As a Balinese i really appreciate your video. To explain it thoroughly is almost impossible in just 12 minutes, but i think you're already spot on. But there is some bit of information that lacks the detail. In Bali we don't always bury the dead and then cremate the remain, there are some condition for a body to be cremated right away. First if the body of the person mostly came from higher caste, second, if the family of the deceased have good financial, third, since the burial place can only be in the family village's cemetery, if the person is being far away from his/her family home, they cremated like in crematorium, and last if the person passed away that doesn't meet the requirements of the 5 year cycle of mass cremation. You see in bali we have this mass cremation that orchestrated on every village every 5 years, if it is impossible for a body to decompose into skeleton, they cremated it right away. But anyway nice video, keep up the good work
Thank you so much for sharing these additional details - the context is very important and your comment really helps in better understanding of the cremation practices in Bali 🙏🙏🙏
It is a very interesting video especially to know about the Hinduism in Bali. It has prompted me to read more about its evolution in this region. Thank you Sidharthaji !
That’s awesome! There’s so much to learn about how faiths flow, integrate and create something unique. I’ve always been fascinated with Hindu and Buddhist practices in SE Asia and only now learning about their evolution there as well…
Loved it ❤ I have been to Bali but still I could sincerely enjoy your video till the end because of the sincerity you have put and how you didn't focus on the clubbing, resorts and just what we need to know ❤️
I like ur shows and content ,little correction- plz note jainism was also flourishing at same time , you can read in huen tsangs book also , in badami also you did not show jain caves , they are contributing equally in archeology and history. It will be unique if you would have shown, no hatred just suggestion❤
You are absolutely right. The only reason I only talked about Buddhism and Hinduism in India is because of what follows next - both these religions in Bali. Buddha and Mahavir were contemporaries, and Jainism started before Buddhism. It’s one of India’s greatest religions and hopefully I’ll do a story around Jainism as well here :)
Thank you Sir for your amazing work....Bali & Bharat...just like the son and mother.....I bow to bharat land for spreading dharmic culture to Bali where I was born and grew up. JAI SHRI RAM, JAI SHRI HANUMAN🎉🎉🎉
Indeed, but not always. I was recently in Kanchipuram but the ponds at temples there aren’t accessible for bathing. Also in Chennai. In many smaller places I think the practice might still be followed…
Hi Siddhartha, are you still in Bali? We lost one of our ring there and after coming back to India we got a call from the driver that he has it. Can you please bring it back to India we will take it from you. Or is there anyone you know who can help us with this?
I prefer to keep my personal life a little away from online life, but will surely make a video or do a livestream this year to share more details about myself 🙌
You are a real "post-modern" world explorer...❤ Glad to see our culture survived there after so many turmoils in the history of Indonesian Politics...
That’s true - it did have an existential crisis even recently a few decades back and has survived nevertheless!

Some bit information. We dont allow bury dead body of priest & high priest (pandita & pinandita). Their body will cremated right away
