I do share bts imperfections and write a lot of vulnerable captions, I've talked about body image, losing my dad to alcoholism and ptsd from an abusive relationship. To answer your questions about how people can believe in both ghosts and reincarnation and/or past lives: I believe ghosts are lost souls. I don’t even think everyone becomes a ghost. If you die peacefully your soul goes directly to an afterlife (the other realm, the same place we all go when we dream). *But* I think some souls can get lost on the way there. Ghost stories usually revolve around a traumatic death (sudden accidental death, or deaths of betrayal like murder). Also, this is why many religions throughout time have believed a proper burial is essential in the journey to the afterlife as well, which is why if the person was betrayed by being murdered or perhaps they accidentally fell overboard and were lost at sea and their body was never recovered. In these situations, these souls are more likely to not make it safely to the river styx to make it to the passage to the other world. Some souls need a little more help making it to the afterlife, and that’s why you hear about ghosts that stick around (This is my theory based on lots of portrayals of the afterlife in media as well as real life examples of paranormal happenings that are usually linked to some sort of true crime). I think the time a spirit spends being a ghost also has a lot to do with the *mourning* of their past life (this is especially hard when they died suddenly and they were not prepared to mourn and give up their life. In other words, they aren’t ready to move on). Someone who died of old age or peacefully (perhaps after a terminal diagnosis) are more prepared for the afterlife because they spent time towards the end mourning their life before they passed on. It will take each spirit their own amount of time to mourn their prior life, but once they are ready to move on, they have the power within themselves to do so. They can be gently guided to do it, but ultimately, it is a decision they have to make on their own. Once they arrive in the other realm they can decide if they want to reincarnate on earth (or another planet) or not. Ultimately they have the power to decide because the universe only operates at the highest levels of love and light and that means allowing souls to fully consent to what they will sign up for on earth. When they decide to reincarnate, they must make soul contracts and decide ahead of time the major events of their life before it happens, so their soul remains (for the most part) in control of what happens to them. But that is just my own personal thoughts on ghosts/reincarnation/past lives. You’re of course allowed to have your own thoughts, opinions, or theories about what you believe the afterlife to be.
