*Samsung Galaxy S8 & S8+ VS S7 & S7 Edge - Everything You NEED to Know!* Enjoy this very in-depth comparison ahead of the S8's release in just a few days! Design, Display, Camera, Specs, Features, Price, Storage, Battery & so much more - covered in this video! Which one would YOU pick and why? Picking up an S7 Edge is actually a really good choice now!
Most in-depth comparison and explanation of the S8 I have seen. All the information you need point by point, no gimmick presentation, just a professional grasp of all the facts, highly recommended! All your Samsung S8 facts are here. Well done!
Hey Daniel, nice video, you covered all the relevant aspects that a customer want, niice. How about of doing a video about the 2017 iPad against the iPad Air in ultimate in depth comparison? Would you recommend a 2017 iPad over the Air or the Pro from 9.7"? Cheers M8!!!!!
Your videos are so good - you cover everything in detail!!! Do you work? Or study? How do you find time to do these videos? Just amazing. Thanks much :)
The DeX is primarily for business or people who just need a lightweight desktop client. RIGHT NOW there aren't that many apps, but in the future there could be. Developers can make their apps DeX compatible, and give a full-blown desktop version of their apps. Also, you can use a Remote Desktop app and logon to your company remote desktop (e.g. Citrix) and work directly from your phone, in a Windows environment. If you had to give your employees a work phone and a work laptop, you could give them this, and just setup a Citrix environment in the cloud they could logon. Or imagine in airports? They have DeX stations where you can just walk up and plugin your phone. So you can browse websites in Desktop mode on a larger screen, book/print plane tickets, check your e-mails, do business with Remote Desktop and at the same time, charge your phone. And when you're done, you just unplug your phone and leave and you got everything with you, and does't have to worry about "oh did everything et reset on that computer when I logged out" or stuff like that + if you're in a country where your 4G doesn't cover, for free, maybe the airport have Internet cables plugged into the DeX Dock and you can logon with their internet connection. I could also imagine that me and my wife, both got an S8. At home, we primarily use our phones, but if we needed a desktop environment, we just have 1 setup with a monitor and keyboard/mouse, and we can plugin the phone and work from there - and we just need 1 DeX dock to share, and when we're done, we unplug the phone and move on. No logging out, shutting down, Windows updates.... continuity... all these things! Because the documents you edit are saved on your phone, or in the cloud! So.... I think you underestimate the potential of the DeX.
Hey Daniel.. Fantastic video, really well and intelligently made, with no S8 Biase, just facts.. Ive been considering the S8 over my S7E for a few days now... but youve helped me decide to stay with my S7E.. at least until we get a few software updates for the S8 and also to see how the G6 weighs up.. You have a new subscriber and Thumbs up.. Thanks again, keep up the great work :)
One thing I like about the S8 curve is that it doesn't really wrap around the sides as much as the previous phones (start from the note edge). It will decrease the chance of confuse the touchscreen
Thanks for that in depth video. I stayed to the very end as I do with all your video's. If I had to choose one it would be the S8. Already have the S7E. Waiting until this fall until I can make a decision on either the S8 or the Note 8. Keep up the nice work.
Always enjoy your videos my guy. Made it to the end as always. When is your in depth review of the S8 coming though? So sad how you tease us with that blue "clone" all the time 😄
Go into developer options and you can speed up the phone and everything including apps opens up insanely fast!! Everything from Internet to messages to UA-cam become virtually instantaneous.
Thanks for the info BTW, the color orchid is pronounced OR-kid (the ch makes the k sound. The OR is capitalized to show it's where the pronunciation accent is. Otherwise I'd have typed or-KID to emphasize the part you had incorrect.)
I actually like using samsung health and the calendar, so the bigsby might be good for that (though I think it would be nice if you can remap that button for things you use more).
Seriously considering changing my phone now and the main contenders are S7 edge and S8. However the dealbreaker for me is that ridiculous placement of the fingerprint scanner on S8. I've wanted to have a phone with such for a while now and the S8 seriously disappoints on that part.
A much larger and brighter screen with battery the same size, or even smaller in the case of the S8+ compared to the S7edge. No surprising that all the benchmark tests indicate only about 3 & a half hours of screen on time. With a fully new, out of the box phone. My S7edge can do that after being used for a whole year and when it was new, I could easily get 5 hours or more.
What an incredible increase in screen size! What amazing technology is befind it? Try geometry. It's only around for a couple of thousand years, but since you haven't heard of it, here's your mistake: You keep confusing diagonal length with display size. So your claim that the S8 has a lager sreen than the note 7 is wrong by more than 1 sq inch.
I'm using both, Google does "Speak" Spanish or English what ever and interacts better with internet things. Bixby only Speaks English (Korean too but it is not a language we study in Spain) but works perfect for Samsung's stuff and you can do many configuration stuff perfectly.
In theory, you could upgrade any phone's storage to 2tb with a sd card, as long as it uses microsdxc. "microsdxc" is used in all cards ranging from 64gb to 2tb. My s5 mini has a recommended max sd card capacity of 64gb, but easily handles 128gb with no problems. Same goes for s7 & s8. samsung advertises that their phones support up to 256gb, but can support up to 2tb because they support microsdxc. the only thing is that no (affordable) 2tb solutions exist as an fyi, sdhc cards go up to 32gb, so a phone that advertises up to 32gb will not support over 32gb, but sdxc does. you should really read an article instead of listening to me. im quickly typing this on a windows tablet w/ a crappy on screen keyboard. but anyways, you get the point; your phone can have just as much storage as my pc.
s8/s8+ is worth it if coming from a two-year-old model or older, but probably not a one-year-old model. I upgraded to the s8 from my iphone 6 Plus and it is a huge improvement.
I actually just got the update to Nougat, for my S7 from AT&T, while I slept last night. I checked my S7 from Verizon and it still doesn't have it. What's funny is that I just factory reset my AT&T S7 last night too. Both will be retired with Oreo far out of sight.
I know you were just joking around when you said "why would Samsung put out a new phone and it not be better." Almost 100% of the time that's usually true. If you look at the HTC U Ultra and the previous HTC 10 you find that exception to the rule. The price, the battery, the processor from 820 to 821,no headphone jack on the "newer, " not better, Ultra and I could go on but I'll spare you the gory details. So normally I'd agree, but in this case, it's surprisingly not true. BTW... I love your videos and your professionalism. Really nice, thorough videos along with quality, detailed, accurate information. Thanks.. Keith G
hey bro... can you just suggest me whether to go for s7 edge black pearl 128gb or s8...??? more important is that we have an latest update for s7 edge officially till nougat or s that possible samsung ill go for oreo....
to be honest the only big difference between the s7 and s8 is the bigger screen and iris scanner. bixby is useless because google assistant already exists and I think dex is too expensive ($150 dex dock+$100 monitor+$20 mouse and keyboard=$270 for a crappy desktop experience running mobile apps). the sd835 and exynos 8895 still lag behind the a10 and the phone will probably slow down after a year like before and will receive little to no updates. the camera received no big upgrade aside from a bit better software and smaller bump. the speaker is still terrible, and the fingerprint scanner is in a worse place too. in the end the s8 is still a great phone but a tiny bit disappointing for me.
For some, saving $50 a month on android internet is pretty cool!!! It's good for surfing and basic stuff online. I think it's a really cool feature. It's probably a lot fast then my desktop too~~
Morten Døssing Mortensen See, first of all I posted this comment because I was just curious to know the opinion of you guys. You all are getting it wrong. I said no offence.
Hi there. I have the S5 at the moment but i am hoping to upgrade to the S7 Edge after watching this video of the comparison between the S7 and the S8. The S8 is not a bigger upgrade from the S7 edge however the hardware is just slighlty 20 percent better on the S8. It's not a big deal because every new galaxy is just a little bit better than the pervious galaxy. Samsung Dex and USB isn't really usefull because you can mirror your device wirelessly from your smartphone to tv, tablets , computers and laptops or notebooks. To enable this you could just download the app from the samsung app store. You can connect your Phone to the computer with a charging wire. Samsung dex is just an installed feature like a mirror link is. Bixby is also unusefull because it essentially does the same thing as S voice and google voice. there are the same things you can seperatly do on a social networking sites and flipboard briefing . Upgrading the new nougat, software phone touchwiz is mostly the same and acceptable. It's no different from having an S8. The face and eye scanner isn't that neccessary at all because the fingerprint sensor is enough secure a phone. This feature won't work in the sunlight and it can also strain your eyes. It's just a gimmicky feature like Smart Scroll was on the S4. The dislpay is fantastic but the home keys are embedded inside the sceen with ugly looking icons. The fingerprint sensor is at the back which is annoying because you can easily make mistakes with unlocking your device by placing your finger on the camera lenze or on the flash and heart rate monitor. I am not a fan of LG smartphones. I am use to using the home buttons and a fingerprint sensor button around the outside of the screen like the S7 edge. The colour skin of the phones are not attractive like the s7 and s6 models were.
shahid mirza to behonest with you the screen is fantastic but in my opinion the home keys are embedded into the screen with ugly looking icons. The fingerprint sensor is implimented at the back of the phone which is soo irrotating. One more thing the screen resolution , screen size dimensions and pixle density is just slightly ahead of the s7 edge. Just for that gorgeous , sharp and vivid looking display i woudn't spend an extra £100.00 for the S8 which isn't a bigger upgrade from the S7. S8 is only a miner upgrade from the S7 edge with hardware. S7 edge is my dream phone and it's a handsome looking phone than the S8. I just hate the look and the touchwiz of the S8. It's deffinatly not my choice.
The following features are missing in the S8 and S8+ I know that the S8 and S8 plus has features which the S7 and or the S7 Edge does not have. smart stay - smart alert smart capture - easy mute direct call - direct share quick dial - palm swipe capture identify unsaved numbers And they don't have the Edge Feeds Sooo both S7/S7 Edge lack features which the S8 has and vica versa. Have a great day ZONEofTECH and happy Easter. I love your youtube videos.
Someone should re-map the bixby button into a dedicated home button. I'd rather not touch the one on the back. Heck, maybe you could use the button on the back as a google assistant button. Just spitballing here.
Unfortunate, as it seems that the "lousy" Nintendo Switch with its Tegra X1 chip demolishes the Exynos 8895 according to benchmark tests on notebookcheck.com. This is such a shame since the switch costs so much less and you get much better performance from it and also the fact that Samsung released the Galaxy S8 later and it STILL is trumped (performance wise) by the switch :( I guess I'll skip this one and probably the Galaxy Note 8 until, Samsung REALLY ups their performance game as they are falling behind: this is not the reason why I've always been a Samsung fan, Samsung has always been known for their top-notch performance but it seems like this isn't justified with the Galaxy S8 (Exynos 8895) this time.
Halo sir h r u, i am sathish....... i need mobile,i don't like samsung galaxy s8+ because size not comfortable and s8 or s7 edge which is the best mobile please answer me sir, main important battery life......... and thanks for video.............

Enjoy this very in-depth comparison ahead of the S8's release in just a few days! Design, Display, Camera, Specs, Features, Price, Storage, Battery & so much more - covered in this video!
Which one would YOU pick and why? Picking up an S7 Edge is actually a really good choice now!
ZONEofTECH I was epic enough to make it until the end of this video!
I'm picking up the S8 because the S8+ is only .4 inches larger and the specs are identical. The S8 is already larger than the S7 Edge.
Robertas S. They copied Apple
tips and tricks with the Galaxy S7 Edge
you are such a fanboy i have a 6s and the samsung s8 plus when i tried it was SO MUCH BETTER
I honestly don't think the finger print scanner on the back is that big of a deal
Blair' Shoop III ye I bet you within the 2 weeks people will get used to it 😒😒
Bam Boo first world problems am I right
i wish it's on the front but since it's on the back i don't give a fuck about where it is lol........cause i unlock my phone 70% on the table.....
Liked the way it was on Nexus 6P but I will see it on Wednesday when I get my s8 plus.
the problem is not being at the back the problem is the position. it's beside the camera.
Most in-depth comparison and explanation of the S8 I have seen. All the information you need point by point, no gimmick presentation, just a professional grasp of all the facts, highly recommended! All your Samsung S8 facts are here. Well done!
I laughed so hard at your intro 😂
I really appreciate how much work you put into your videos
i love your style Daniel! 😊
thanks for the great video!
+Philcarad Thanks Phil! Glad to hear that 😁
Hey Daniel, nice video, you covered all the relevant aspects that a customer want, niice. How about of doing a video about the 2017 iPad against the iPad Air in ultimate in depth comparison? Would you recommend a 2017 iPad over the Air or the Pro from 9.7"? Cheers M8!!!!!
Francisco Tamagnone nice phone
Exynos is so much better than snapdragon. i'm so happy that i will get Exynos
I prefer the design for the S7 Edge's screen. The round corners on the S8 put me off..
I also hate that
I'll stick to s7 edge for now.
MrXelium and if you are rich you don't care if you upgrade
MrXelium but i am updating from an iPhone 6s
Should I buy now s7 or s8?
Your videos are so good - you cover everything in detail!!! Do you work? Or study? How do you find time to do these videos? Just amazing. Thanks much :)
I'm upgrading from s3!!! YaY
Me tooooo!!! Are you getting the +?
Yes, the plus.
Epic Deception They copied Apple
Addison Tharpe Well since Apple has copied them it is time to return the favor?
Lady Major - that's a huge upgrade!
I pre ordered the s8 in black, can't wait🤗🤑😊
jayden lucky but I'm getting in Orchard Gray
Blair' Shoop III orchid is better, in black u cant see edge screen!
The Real Indian that's the point
Mario Cox i guess u don't want to see the edge screen
I'm switching for an S8 too. Were still using an old S3 ahaha it will be such a shock

*Who's here from the **#EPICNotificationSquad**?*
ZONEofTECH Desigur!! #EPICNotificationSquad
I'm 150% sure that S7/S8 aren't for me (i use iP 7 and looking forward to OP5). But your videos are always good and packed with exact content.
Jarosław Tabor , and Why isn't the s7 or s8 for you ? try to explain, plz
No I'm here because I wanted to !
s7 is actually brighter than the s8.
Hey Daniel.. Fantastic video, really well and intelligently made, with no S8 Biase, just facts.. Very nice video man, thank you!

very good comparisons thank you very much
I like your simple style and your sincerity. Very nice review. Thank you.
This guy is awesome!
I love your reviews and your comparisons
thank you for offering amazing content

Good job...never seen such a detail comparison done b4. Thanks, going for S8!
Who's watching this in 2027 on their Samsung Universe S58
vortexx Me. The battery lasts a week! 😁
Finally a good detailed comparison. Thanks
New is always better! "Barney Stinson"
sasajungic89 YES!!!! I was just about to comment that!!!
sasajungic89 that's not true look at our new president
Clash Mine bro Studios Damn it you are right 😂
sasajungic89 OMG I miss that show.
sasajungic89 not really
Always enjoy your videos my guy. Made it to the end as always. When is your in depth review of the S8 coming though? So sad how you tease us with that blue "clone" all the time 😄
thank yoy, Daniel!!! good review it covers all 👍👍👍
Go into developer options and you can speed up the phone and everything including apps opens up insanely fast!! Everything from Internet to messages to UA-cam become virtually instantaneous.
Thanks for the info
BTW, the color orchid is pronounced OR-kid (the ch makes the k sound. The OR is capitalized to show it's where the pronunciation accent is. Otherwise I'd have typed or-KID to emphasize the part you had incorrect.)
Best comparison review. Thank you. Still looking at a S7Edge in 2017.
the Arctic silver is also available in Europe :) preordered mine (switching from a s5)
Thanks Daniel! Awesome comparison. It is very helpful. If you want some feedback I might suggest you speak a little more slowly. Great job!
S7 EDGE BABY
This is one of the best start... Subbed
I actually like using samsung health and the calendar, so the bigsby might be good for that (though I think it would be nice if you can remap that button for things you use more).
Do you guys expecting the Note 8?
- BWP - like the iPhone 8
- BWP - rear scanner?
- BWP - Or they can delay it, they have 3 options as I've heard from other UA-camrs
Crap man UA-cam never puts you in my suggestion or sub box and I have your notification bell on
I pre-ordered the s8 plus in midnight black and I've never been this anxious to finally have something in my life😂
Seriously considering changing my phone now and the main contenders are S7 edge and S8. However the dealbreaker for me is that ridiculous placement of the fingerprint scanner on S8. I've wanted to have a phone with such for a while now and the S8 seriously disappoints on that part.
Waiting for 4k :)
Thank you for such an indepth review 😊
moving up from a Samsung S6 to a Samsung S8.
good video. I didn't know the processor on the S8 consumed less power than the S7. Not really surprised though
A much larger and brighter screen with battery the same size, or even smaller in the case of the S8+ compared to the S7edge. No surprising that all the benchmark tests indicate only about 3 & a half hours of screen on time. With a fully new, out of the box phone.
Lmao, the intro 😂
damn you got me confused with ending it early
I'm using both, Google does "Speak" Spanish or English what ever and interacts better with internet things. Bixby only Speaks English (Korean too but it is not a language we study in Spain) but works perfect for Samsung's stuff and you can do many configuration stuff perfectly.

the only thing is that no (affordable) 2tb solutions exist
as an fyi, sdhc cards go up to 32gb, so a phone that advertises up to 32gb will not support over 32gb, but sdxc does.
you should really read an article instead of listening to me. im quickly typing this on a windows tablet w/ a crappy on screen keyboard.
but anyways, you get the point; your phone can have just as much storage as my pc.

black sky?
you mean Midnight Black.
well the sky is black at midnight lol
my dick is midnight black
nicoxis No its dark blue
He's Daredevil
Love the start!
Would take the S7 edge if i could get the 64gb version.
actually here in Indonesia, the s8 costs a tad cheaper than s7 edge when it was launched a year ago.
No one needs Bixby T_T neither that crappy button for it.
I do have Samsung Smartthings, but it works with the google assitant. If they added more features to controlling my smarthome I would use Bixby.
hey bro... can you just suggest me whether to go for s7 edge black pearl 128gb or s8...??? more important is that we have an latest update for s7 edge officially till nougat or s that possible samsung ill go for oreo....
The fingerprint scanner on the back is really good it's not bad
best review ever!!

i would go for the s8+ and i made it till the end because your videos are epic ;)
For some, saving $50 a month on android internet is pretty cool!!! It's good for surfing and basic stuff online. I think it's a really cool feature. It's probably a lot fast then my desktop too~~
Some say that fingerprint reader is secure. What if someone places your finger while you are sleeping? Just wanted to know! No offence please!
Abhay Karthik then get some security on your damn house or room xF
William Alvarez oh so you have discovered the world hasn't. Fool.
How often do you sleep in a room with people who you don't trust with your phone laying out to just grab?
Morten Døssing Mortensen See, first of all I posted this comment because I was just curious to know the opinion of you guys. You all are getting it wrong. I said no offence.
none taken. :) But what do you want to know? If we think it's likely to happen? I don't think it is
I absolutely loved your introduction.
I was epic enough to make it until the end!
Presented well... 👍 nd thq
Still using Samsung Notes and Calendar, do not need to install a third party app. Iris Scanner quite cool, like the Mission Impossible
the only reason I use Samsung is due to the Notes taking feature. no phone can do sounds and notes at same time.
Hi there.

S7 edge is my dream phone and it's a handsome looking phone than the S8. I just hate the look and the touchwiz of the S8. It's deffinatly not my choice.

Btw you can get the blue one here in Austria as well.
I have a galaxy s7 and the galaxy s8 is now on sale (if i trade in) for only $400 do i buy??
NVIDIA description you are comparing S8 with S7 but in the actual video you are comparing S8 with S7 Edge ???????
bro you forget about mention ...the one of main feature in galaxy s8
....1gdps LTE speed
I have an samsung s5.. i dont know if i should upgrade to the s8 or wait for note 8
Baban Kim same here, I'm waiting for the note 8
Baban Kim same here. I'm debating on the S7 or the S8. The Note is too big.
I already got the s8 its perfect
The following features are missing in the S8 and S8+
I know that the S8 and S8 plus has features which
the S7 and or the S7 Edge does not have.
smart stay - smart alert
smart capture - easy mute
direct call - direct share
quick dial - palm swipe capture
identify unsaved numbers
And they don't have the Edge Feeds
Sooo both S7/S7 Edge lack features which the S8 has and vica versa.
Have a great day ZONEofTECH and happy Easter.
I love your youtube videos.
if you're paying double the price do you get double the phone ? No! Which is why I went with the s7 edge.
Was it just me or was anyone else pleasantly shocked at how cute he is. I had a hard time paying attention lol
ryujinjakk4 Your point is?
I was like "Wait whaaat??? I just clicked on the vid " lol :)))
Daniel if you didn't keep remind us of what you video was about we'd never have guessed!!!!!
great comparison. Good job. L & S!
I was epic enough to make it till the end! xD
I stay to the end. Nice job.
You should've done the review when you have the s8 in your hands
Someone should re-map the bixby button into a dedicated home button. I'd rather not touch the one on the back. Heck, maybe you could use the button on the back as a google assistant button. Just spitballing here.
Galaxy S7 edge curve part of display gets a lot of light reflectance compared to S8.
Greg Aka Drizzle Bad of course. It's distracting.
Pls do S6 vs s8
lovr this guy
Your hair looks so much better.
Camera video bitrate and fps... great analyz, thanks
