Just a couple of thoughts I wanted to share related to category Romances. I read them years ago and have recently picked them back up again for 2 big reasons. #1- the world is crazy and I needed an escape with that guaranteed happy ending. #2- I have a pretty stressful job and because of a serious case of Covid back in 2020 I sometimes have trouble with concentrating and maintaining focus. That makes reading many other books difficult with multiple settings, scenarios, characters- I found myself re-reading over and over again to catch up or remember, what was happening to whom. It took a month, sometimes to finish a book. Not so with Harlequin. They are to the point without a lot of extra characters and "stuff" and I am reading more than I have in years, loving all the great, and different story lines - which you do not always see in general fiction. I have started to recommend them to others that I know have lost the ability to read like they used to for one reason or another but miss it. Thank you Harlequin, and Sarah, for sharing your love for these great stories!!
In the Netherlands we have Harlequin too, although they are not an independent publisher anymore here, they’ve been taken over by Harper Collins, but since Harlequin has been here for decades and is a very well known name, they kept that for the category romance they publish. HQN for short.
I also think they should reintroduce themselves to younger generations through a thorough marketing campaign. Send out books to influencers on UA-cam and Tiktok, all the lines to perspective customers and respective audiences.
Hi Sarah: Do you collect categories beyond the current Harlequin lines? I have a signet regency romance by Mary Jo Putney that was reworked and republished under a different title and I am thinking of unhauling the original book. If you're interested, I'd be happy to send it to you. It's titled, The Would-Be Widow, retitled The Bargain.
@@bjminton2698 yes, he is. His outright hate for a stereotype that he believes to be true was…..unsettling. Makes you wonder why he hates a whole region and whole religion. He has a lot of hate in him. I told Sarah in a later video that I won’t be watching anymore videos with him in it. I’m making my way through all her older videos so I got to be careful to read the title before clicking on it.
Nooooo! I missed my chance to ask rude raunchy questions and make jokes about how the only romance novel I’ve ever read is Pride and Prejudice! Nooooooo!!!!!
Estherjane here. Missed the end live. But what fun and informative. Thanks😊
Love that you are going to do another live and at a time compatable for us in the UK. Looking forward to it.

They need to revive, The Blaze line, if they want on tiktok that's how they do it. Not any of this other stuff

I know they do send out books but I've noticed they look for big name tictok and Instagram people... not necessarily if they read Category

Yes! Please and thank you
That’s a pretty negative portrayal of Christians in the Bible Belt.
SD seems to be quite proud of his bigotry...
