I noticed the border control officer touch her glasses with her gloves after she touched the fruit, she was also leaning on the food with both her arms. What's the point of wearing gloves if they are going to touch everything with the contaminated gloves and touch other things without protection?
She is obviously a repetitive food smuggler. She knows exactly what she's doing. Chinese do it all the time. They cant go anywhere without taking the kitchen food supply with them.
Considering she's putting Australia's agricultural industry at risk, $360.00 is a small slap on the wrist for someone who appears to be a repeat offender and admittedly knows better.
A pathetic $360 fine. Should be $3600 for her deceit. One wonders how many times she has done this before and gotten away with it. No excuses. Make the fine so severe that they may think twice about it. They don't care about destroying Australia's agriculture.
This is so weird. I remember once being so embarrassed when a dog alerted to an apple that one of my children had in their backpack when we were at the airport. It was leftover from lunch and we completely overlooked it. I always check my luggage before I pack now and I am mindful of the rules
Outright lying to the officer and signing what is supposed to be a legal government declation, no problem we'll charge you a few hundred bucks. Wow, what a deterrent.

We are too soft on people who bring these things in. High fines into the thousands the word should get around. You keep threatening court action well she is a fine example of take her to court. It all should have been taken off her.
Never been to Australia yet, but I understand the importance of protecting the environment. To be honest... I would say 2.000 dollars fine if that's the first time and 20K if it that's a second time. They should know the fine is high.
If they fail to declare the food, regardless whether or not some is ok they should forfeit all of it as well as receive a fine. It annoys me that the fine does not apply to each false declaration
Why is it when people fail to declare food or anything else, it isn't all confiscated on top of a fine? If you say you have nothing you walk away with nothing.
after watching this show for a few years now i wonder why every Asian person doesn't have to have a bag inspection every single time because it seems they all try to bring their entire food needs for 3 months back with them!
Why is it that people from some countries think they should bring items into another country that they can buy in the country to which they are travelling to? I don’t understand. I am sure that you can buy oranges in Australia!
It is these irresponsible people who make Asian people look bad. They just don’t care about the Australia’s agriculture. It should be a 3,600 Dollar fine instead of the pathetic 360 which is way too little for her. That’s why she doesn’t care about anything and would do it again in the near future 😒
I had a Chinese friend at university who told me how he had to play cat and mouse with his mother and granny to secretly dump the food 'treats' they loaded on him before he flew back to Australia. They were convinced he was going to starve.
dear border security better change the process its a advance world , sorry we are not living in 1900AD you should not be checking passengers at landing point ,,...
I don't THINK there is outgoing customs. I could be very wrong, of course. It's entering Australia that is the problem, not the fruit leaving mainland China.
Why would Chinese customs stop her? Chinese fruit isn’t forbidden in China. The country you’re flying out of isn’t responsible for enforcing the laws of other countries.
Why border/customs officers don’t call for an interpreter the moment they realize the passenger speaks poor or almost no english baffles me every time. Having an interpreter would make the check much faster and easier. «I thought the card was for all the luggage»….sure she did. Goods declaration cards are very clear and explicit. She knew that food wasn’t allowed, she tried to cheat and smuggle it anyway.
Ok , the fine are too o low , why don’t they just stay in their country to eat all they wanted? Why do they go to different countries and risk the life of other’s countries ? The law has to be change to protect their own people by not allowing them to step on land . The lying the yelling the disrespect to the officers from those passengers gets me every time .🤬

I use 2 travel 2 canada and would pack food but i always declared it. Mostly it was just snack and backpack type food. Only time i had 2 give up any food was when i bought fruit up in Canada and came back 2 the states.

Having been to Australia before, should the traveler have known better and declared the food? What do you think?
Absolutely! They blatantly lied on the card.
They should have ALL the food confiscated if they lied.
Fines should be higher to give them a huge OUCH!
I noticed the border control officer touch her glasses with her gloves after she touched the fruit, she was also leaning on the food with both her arms. What's the point of wearing gloves if they are going to touch everything with the contaminated gloves and touch other things without protection?

this series was shot such a long time ago. the fine is now about $2000+?

fines are pathetic
Fines should be thousands not hundreds of dollars
Absolutely no shame in lying 😮😮😮😮
And Australian citizenship so much for looking after your adopted country !
Why do they need to bring in oranges for God's sake. Like they have them in Australia ffs. And all they say is ohhh sorrie!
Honey! We’re out of oranges and apples, can you catch a plane over to China and pick some up 😂
