I love you as our teacher and I love your tutorials. Your voice always makes me so calm. I can really relax during your tutorials. Please keep painting and sharing your marvelous art with us!!! Thank you so much.
This was fun. Your laid back way of teaching kept me relaxed and it turned out pretty good. When I feel like I can’t paint, I’m coming back to this one. Thank you
Hi Ellen, I think the light wash of the background really set the painting off. I like the blue for the shadows also. Love the painting, so simple. TYFS.
Love this. Birch trees are my favorite, well those and the mighty oak, and a dogwood...oh well, i love trees and I love this painting you make me think i could actually do this. And i think you needed the snow, you could have gotten away with lots more snow, in my opinion.😉💕❄❄❄❄❄❄
This one is right up there with the cardinal in the evergreen with the green sky that you did last year. After I paint this one, I'm going to go back and paint the other again to see if I've improved.
🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃👍 Had to chuckle at "Cardinals Facing Off" (my title) which created a whole back story behind 3 cardinals in close proximity, staring each other down and getting ready to rumble. I am trying to figure out what hockey player names to give each one. Which one will dominate this territory? Ha, ha, ha. THANK YOU FOR THE BIG FUN! 🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃 HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
I love your technique for branches…you make it look so easy. Also the values and colors you use for your shadows is great. Thanks for sharing and showing us! …and I love the snow and the cardinals!
I very seldom watch a watercolor video all the way through unless I'm painting along, but this was fascinating! You are really encouraging for those of us who are just getting our feet wet (ha!) in watercolor! Thanks, Ellen!
Just want to let you know that " YOU ARE MY MOST FAVORITE WATERCOLOR ARTIST" I learn so much from your channel! Thank you so so much for sharing your tutorial ❤️
Enjoyed this video...i used masking tape instead of gum Arabic its a bit more time consuming and have to be extremely careful to make sure paint is thrully dry when very gently lifting the tape, i saw this pricess when i first became a watercolor enthusiastic amateur and i kinda liked the way the paint edges to tape its very edgey i guess so it helps make the bark look semi more realistic as i akways had a had time just wanting to draw a very straight tree which never looked right...i enjoyed the techniques and colors you used and how you walk us thru the process...id proudly buy this and hang it on my wall trees and cover bridges and windows are my favorite art to sketch and paint....mikelle art mom🎨👩🎨✍
What a wonderful creativity my friend - a joy to view!Just want to say your artwork is fantastic!you have a great future ahead...... MAY YOU SUCCEED ❤️❤️!!!
Ellen is demonstrating on whatever size she has handy, but that doesn't mean that's the size you need to paint on. She is merely showing us how to achieve the effects and techniques needed to paint this winter scene. Feel free to paint this on a postcard pad or a 11 x 14" size.
@@marybirder5663 you have personal knowledge of what Ellen’s reason was here? I think she chooses the size for a reason, and I was hoping she could share that.
@@andyrite100 Oops, so sorry, how very rude of me. I didn't initially see your question was directed to Ellen. She did say, "whatever size paper you want to do" in the beginning of her tutorial. For others who may be interested: Amazon sells Arches 7 x 10" watercolor paper for a relatively low price, so it's a good deal when looking for 100% cotton watercolor paper.

Love it. Sometimes the simplest landscapes can be the most beautiful. Thank you.

I like your use of neutral tint with ultramarine blue for shadows. That snow shadow thing has been a little elusive for me.
Love this, so pretty💗
So pretty! Happy Thanksgiving Ellen. 🦃
Thank you! You too!
So I'm sitting there painting, and my husband walks by as I'm going "pshew pshew pshew", ha ha ha
Question: if you disliked the snow spatters, can you remove them?
Hi Ellen, is there a reason you use a 7x10 inch paper instead of 8x10? the 7x10 would have a gap in a standard size 8x10 frame.

I found a 2 pack of the rubber cement pick-ups at the dollar tree.
