years. At some point, because it was going to be for years, my mom was able to give those at home so it didn’t interfere with school and my mom’s work. They were amazing, I would say life changing for me. I was allergic to everything! Literally! Only a few food allergies, but even stuff like dust mites I was allergic to. Every winter when it dropped below freezing, we would have to turn the attic fan on for 2 hrs to freeze everything in the house to kill off dust mites. My stuffed animals had to be put in the freezer once a week to kill dust mites. My room was white with tile floors. I couldn’t have carpet, and any pictures on the walls had to be cleaned daily. So eventually the injections helped me to build up immunity to a lot of stuff I was allergic to. ❤
Antigen injections rather? Not the side effects of steroids. And antigen injections can help for many yrs afterwards. Re-trains immune system. Avail for pet allergies? I got them for trees, grass, weeds, mold, mildew.
My brother (who is almost 19) has been on allergy shots for the past 6 or 7 years for anaphylactic insect sting allergy and water allergy. While it has not completed eliminated the allergies (he has not been stung so we are not 100% sure on this one) but has lessened his water allergy by 95% easily. He was having major reactions after every contact with water so allergy shots were a complete necessity. They are very intense and heavy duty but really have been a miracle for him. With steroids I have asthma and use an inhaler regularly. My sibling has a rare genetic condition that impacts their lungs dramatically so inhalers have been a part of their life since they were a toddler. While there are definitely negative impacts, the other option is not being able to breathe, so easy choice.
I’m currently doing allergy shots. I’m on year four year one was every week. I got four different shots. I’m allergic to cats dogs and a ton of other environmental things year two was every two weeks year three was once a month and year four is once a month when I hit your five, I think I should be able to stop. I talk to some old lady that was in my doctors office and she said she had them when she was younger they lasted like 20 years before she needed to repeat them. She said she do it all over again every time.
Aww , how cute love his little gloves he’s the best .. Hopefully, sissy will feel better soon ..I know u know but just b careful of the medicine.. Also, Hunter is the best and sweetest father ever.. ❤
I use to get shots twice a week when I was younger for my allergies I was allergic to 150 different things. The shots work and I have out grown alot of it.
I would not do steroid injections...while mine helped for awhile...it keeps weight on...they can be dangerous for littles...and I felt like mine were painful...I would try alternatives and do injections as a very last resort....after a few years they stopped working....
My cousin that’s 13 wasn’t able to get the allergy shots because hers are too strong it would be dangerous very unfortunate because she isn’t cautious she just eats things and doesn’t bring her epi pen. She makes me crazy.
Injections helped my nephew and he took them for years. I'd consider rehoming the doggie. My son had allergies, and we had no animals until he was 13. Same with sister's family. No animals. Helps a lot. Could try letting the dog stay with someone else for few weeks see if it makes a difference. My brother too he is an adult with allergies. My friend's child 40 yrs ago died from not being able to breath because of an attack. He was five yrs old. Peace!

Have you heard of the severe side effects of topical steroid withdrawal? That's from steriods just on the skin. I think if her allergy is severe enough to need steriods its better to just not have a dog. Maybe a family member or friend can take the dog in so you guys can still visit.
Why would you promise your daughter that there will be no needles when you can't be exactly sure because doctors might need to draw blood or something because that is how allergy doctors check for allergies. Just saying

As a mom with a child with cystic fibrosis, if daily steroids can be avoided, you really should get rid of the dog. Your daughter needs to be first.
