About 60 or 70m mark Ben Johnson’s right foot actually crosses the line. His upper body and arm are in CARL Lewis’s Lane! Should he have been disqualified?
Ben Johnson had a great start early in his career, but he never could sustain his top end speed past 50 meters. It wasn't until he got involved with Charlie Francis and Jamie Astaphan and began taking the steroids that he was able to sustain that speed and finally beat Lewis. Unfortunately, what wound up ruining him was when he injured his hamstring. He tried everything he could to rehab it and when it wasn't working he decided to dose with the stanozolol and didn't read the label which said "do not take 21 days before competition and he took it 18 days before and because of that the drugs weren't able to clear his system and he wound up getting busted.
I read his coach (Charlie Francis’s book ) and he said that the drug found in Seoul was not in his drug regimen. Only Dr Jamie could have given that to him - remember there was some tension in the team before Seoul
Francisco Morillo Montaño they all were. They were likely doing hgh too because their heads and faces were getting bigger, which caused their teeth to shift and have gaps, so they got braces. How many 25 guys do you know that wear braces?
Canadians were so naive, except Dick Pound. He made a very prosperous career out of sacrificing Ben at the Seoul Olympics. Many years later Charlie found out the Stanazolol in Ben’s B Sample was pure. Impossible, unless put there in the lab. Ben told the truth in the Dubin inquiry following the Seoul Olympics, because it was a serious legal proceeding. He admitted to taking steroids and for how long, but he never admitted to using Stanazolol in 1988. Since security in the drug testing area had broken down so badly in Seoul, the IOC could not prove that Ben took Stanazolol before the race, so they reverted to taking his medal away for another reason, Ben’s hormone profile. He was the only athlete the IOC penalized, even though most of the power and speed athletes had the same endocrine profile as Ben, including many big name medalists. Charlie knew all this information soon after the Olympics, except the information about Ben’s B sample which came years later. But the damage was done, and the public was never given the real story. Even today, most people still think Ben lost his medal for a positive Stanazolol test. Ben was a sacrificial lamb led to the IOC slaughter, ensuring that Carl and America would get their coveted gold medal, even though Carl had failed a US administered doping test prior to the Seoul Olympics. The head of the US drug testing program had written a letter to the US Olympic Committee to have Carl taken off the team, but he was overridden. He subsequently left the drug testing program, feeling that it’s true purpose was to teach the athletes and coaches how to beat the testing system, not how to win clean. The only thing dirtier than the athletes in those days were the politics.
I used to be a weightlifter and knew some of the athletes who testified at the Dubin inquiry. every one of them who testified got blackballed from their sports they weren't allowed to become coaches and the ones who already were lost their jobs. the entire thing was a joke they had the doctor that was supplying many of the US athletes with drugs there testifying they could have asked him to give up his list of names and it would have blown the whole thing wide open. Instead the IOC added a rule that if you admitted to using steroids they would take away any previous achievements you made and they took away Ben's WR time from Rome.

@shaanee- What he trained himself to do was to stop anticipating the gun. The False Start Detection System analyses pressure on the starting blocks from 0.3 seconds before the gun to 0.7 seconds after the gun. So the runner has to start exerting increasing pressure on the blocks 0.3 seconds BEFORE the gun and reach the maximum allowable force 0.7 seconds AFTER the gun to be hit with a false start.
Lewis jumped over 28' feet multiple times in the same meet, not 29'. The world record is barely over 29' and I don't believe Lewis ever crossed the 29' threshold.

Ben ran 10.0 in this race finishing 3rd. He looked rather slim at first glance. I wonder if he laid off the PEDs to gauge where he truly was, then seeing how poorly he performed upped his juice for the Olympics, because by the time he got there his physique was markedly larger than what we see here only a month before. Of course, we all know how well he did at the Olympics and what all transpired and why. And of course, we know through evidence and admission that nearly all the racers in the Seoul 100 meter final were PED cheaters. Ben at least comes off as a sympathetic figure. Carl Lewis even after all these years comes off as an arrogant prick. His "gold" medal should be revoked as well, except the IOC stating that it was after the statute of limitations and therefore too late to do anything about it.
Lewis tested positive too. We all know that. Not at that particular time. Johnson tried to cheat in the Olympic games. Lewis cheated a year before that. Marion Jones and others have been caught too.
The masses like to think they know but in truth no proof whatsoever he was on the type of eastern block steroid/gh cocktail the Canadians and FloJo were on.

He wasn't on it at Seoul. I met his coach and talked extensively on this. They're well of it before the Olympics, because the muscle growth and water retention renders you stiff, which translates to slower.
@@johnnwako2488 he was not on roids at the Olympics, I've had long discussions about this with Bens coach Charlie Francis. Did he take roids, absolutely! But not at the games. It actually slows you down. They were all in the program and Carl was expelled from the Olympics for testing positive for 2-3 substances at the trials. Dick Pound, the head of the IOC confirmed this
The truth is more sinister than you will ever know but I will only tell you that Ben testing positive in Seoul was a revenge plot designed to ruin him. It was successful. Poor Charlie and subsequently Ben had no idea what went so terribly wrong. You may also notice Carl had facial reconstruction to deal with his years of HGH use.

About 60 or 70m mark Ben Johnson’s right foot actually crosses the line. His upper body and arm are in CARL Lewis’s Lane! Should he have been disqualified?
Yes..got smoked by Lewis
i like how the cera people chased him on his victory lap
Brian Washington. Ben was with Charlie Francis ( Scarborough Optimist) from the age of 15yrs...Jamie came afterwards...Just letting you know..
I read the book, he knew what he was doing and all of his coaches best athletes were using the same stuff.
Anthony Shelton you are correct...He knew what he was doing. He took a risk and got caught...
J Paul , yeah, he got caught for the substance that even wasn't in his medication regime... fishy, don't you think ?
I read his coach (Charlie Francis’s book ) and he said that the drug found in Seoul was not in his drug regimen. Only Dr Jamie could have given that to him - remember there was some tension in the team before Seoul

All people know that B.J. was doped. What people don´t know is that LEWIS WAS DOPED TOO.
Francisco Morillo Montaño they all were. They were likely doing hgh too because their heads and faces were getting bigger, which caused their teeth to shift and have gaps, so they got braces. How many 25 guys do you know that wear braces?

And what were the times for the other competitors??
Carl Lewis era uno de mis idolos cuando era chico.
He was complaining that a photographer's flash had triggered him to go.

Ben consistently had the fastest start - he trained to delay it so it wouldn't be called as a false start.
Mans too fast
@shaanee- What he trained himself to do was to stop anticipating the gun. The False Start Detection System analyses pressure on the starting blocks from 0.3 seconds before the gun to 0.7 seconds after the gun. So the runner has to start exerting increasing pressure on the blocks 0.3 seconds BEFORE the gun and reach the maximum allowable force 0.7 seconds AFTER the gun to be hit with a false start.
@@TheNYgolfer not according to his coach Charlie Francis
He wasn’t trained to delay it…the start was his biggest advantage and always improved dramatically when juicing

To me #BenJohnson was the better athlete in many ways.
Ben johnson is jamaican born. Usa dont like to loose😭
Johnson hadn’t lost to Lewis for a couple of years at this point. No wonder Carl was so happy to win the race!!
Ask Mike Powell if Lewis was "dainty n precious" when he jumped over 29 feet 3 times in one meet and one 29ft was INTO wind
Lewis jumped over 28' feet multiple times in the same meet, not 29'. The world record is barely over 29' and I don't believe Lewis ever crossed the 29' threshold.
Twilight Living and his gay daddy bugger each other every night. His mommy looks on barking while they bugger each other. LOL
@@christansdad Sorry but you are wrong, he did and more than once
@@christansdad In the 1991 World Championships Lewis’s final three jumps were 29’ 2.75” (wind aided), 29’ 1” (not wind aided), and 29’ 0” (not wind aided). Mike Powell jumped 29’ 4.25” (not wind aided) right after Lewis’s wind aided jump to officially break Bob Beamon’s long standing record and win the event. That record still stands. These are VERY easy to check facts.
Johnson was just baiting him up for the Olympics where he crushed Lewis. They were all on the juice so even field. Johnson is the greatest ever.
SSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHH don't burst the bubbles of the NPCs !!!!
They must stay ignorant of the fact that 99,9999999% of all world level athletes are on PEDs.
Lewis coming from behind as always.
@Daniel Laurence yes,Lewis was not a particularly fast starter,he often won by coming from behind, getting stronger as the race went on.
Look at the kids. They were so excited.....😁😁😁
I totally agree with everything you said. Lewis was an arrogant prick. Perfectly put.
Carl had that 5th gear. Slow starter but if he was close, he ran by ya!
Mofos today still mad at Lewis because Johnson cheated, lol! Well done CL!
That makes no sense.
Lewis tested positive too. We all know that. Not at that particular time. Johnson tried to cheat in the Olympic games. Lewis cheated a year before that. Marion Jones and others have been caught too.
Was Lewis on steoids...or other stuff like ephadrine!
kelikel2 Yes!
Obviously
The masses like to think they know but in truth no proof whatsoever he was on the type of eastern block steroid/gh cocktail the Canadians and FloJo were on.
There was proof of Carl Lewis failing drug test, he failed 3 in one year and they just let it go then another one that he said he accidentally took and they took his word for it and let it go. He admitted his self and said everyone was doing it and got away with it
Do you really believe Lewis was not doped as well?

This defeat was the reason Ben’s doctor panicked and kept injecting him steroids even if the Olympics was a month away
He wasn't on it at Seoul. I met his coach and talked extensively on this. They're well of it before the Olympics, because the muscle growth and water retention renders you stiff, which translates to slower.
@@rich8381 I’m starting to believe this as well. It makes no sense to dope during competition and risk a positive test
