      You’re welcome.
I buy my gas from the pump . I buy none ethanol premium 91 then mix in Stihl synthetic oil . The grey bottle . Also buy a 6 pack when you buy the saw for a two year warranty.
I’m going to start a new series soon . Chainsaw carving for the beginner and try to use the ms 170 stock and only a few other tools .

Hi Kyle did you ever put a carving bar on the ms250? If so what product numbers did you use for carving bar, sprocket and chain? Thanks.

Hi Claude . I did not . Instead I put the 3/8 sprocket , and the bar and chain from the 170 on the 250

Hi Kyle, Love your videos...so helpful. I am a new female carver (x1month in) I got a ms170 and 180 and have 1/4pitch dime tips on both .. 12" bar and 14 inch bar. Feel very safe with plunge cuts, but blocking out is slow. Thinking of 3/8 low pro chain instead on the 180 14 inch bar and switching to a quarter tip...but I am really afraid of getting too much kickback with this set-up, as I do not have the same upper body strength as a guy. What is your experience with a 3/8lp on quarter tip. Greatly appreciated. I have already done over 30 carvings in 1 month.

Hi RG I have only run the stock bars and dime tip bars . I have not run a quarter tip . I only block with my stock bars and detail with the dime tip bars . The stock bar from the 170-180 usually run a 3/8 .43 gauge picco chain which I have had good luck with and little kick back .

Hey Kyle!!!!! In Germany we pronounce Stihl= shteel or steel, not still ... the MS170 is a very good beginner carver saw... thank you so much for your videos

Great video! A suggestion from a broke dad who want to try his hand at carving, I would love to see a video of what's possible with a stock 170 carving.

I’m going to start a series with this idea in mind. Using a stock ms 170 and only a few tools to carve bears

@@okmatt346 .....dude I started 13 months ago ( no art (;zero) backgroud with a 70's craftsman 2.3/14":, then purchased MS 170, used that till beginning of May when I got a " CARVING 12" DIME TIP +&+SPROCKET .
My suggestion. ...borrow one and see if you like doing it......because it doesnt matter how it turns out or what you use to make it...
      YOU EITHER
      LOVE IT or not.
If you love it ( no matter it's outcome (( they only get better))
      THEN GET A
      MS170
      solid , convertible, reliable.
& spend as little as possible on a "Blocking saw"( used, on sale, stolen)
