I am 63 and have listened to a lot of music as I love music. I really hope Benson becomes one of the greats of the 21st Century. Such a pure voice with a great vocal range. It has been a while since I have heard a male's voice that I really enjoy. In fact, the last 10 years I have mostly listened to female singers. But this young man has a talent in singing and song writing that I admire so much. A true talent.

I don't usually comment on UA-cam, but oh boy I can't keep my mouth shut this time and Benson YOU NEED TO HEAR THIS. The music industry today has gone really bad. Famous voices (the ones you hear on repeat on the radio) are influencing young people the wrong way. Most songs are about sex, drugs, money. Is this what life is about? Is this what young people aspire to? No wonder people have gone mad today. YOU ARE DIFFERENT. The first time I listened to Beautiful Things I got tears in my eyes. Probably the last artist who got me this emotional was Michael Jackson. You have something special and hands down to your parents for raising you so well. Please don't change. Choose carefully the people who are guiding you in this industry. Most of them will try to influence your style because their style "sells better". Don't get greedy. Stay true to who you are and be humble. You are my favourite new artist atm. I hope 5 years from now your songs will change the world. You're such a beautiful artist. PLEASE, PLEASE don't change!

Though it is true, it depends on the mood of the songwriter, some songs are well expressed, while some are just 70% swearing about sex or the preferred words they use "F-word", drugs etc. Leave a light on song was about drugs and it actually had a meaning which doesn't even influence anyone into doing drugs, which I guess what the lady above was trying to say. The way Benson express his words in his music is so clean, no swearing, not inappropriate, etc.

Before Benson came out I was homeless, on drugs, and then jail. I now have a house, job, and husband. This song and “Clover Cage - In the Moment” are the two songs that helped get rid of my depression. I just want to send love to everyone and I want everyone to know things will get better. This guy is an absolute star. He’s literally going to be one of the most successful singers, i can feel that. The world is evil, and hates Christian’s/catholics, this guy is a huge breath of fresh air. His music isn’t dirty or provocative, it’s like fresh linen, rain, a plant. This song hits for me, my wife and I met in high school. Now it’s been 6 years and we just got married in December. She is right now in basic training and I’m home at the moment. I’m always thinking about her and we write to each other as much as we can. That’s why this song hits different for me, I get chills just listening to it. He had a hand in writing the song, but looking at the liner notes of his album it shows that there were a lot of multiple writers on his songs. Which is the case for most artists now days.
