This is probably the first accurate skull crawler, the paint is amazing and it captures everything from the movie, the sculpt is also REALLY good. I can't wait for their Mechagodzilla If they also do toho figures, i hope they would do Shin godzilla.

I think I know why they used to gold paint for the teeth inside the skull devil's mouth. It's so you can see the teeth a lot clearer. Because If it was painted with just basic white paint, you wouldn't be able to see the teeth or even know that It has teeth. Inside its mouth to begin with. It's to prevent people from thinking. They made the skull double figure without a top row of teeth. It's to make the teeth on the inside of the mouth pop more. Basically, what I'm trying to say IS If they used white paint. On the teeth inside The skull devil's mouth. It would get camouflage with the white and red paint. That's on the The fleshy like inner part of the mouth.
Yeah I'm so happy that we finally have a articualted Skullcrawler that has a decent paint. I can't wait to get mine. Personally I don't mind the bendy wire cause I have some Neca Aliens and their tails have bendy wires and those are pretty solid ones at that. I hope they repaint this one into #10 that be so dope. One thing that just came to mind, Tamashii never released the Mothra larvae by itself, yet Mothra has immense popularity. They two packed the larvae with Battra larvae and secondly with the Imago Mothra. They can single pack Rodan in the SHMA, and here a character in a new Monsterverse series and without the huge popularity gets a singular release by a much smaller company.
This figure looks amazing, I definitely agree that the membrane is scary, and i definitely am worried about degradation. Here's hoping that if they do a 2.0 or something, they change that. I'm still excited about this!
Hey if they handle this figure like they did with GvK Goji (aka make a reissue with significant improvements) I think things will be fine for the Skull Devil Seriously you gotta check out GvK Goji reissue, updated neck, better head/teeth sculpt, more detailed dorsals, and better paint, Hiya do what MonsterArts don't

Hiya toys save me…first this, and now Muto. Hopefully we get more of the niche american kaiju, like Temet or Behemoth. Might wait for a repaint of this one based on Number 10 for GvK
Understandable, entirely. I have a feeling once they do a repaint, the rubber will be retooled for future releases onward. It was an interesting step for them to take, it’s just a shame it’s lead to an out of the box issue like this.

It's so the inside teeth show up better. So they're not camouflage with the rest of the pink and red and white colors of the skull devil's mouth. It's so you can see it better. It's to stop people from thinking that it was made without an upper row of teeth. Does that make sense? Shin robjira

I have the same issue with the membranes in the mouth. Mine are almost completely torn on the left side of the mouth. There is just a little bit keeping it together but I hope with the new Skullcrawler for GvK they make the membranes plastic or a material more durable than the rubber they used on the Skull Island one. (I'm pretty sure they used rubber but correct me if I'm wrong) I also hope they make it so the Skullcrawler can look farther up and down. I'm pretty sure they added another neck joint right before it transitions to the head so there's 3 neck joints instead of the 2 but I'm not sure if that's right. I'm currently looking at the photos for it, and there are 3 neck joints, the same on this one, and there's a small joint at the beginning of the neck segment of the figure on the GvK one. It also looks like they're doing the rubber membranes again, which sucks, but at least we're getting a repaint and technically a reissue for the Skullcrawler but it's just different paint.
Despite having mixed thoughts on Kong Skull Island, I really like the Skullcrawlers, been looking for a decent Skullcrawler figure, and the wait is now over.
This will likely be the best until the inevitable repaint/retool comes out at some point lol Glad we can finally add an articulated Danger Noodle to the shelves!
But I wonder if you're gonna do hiya femuto. Because if you're gonna do that one ooh boy. Cause that figure looks really good It's like they've taken that straight from godzilla 2014 And the articulation on this thing on the femuto. It's just beyond incredible. Like they captured the tripod Like details very well. Like it actually looks alien and parasitic. And they took that tripod like head design and they nailed it very good. Please review that next. Because that thing has 3 points of articulation in both the legs and the arms. So you can make it look like it's striking. Godzilla in its backspikes. Like I like that figure. It takes its tripod inspiration to heart. And I love it. Can't wait to see what other monsters hiya toys from the monsters they do. Because I want to see up a Behemoth And Methuselah And Sylla And some of the older monsters from the original Godzilla movies.

And also the Hawk moto as well. Because I've seen how they can experiment with. Removable heads With the KOTM. Rebirth Atomic heat ray Godzilla. And his GVK version. Which is basically the same thing. Just with added on hints of blue. So they could give. The Hawk muto. A.k.a. Male muto A dead Building in pale head. To go along with their King Kong figure. But that never happened. So let's see if hiya. Can make The same thing. An entire play set of Skull island Like That would just be just crazy. I would honestly like that. Wouldn't you ShinRobjira Because We've had play set. Like things before. With Godzilla or kong But I wish we got. An accurate skull island Play set That comes with both the skull devil and kong I can see hiya making battle sets is all I'm saying. One box with each figure. In one So you have KOTM. Another note, you've mentioned the tear in the mouth. I've just noticed that mine is also tearing. Has anyone else had this issue? Has anyone tried super glue? I'm considering super glue but am reluctant if anyone has tried and failed.

Hiya did the communist pricing probably so that other figures could be cheaper. I wouldn't be surprised if Heat Ray and Burning should've cost more due to having more parts and/or heavier paintjobs. But they probably just choose to give it the same price so some, like Goji can be cheaper. If you buy them all, you kinda paid the same probably had the pricing differs. It probably felt like how Marvel Legends is done. The BAF line all priced the same, but some got super smol figure, with another one being beeg. Yea, you can make the argument that the smol one still got the plastic worth since it got the BAF's torso, but issa waste and useless piece of unwanted plastic if you didn't get the entire line now is it? And I think if the pricing remains the same, except when it's significantly larger, so that customers could already prepare before every announcement, that everything would just be $51
The figure looks. Interesting. I like the face. And the feet. But i seriously don't like the jaw articulation... a huge no for me personally (because of stop motion). And the bendy wire tail. Is also a no for me. But it's still a cool figure. Also. Off topic. Last week, i got the hiya g19. And it had..... a lot of problems. To say the least... it's tail half broke today. Its left elbow feels like it's going to break. And it is super tight on one joint. And super loose on others. Even if the paint is good. It doesn't really mean much to me if the figure sucks for stop motion. (I've made a shma godzilla 2019 vs hiya godzilla 2019 animation. And even a shimo vs godzilla fight. Which after making that. It's convinced me to not make stop motions with it once i made the animation). But i probably got a bad one. Sorry if this comment is Amannoying. It just really upsets me that this figure was hyped up for me not just from myself. But the community constantly saying "it's better then shma in almost every way!!!" And for it to not be good... really not only upsets me. Not just upsets me. It angers me a bit. Sorry for the probably long rant.

Plus, some of my friends and my fanbase said to get it. And it breaking and being terrible for stop motion is being picky? It's not. I get them for stop motion. It's the WHOLE reason i get figures at this point. It's not being picky if it's stabbing me when i move it (not a little. I mean a lot. It makes my hands raw). And i think it's completely justified for me to be disappointed. People hype this figure up like it was a shma killer (mine wasn't. Not even close). For 6/8 something months straight. And when you are someone like me. Who makes stop motions. With thousands of frames in them. It's pretty understandable as to why they are bad. Because if people moving them for a pose is enough to break. Imagine that a thousand times over. And that's why i don't like them. On they're own there good. But for how fragile they are. And not being fixable. I'm going to have problems with that.

@@TheFallen-ff4xnit appears to have mixed answers all around. In the making of the movie, it’s revealed she’s female and the alpha of the smaller skull crawlers. Some dialogue in the film supports this. Some VFX artists have referred to it as a female. I believe the director at one point did too. But there’s the novel and other VFX artists calling it male. I just go with the female option because it just seems cooler. Angry Moms are scary.
Sorry the membrane on yours has a tear mark on it. I think they put membrane to prevent the loose jaw syndrome, like with the Hammond Collection Ready. I've complained about this on other reviews of this figure. The paint job is atrocious. Looks nothing like the movie from the neck down. I still can't believe people are saying they love the paint job. I'm glad you think this is not great. The back had a massive beige patch and so did the tail. I've already repainted mine as best I could.

Okay, unrelated, but I remember when KOtM came out, everybody loved it. But when GvK came out, everybody began to shite on it. Is it just me? Or did people just start dogging on that film for no reason?
Seems it’s just a mixture of the “honey moon phase” running out and GvK doing what more people wanted and the basic social back and fourth of media consumption. The same will further happen when GxK releases and so on. In reality, KOTM never stopped being a good movie with little issues.

Overall is fine, I do have some concerns about the membrane that made buy rubber, as in your video It is quite fragile and tears easily.

I have a feeling once they do a repaint, the rubber will be retooled for future releases onward. It was an interesting step for them to take, it’s just a shame it’s lead to an out of the box issue like this.
I may wait just To See If they retool this figure before deciding on getting this figure.

It's so the inside teeth show up better. So they're not camouflage with the rest of the pink and red and white colors of the skull devil's mouth. It's so you can see it better. It's to stop people from thinking that it was made without an upper row of teeth. Does that make sense? Shin robjira

@@ShinRobjira I mean to be honest . They could have just painted the teeth inside the mouth. Like a Stone color. Would have been nice. It would've made the contrast a bit better. But I think the gold is meant to show case. That drool effect. that's always in the skull devils mouth when it screams. And also When is shma or hiya Gonna give us some roar. Effects To make it look like they're roaring. Because i'd like that.

I have the same issue with the membranes in the mouth. Mine are almost completely torn on the left side of the mouth. There is just a little bit keeping it together but I hope with the new Skullcrawler for GvK they make the membranes plastic or a material more durable than the rubber they used on the Skull Island one. (I'm pretty sure they used rubber but correct me if I'm wrong) I also hope they make it so the Skullcrawler can look farther up and down. I'm pretty sure they added another neck joint right before it transitions to the head so there's 3 neck joints instead of the 2 but I'm not sure if that's right. I'm currently looking at the photos for it, and there are 3 neck joints, the same on this one, and there's a small joint at the beginning of the neck segment of the figure on the GvK one. It also looks like they're doing the rubber membranes again, which sucks, but at least we're getting a repaint and technically a reissue for the Skullcrawler but it's just different paint.
Good that Hiya is making all the Monsters
Despite having mixed thoughts on Kong Skull Island, I really like the Skullcrawlers, been looking for a decent Skullcrawler figure, and the wait is now over.
This will likely be the best until the inevitable repaint/retool comes out at some point lol Glad we can finally add an articulated Danger Noodle to the shelves!
But I wonder if you're gonna do hiya femuto. Because if you're gonna do that one ooh boy. Cause that figure looks really good It's like they've taken that straight from godzilla 2014 And the articulation on this thing on the femuto. It's just beyond incredible. Like they captured the tripod Like details very well. Like it actually looks alien and parasitic. And they took that tripod like head design and they nailed it very good. Please review that next. Because that thing has 3 points of articulation in both the legs and the arms. So you can make it look like it's striking. Godzilla in its backspikes. Like I like that figure. It takes its tripod inspiration to heart. And I love it. Can't wait to see what other monsters hiya toys from the monsters they do. Because I want to see up a Behemoth And Methuselah And Sylla And some of the older monsters from the original Godzilla movies.
Will absolutely be covering the Female Muto upon release! Much too hyped and too big a fan of her to not cover her!

And also the Hawk moto as well. Because I've seen how they can experiment with. Removable heads With the KOTM. Rebirth Atomic heat ray Godzilla. And his GVK version. Which is basically the same thing. Just with added on hints of blue. So they could give. The Hawk muto. A.k.a. Male muto A dead Building in pale head. From when godzilla Smack him into a building in the movie. And if you give him a building to go along with it. To recreate that fight. Between the Hawk muto And Godzilla That would be so cool. And it add a little bit of depth to it. Because then hiya toys Could give us something that neca didn't. Because if you look on the bottom of your neca King Kong. Figure There are two stand holes So hiya toys could give us. Diaramas Play sets even. Because at 1 point I think neca. Was going to make the Empire state building. From 1933's King Kong. To go along with their King Kong figure. But that never happened. So let's see if hiya. Can make The same thing. An entire play set of Skull island Like That would just be just crazy. I would honestly like that. Wouldn't you ShinRobjira Because We've had play set. Like things before. With Godzilla or kong But I wish we got. An accurate skull island Play set That comes with both the skull devil and kong I can see hiya making battle sets is all I'm saying. One box with each figure. In one So you have KOTM. Boston battle That comes with. King ghidorah Godzilla Mothra and rodan. And one pack. With Boston As a Play set With hidden Features Like buildings being able to be destroyed. With little hidden buttons. And The king Ghidorah that would become with that. Would be different from the exquisite basic one. Because It would actually have. Crack In Kevin's head. So you can rip it off.
@ShinRobjira Because I feel like the issue with the Exquisite basic KG Is that it doesn't have the ability to remove Kevin's head and rip it off. Like in the film. That would just make the figure 10 times better I bet.
Another note, you've mentioned the tear in the mouth. I've just noticed that mine is also tearing. Has anyone else had this issue? Has anyone tried super glue? I'm considering super glue but am reluctant if anyone has tried and failed.

Hiya did the communist pricing probably so that other figures could be cheaper. I wouldn't be surprised if Heat Ray and Burning should've cost more due to having more parts and/or heavier paintjobs. But they probably just choose to give it the same price so some, like Goji can be cheaper. If you buy them all, you kinda paid the same probably had the pricing differs. It probably felt like how Marvel Legends is done. The BAF line all priced the same, but some got super smol figure, with another one being beeg. Yea, you can make the argument that the smol one still got the plastic worth since it got the BAF's torso, but issa waste and useless piece of unwanted plastic if you didn't get the entire line now is it? And I think if the pricing remains the same, except when it's significantly larger, so that customers could already prepare before every announcement, that everything would just be $51
I didn’t expect hiya toys to make a female muto action figure
This is literally the 3rd skull crawler figure I know of, so THANK THE HELL OUT OF HIYIA
The figure looks. Interesting. I like the face. And the feet. But i seriously don't like the jaw articulation... a huge no for me personally (because of stop motion). And the bendy wire tail. Is also a no for me. But it's still a cool figure.
Also. Off topic. Last week, i got the hiya g19. And it had..... a lot of problems. To say the least... it's tail half broke today. Its left elbow feels like it's going to break. And it is super tight on one joint. And super loose on others. Even if the paint is good. It doesn't really mean much to me if the figure sucks for stop motion. (I've made a shma godzilla 2019 vs hiya godzilla 2019 animation. And even a shimo vs godzilla fight. Which after making that. It's convinced me to not make stop motions with it once i made the animation). But i probably got a bad one. Sorry if this comment is Amannoying. It just really upsets me that this figure was hyped up for me not just from myself. But the community constantly saying "it's better then shma in almost every way!!!" And for it to not be good... really not only upsets me. Not just upsets me. It angers me a bit. Sorry for the probably long rant.

When did i say you had to agree with me @Jay-hy6rl 💀. I never said that. And i didn't buy this to hate on it. I was expecting something as good as my shma g19. Plus, some of my friends and my fanbase said to get it. And it breaking and being terrible for stop motion is being picky? It's not. I get them for stop motion. It's the WHOLE reason i get figures at this point. It's not being picky if it's stabbing me when i move it (not a little. I mean a lot. It makes my hands raw). And i think it's completely justified for me to be disappointed. People hype this figure up like it was a shma killer (mine wasn't. Not even close). For 6/8 something months straight. And only for it to suck. Is pretty justified for me to be disappointed. I feel LIED too about the figure. And it not being what people told me (some people also told me it was good for stop motion. Which makes it worse).

And when you are someone like me. Who makes stop motions. With thousands of frames in them. It's pretty understandable as to why they are bad. Because if people moving them for a pose is enough to break. Imagine that a thousand times over. And that's why i don't like them. On they're own there good. But for how fragile they are. And not being fixable. I'm going to have problems with that.

@@TheFallen-ff4xnit appears to have mixed answers all around. In the making of the movie, it’s revealed she’s female and the alpha of the smaller skull crawlers. Some dialogue in the film supports this. Some VFX artists have referred to it as a female. I believe the director at one point did too. But there’s the novel and other VFX artists calling it male.
I just go with the female option because it just seems cooler. Angry Moms are scary.

Sorry the membrane on yours has a tear mark on it. I think they put membrane to prevent the loose jaw syndrome, like with the Hammond Collection Ready. I've complained about this on other reviews of this figure. The paint job is atrocious. Looks nothing like the movie from the neck down. I still can't believe people are saying they love the paint job. I'm glad you think this is not great. The back had a massive beige patch and so did the tail. I've already repainted mine as best I could.

Seems it’s just a mixture of the “honey moon phase” running out and GvK doing what more people wanted and the basic social back and fourth of media consumption. The same will further happen when GxK releases and so on. In reality, KOTM never stopped being a good movie with little issues.
I didn't like either movie.
The T.R.A.S.P.S or the toy revolution against sloppy paint and sculpt is working. hiya must keep making these amazing figures for phase 3 too work. Phase three: stress shma so much they get dethroned from there rank as Godzilla figure king.
