Musée des beaux-arts: Silent nature, the landscapes of Odilon Redon, on display until September 11th

From the 20th of May until the 11th of September the summer exhibition of the Quimper musée des beaux-arts is dedicated to the artist from Bordeaux, Odilon Redon (1840-1916)
Comprised of works on loan from public collections (musée d'Orsay, Bordeaux musée des beaux-arts ) as well as from private collections, this exhibition explores the issues of the landscapes painted and sketched by the artist.
The wild and austere nature of the Medoc region, with its moors and swamps, echo's that of the Breton landscape discovered by the artist during his visits to Finistère and Morbihan in the years between 1870-1880
