The footage during the "we are always with Insomnia" line is the moment they found out they finally won a music show after 5 1/2 years of working their way up that metaphorical staircase. They started with street busking for promotion, at the time of Scream they had moved up to busking *inside* the mall. The support of (mostly international) Insomnia was the only thing keeping the group just hanging on as a business for all those years so they REALLY mean what they said at the beginning. And made a whole song about it. If you want to lose all the fluid in your body through your eyeballs watch the documentaries about their first win.
Dreamcatcher are best known for their intense, powerful sound mixed with those soft moments, but since they are all real vocalists they have done a lot of songs in most of the styles you can think of. Sentimental piano ballad (Heart of Sunflower), happy and upbeat (Airplane), cuuuuuute!!!!! (Cherry Real Miracle or Playground), just relaxing and vibing (All Day Long), whatever Red Sun and And There Was No One Left are, and more.
They are also funny AF (Dreamcatcher Funny Moments or dozens of other compilations). They put out tons of content to keep people engaged.
☹️ that is so sad to hear, how much they’ve struggled just to get to where they are today and yet.. still not a lot of people appreciate them, just because they’re “different”. Just watching the M/V already made me feel thingss.. so how much more when I really get into them more. It’ll be a journey for sure.

@@sassjastans Dreamcatcher are so wholesome even people who don't know anything about them pick up on that watching Reason. It is a happier story from Scream (2020) and beyond. I call their Dystopia trilogy (Scream, Boca, Odd Eye) and stand-alone song BEcause (2020-2021) the Dreamcatcher Golden Age because they gained so many fans every comeback, made a bunch more money from streaming and doubling album sales, and couldn't stop going viral for whatever unreasonably cool or hilarious thing they did. Since 2022 I've thought of as their Korean Age (Apocalypse trilogy Maison, Vision, Bon Voyage and latest project OOTD) because they started winning music shows and industry awards, performing at the award shows, and selling out big concerts in Seoul at the start of their tours.
Plus, they were kind of cheating when you saw all that crying. It was mostly Siyeon and Gahyeon, well-known cry babies, and a big part of what you saw was happy cries 🤗. Reason inspires a lot of crying while headbanging.
This songs is literally all 7 flexing their vocals and skills... Checking out their live performance for this song is a must
I definitely will! Omygosh. I’m sure I’ll discover more songs that I like as I go through their music but I think this song will have a special place in my heart so I can’t wait to watch the live performance! 😍

You're right, the fandom name is InSomnia, and Reason is for Dreamcatcher's 6th anniversary last Jan. 13, 2023.
The high note at the bridge was the main vocal, Siyeon. She was also at the first chorus with the lead vocal Yoohyeon. For the second chorus, it was the leader/lead vocal Jiu then the main dancer Sua.
Fun fact: the footage at the bridge is from when they got their first win after 5 yrs of activity, pretty historic if you ask me hehe
This song is definitely amazing live, it's also one of my fave Dreamcatcher songs.
Regarding their history, I think that when they debuted, they weren't instantly popular due to their rock sound (they also came from a smaller company), since rock/metal isn't really popular in Korea. The girls really worked hard to get to this point of their career, though if I'm right, they are still more popular overseas than in their own country. Having the rock sound was definitely a high risk move, since they struggled, but I'm really thankful they pushed through, since I think they opened up the public to the genre. We also call them the Face of Rock in K-pop!
Hi again! Hehe I need to like, get to know more about these ladies. I shall definitely check that out once I’ve listened through their discography. I tend to start with that first hehe but I’m sure through it I’ll already discover who these individual ladies are but dangggg, they are so talented!
It must’ve really been difficult for them, especially- like what you said- since their music (and genre) are not usually appreciated by k-pop fans. But at this point though, I feel like people (in general) should stop being boxed in the concept of what constitutes “k-pop” and just really appreciate the artists for who they are and for the music they put out. A lot of groups are so under-appreciated just because they don’t fit the “mold”. Sad but I’m glad there are people like you guys and us, who really appreciate the music for what it is.
"Reason" is the fan-song for Dreamcatcher's 6th anniversary. I can't even begin to describe how proud I am of them. They're flexing their rock and vocal muscles, while all three rappers make an appearance. InSomnia might be lifting them up, but they should know, they are also carrying us. Happy 6th anniversary, Dreamcatcher!

I wouldn't be surprised if the animations were done by a fan, I seem to recognize the style. Whoever did them, they did a great job. I see the book from the Nightmare arc, the mask from Scream, the gun from R.o.S.E Blue, the gagged bust from Boca, the cup from Odd Eye, the hand through the mirror from Good Night and the clock from Piri.
Musically, I am in heaven. I'm a metalhead and I love the song. AND THAT RIFF! 🤘🎸 Obviously the song is an absolute anthem!

@@sassjastans You can do an album reaction for Versus Villains, pretty much each track shows off the vocals in one wat or the other... plus if you start doing album reactions, we love out Dreamcatcher intro tracks... don't skip. For this album the title track is OOTD, and the B-sides are Rising, Shatter and We Are Young.
Dystopia : The Tree of Language is their first Korean full album which is a wide range of awesomeness.
Apocalypse : Save Us is their 2nd full album and includes solo tracks for every member, each with a special clip (lower budget MVs).

I lost my count about how many times i cried to this song tbh. Im glad u liked the group and u listened to this 3 songs u already did.
Reason is a really special song, most of the comment gonna tell u that. The song makes even more sense after knowing all the struggles they had to overcome.
There are some videos (i mean, really complete and informative videos) about all this. Guides and a specific video about dodging disbanding and fraud aswell. It was hard.
But they did it and got their first win on 2022.

Fan fact: The staircase looks just like the stem of the Dreamcatcher lightstick called Mongmongie (Dream doggie). The lightstick can extend to huge proportions (as we have seen in concerts) and it holds the Guinness World Record for the longest K-Pop lightstick. It expands endlessly, just as the never ending staircase Dreamcatcher had to climb to get to their first show victory after 1923 days after debut, and the recognition from the Korean public. All this time they have been exponentially more known outside of Korea with a big international fandom, than locally. After many heartbreaks, Scream came out, alongside their best album ever, Dystopia: The Tree of Language. This album propelled Dreamcatcher to local and international stardom. To their fans, it meant that finally their huge talent was recognized by many. After a couple of years, after releasing more great music, they even won their two show wins with Maison. Many other music awards followed after that.
Reason was the very last song Leez ever wrote with Ollounder, as he moved on to High Hat to produce a new group. Leez was one of the main producers for all Dreamcatcher songs till that point and is the genius behind the amazing music they made all those years, alongside them. Reason is also their goodbye to Leez and their amazing collab. He was also their Reason, along with Ollounder and the fandom.
I did kind of notice that, the way the staircase looked like the lightstick. I’ve seen one but not up close and it looks so cool! I think their lightstick represented them well. 🥰 Reason is such a nice song and it’s also such a nice way to “close” a chapter, with their producer. 🥹
The staircase represents their journey and it sometimes feeling like a never ending uphill fight, they thank their fandom (Insomnia) for the support give to them through all these years. This song is indeed awesome live, haven't experienced it live in person yet but I can't imagine how amazing that is! Hope you will keep reacting to them!
I feel like it really must’ve been also taxing for them, they’ve been in the industry for such a long time and yet they’e not as appreciated by a lot of people. I hope they don’t lose the will to keep pursuing their dreams. ☹️

They are so hopeless but still doing their best for insomnia's
And all thier hardwok, hard journey and dedication got paid when they got thier first win,
And to us insomnia is very happy seeing them receiving the fruit of thier hardwok and talent.

Under-appreciated artists deserve all the recognition so I believe someday soon (albeit it possibly being a hard journey) they will achieve even greater things! As long as more and more people discover them, I’m sure the girls will really have more reasons to push thru. So glad that you got more interested with dreamcatcher. Since from your Scream mv reaction ,i gave you a list of their discography, this time a list of other miscellaneous things.
If you want to know more about them and their history, i would recommend watching a video created by the YT channel Mera called "Dodging Disbandment and other extreme sports: a history of dreamcatcher" very informative and its one of the most recommended videos to new fans or fans in the making of the group. It tells you everything leading up to their Deja Vu era, and how they came to be dreamcatcher, because they used to not be known as dreamcatcher before.
Also the guides can obviously give you more insight into their off-stage personalities which in one word: CHAOTIC.
Also just for funsies, highly recommend Insomnicsy's youtube channel, which is a fan channel and it has a whole bunch of funny compliations/series and stuff. One being the "This Is...." series, goes through every member one by one, shows different sides of them, has 3 years worth, one for each year since 2020.
insomnicsy is really THE BEST fan channel on all of UA-cam, I think.
Nobody else does it like she does it because nobody else LOVES their group like insomnicsy LOVES Dreamcatcher. :)

There are girl rock bands! The poster child for that niche goes to Rolling Quartz these days. Solid discography imo. They’re also fans and friends with Dreamcatcher. Their vocalist and drummer have covers of Dreamcatcher songs on their individual channels and Rolling Quartz also have an official cover of Dreamcatcher’s Good Night.
As for Dreamcatcher, people usually start with their trilogies. There’s two, the Dystopia and Apocalypse trilogies. Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy so I would recommend listening to Boca then Odd Eye in that order as they are the number 2 and 3 of the Dystopia trilogy respectfully.

12:15 that would be a great idea! I pretty much sure it would be a perfect loop. In a similar sense, they always had fun when performing "Silent Night" and keep repeating the ending part while headbanging and jumping around on the stage.
5 of the members actually started as a different group with 'typical bubbly kpop' and later re-debuted as Dreamcatcher (and add 2 members). While the members had nothing against rock music (also Siyeon was a vocalist of a rock band during her school years), but they still worried if they will get more success than before since Dreamcatcher's concept never existed before in kpop idol world. Yes, rock music has its fans in SK but mostly indie. In kpop idol world, it's an uncharted territory. Thankfully, the very same concept was very well-received by international fans. In their home turf, they had a couple of nominations but only able to get a win after 1924 days (5 years+) from debut. So yeah, of course they cried at 3:33.
'Reason' was their 3rd song dedicated for Insomnia. First one was "Full Moon" (2018), and the next one was "Over the Sky" (2019).

Their first win after 5 years? I can only imagine how overwhelming that day was for them. I bet they didn’t imagine winning at all because like what you said, it’s not as appreciated in the “kpop” world. So, their win was well deserved. 🥰 wishing more people (esp in SK) discover them!

Actually, there's an actual All Girl Rock Band that you can check out..the name of the Band is Rolling Quartz...and they all InSomnia...they even have a Dreamcatcher song cover in their album, a song called 'Good Night'...you can check the MV of the song for both Dreamcatcher & Rolling Quartz...

So far, I like your reactions to Dreamcatcher. They are my Ult Group.
Along with being SO GREAT at what they do, they are also GOOD people. In my opinion, nobody deserves to be successful in what they do like GOOD people deserve success. They also happen to work for an uncommonly nice company (Happyface Entertainment/ Dreamcatcher Company). The members seem to have a lot of freedom in how they go about doing things as opposed to groups under other companies.
For instance, the members of Dreamcatcher do not have diets forced on them by the company and they are not supervised as far as what they eat or how much. They all can eat freely and they each take responsibility for their own dietary needs. They also know that to be healthy, exercise is required. They are all dancers to some degree so they are all aware that they need to stay in shape (some are just better dancers than others but they are all dancers).
Some of these ladies have known each other for over a decade. They have become like family to each other (including members who were introduced more recently). The entire company is more like a giant 'chosen family' environment than 'just some place to work'. It's really an awesome thing to see such a special situation. Too bad theirs is not the 'normal' situation for all companies on Earth.
