The black texture issue was not the fault of the bus developer. Evidently you're using a 4K version of the repaint which depending on some maps OMSI can really shit itself hard.. Especially if AI routes are also using 4K repaints.
I wanted to comment this as well. I've had this problem on many different maps and many different busses. Hopefully he sees this comment so he knows it not the bus.
Now this is when the famous Sound developer Badger_Bus comes in to the rescue if he sees this, since he’s put amazing work into the MS Veiling, Gen 3 Pack, Lancsbus Omnidecker, and Veiling Classic which I know for a fact will be top quality sounds.

I would spend the extra pound and go grab the Studio Polygon Renown maybe a couple of months down the line the Gemini pack will be absolutely amazing. Let’s just wait and see.!
No two ways about it Imran, I absolutely agree. When it comes to payware products it should be right on release. Nobody would go out and buy a hoodie with no sleeves, with the promise that in a few months a person from Hollister would come round and sew them on for you... It's an unfinished product at the end of the day.
I fully agree, I feel very much short changed. I would definitely recommend some of the Masterswitch buses, if you don't have them already, as they offer great value for money and sound *amazing*!

My Gemini has this newer dash which I prefer to the older style, although it's currently off the road due to electrics needing rewiring and welding underneath.
6:22 that sound reminds me of a former arriva medway B7 ALX400. specifically 6440. GN04 UFJ. It was my fave vehicle then it got withdrawn in august last year :( but it sounded similar to that gemini with the hoover that i only seem to have found on B7 ALX400s.. RIP 6440 :(
Absolutely not the case! I can assure you I've not stopped speaking to anybody. See the funny thing is, nobody has been able to explain to me how the leak of the SP Dart would negatively impact the sales of the Gemini at all? If the Dart was ready for release and would perhaps steal customers who had £16.99 exactly to spend then I could absolutely appreciate that... But the Dart is nowhere near completion. What it did do, and it can be seen from data from the stream as well as other places, is cause both Discord and the forums to go wild... It caused much more attention and viewership of the stream, which caused much more publicity for not only the SP Dart, but also the BP Gemini... Nobody has lost out here, so if people wish to make an issue out of that they are of course more than entitled to do so... But the leak of the SP Dart could not possibly be linked to the BP Geminis sales at all... The only thing that will harm that is the release of an unfinished vehicle (namely the B7TL).

Hey Joe, Love the vid as usual. I 100% agree that the b7 sounds are appalling, performance wise it isn’t great either. However, First Enviro has been working with the boosters releasing patch in his server to get sounds right and they are significantly better - not perfect but a step in the right direction . I know people have said previously that the sounds are better but hold on it’s actually improved. Let’s hope performance wise it’ll match.

I find the 4gb patch causes the black textures often, particularly on the Chloe Trident - without it of course you get the white textures after a while when the memory runs out, but I prefer just having to give it all a quick reboot! Love the look of the Gemini - I'm really looking forward to the Lothian and London variants! Sounds definitely need some work on the B7TL, but apart from that looks quite nice Quite a disappointment that we didn't get a BJ03 NXWM spec - imagine if we had a half-decent sounding one of those! 😩👏

What I really wish that happeneds when u have your foot down for a long time like every other dlc the bus starts to over heat and changes sounds as the fan turns on
From my experience, the engine sounds are alright, albeit resembling a rather broken example, and the axle sounds are spot on, but the cooling fan just sounds wrong. I think one of the main reasons why it sounds off is because the cooling fan pitch depends on the engine RPM rather than the fan RPM.
Hey Joe, can you make an optimisation setting video where you showcase your good performance combined with graphics as I think it would help many people including me as Omsi2 is very hard to optimise. Good work and keep it up!
You can actually get a Permanent Hoover on the Old Dash (Euro 3) B7TL by just putting the Visible_StuckHoover Setvar into a Paintjob for the Euro 3 B7TL.
I agree with you that the sounds on the B7 needs improving to a degree, the B9 I think is better, like you said the B9 should of been first then the B7 which i thought that was what was going to happen, the one problem i have with the B9 is that it kicks out of gear and revs like made and it wont change sometimes.
lets hope the Dennis dart sounds fantastic however the b9 sounds fantastic but the b7 needs work on the sound its a shame when you are spending nearly 20 pound on a bus for it to sound like this to be fair they are updating this bus quite a lot but they need to work on the b7 sounds so yea hopefully this gets better
If it's anything like the B10, I think we're in safe hands with Reverseidle! I enjoy driving the B9TL, I think it has a few minor flaws, but overall it's a really good bus. I think the B7TL can be brought up to scratch in time. Fingers crossed! FirstEnviro has worked really hard on both version of the Gemini and it's such a shame to see it fall short of the hype!
Hit the nail on the head Joe. Was looking forward to this product for years and the B7TL has let down unfortunately. My local operator is Go North East and they have a very large fleet of B9TL Geminis aswell as a large fleet of B7TLs. When you’re standing near a B7 and it pulls away it is so loud you can’t think. It also sounds totally different in real life. It’s really upsetting because I really wanted to like this product and I do for some parts but the B7 is just a let down. I know people don’t like the idea of a patch being brought out later but it genuinely doesn’t bother me as the B9TL is a perfectly reasonable bus anyway. Get these ironed out and FirstEnviro will have a beast of a product in his hands. Minor things such as textures on B7 need doing such as doors looking like they’re fresh of the production line and of course bugs i’ve experience when driving this bus myself. Hope they get sorted Joe as this was a much needed, and wanted bus for OMSI.
I am just hoping MS are still working on the G2, they would probably include the Voith variant of the B9TL which I desperately want in OMSI. When I asked if this would have Voith prior to being released I ended up with a load of replies stating they don't exist. For the matter I have been on 2451 SN08 BYB with Burnley Bus Co which has Voith.
Pretty happy with the buses except the obvious B7 sound issue. IMO they should stick the B7 zf mod in it that @official_meelees made, which really sounds great.
Your sound point is true, for the MS Voith B7RLE the sounds do not accurately represent a Euro 4 voith B7RLE and it kills the immersion. Way too high pitched and a lot of key sounds missing or at the wrong volumes.

This may sound like a stupid question… has the Gemini pack been updated? If so how do I get the update? The screen in the centre of the dashboard keeps flickering on and off and also no symbol on the dash when the retarder is operating. Same question for the Studio Polygon Renown, how am I able to update that? Do they update automatically or do you need to download an update. Any help help would be much appreciated.
Joe the reason why the bus goes black like that is because you're using a 4k repaint so just use a 2k one and the textures should be fine, yes the gemini needs to be optimised but that's just OMSI it runs out of memory especially on maps like Bowdenham.
But if it comes with 4k repaints, they should work. I have hundreds of addon buses in OMSI with 4k textures and none of them have this 'black' problem.

I think your criticism is fair. I don't think you should feel bad for pointing at many faults in the product - if the faults are there, then they are there. I'm seeing and hearing everything you are experiencing. B7TLs are one of the main bus types that grew the enthusiast within me, and I would agree that this bus does not capture the memories for me. Some things are great like you said - I love the model - but the sounds are not there. I watched some of this and the last video you made for this bus, because I was really excited to find there was a B7 Gemini for OMSI. For me, honestly, the sounds are a big thing. I wouldn't buy this, right now. But, if it got transformed into an amazing bus, it may lead me to finally buy OMSI 2 itself - I've never played it. Also, that thing about buying a game with bugs (with the intention of being patched later) - this is something my friend says happens more often now, in games from bigger companies as well. The mood seems to be, "We can just patch that later, let's start making the sales."
ive been playing omsi for like 11 years im still surprised how bad omsi performance can be even on good pcs, but i know omsi favours single core perfromance over multi core

The black repaint has nothing to do with the bus and is generally a problem caused by the user not understanding omsi, unfair comment to blame it on the bus. Also, you've focused almost entirely on the sounds, I don't remember you talking about how it drives, even - or any extra features it may have.
I have to disagree, I've spawned many a vehicle in and not had this issue with black textures. I did think maybe it was because of the Geminis being used as ai, but reset the map to the standard version off the website. I have 17 videos in my OMSI playlist of this version of Bowdenham, using Masterswitch Studios and Studio Polygon vehicles, none of which had this issue? Which would point towards the bus being at fault. The sounds come under fire, yes... because it's an ever present feature of the bus. I do seem to remember mentioning the bus was modeled well? I did also mention the cab was well modeled (then going on to say I disliked this version of the cab). I did say it drove well and felt heavy much like the real thing. I pointed out it was sluggish in first gear then took off like a rocket, and pointed out this was a feature I'd never experienced in Geminis... I mentioned the nice smooth opening windows? I think the majority of users care about how it drives, how it looks, how it sounds... It's great you can flick through the menu on the dashboard, but realistically for the vast majority of people purchasing this product, they're not bothered about things like this.
@JoeDobsongaming black textures occur with the 4gb patch installed and are unavoidable. I have them everytime I play omsi on any bus. The issue in the Geminis case is that there is just too many high quality textures eating up the limited memory. I tend to spawn in black in most buses. Saving and loading latest state mostly solves it on the bus but AI will be black. Solutions are to reduce ai list variation (or turn off AI buses) and reduce texture size
I got rid of this bus.. Waste of £17 in my opinion.. Sounds aren't great, and I'm just not a big fan of Geminis. Once this bus has had many, many more updates, I'll come back to it. Lovely video, anyway, Joe. 👍😁

The B10 is good, but after all this time it still has a broken heating system and the near side mirror is still sometimes frozen when looking left

this is a non steam third party dlc, so aerosoft hasnt stamped this, so you can expect things to be fixed but who says they will

I use the 4K textures and I dont have any issues, i have the max tex. mem. for high res Tex load to 0.0 and using DXVK 2.5.2

Both buses need help with little tweeks especially the sound's. I love the shapes and modelling but the sounds erm needs work on both

The black repaint has nothing to do with the bus and is generally a problem caused by the user not understanding omsi, unfair comment to blame it on the bus. Also, you've focused almost entirely on the sounds, I don't remember you talking about how it drives, even - or any extra features it may have.
I have to disagree, I've spawned many a vehicle in and not had this issue with black textures. I did think maybe it was because of the Geminis being used as ai, but reset the map to the standard version off the website. I have 17 videos in my OMSI playlist of this version of Bowdenham, using Masterswitch Studios and Studio Polygon vehicles, none of which had this issue? Which would point towards the bus being at fault.
The sounds come under fire, yes... because it's an ever present feature of the bus. I do seem to remember mentioning the bus was modeled well? I did also mention the cab was well modeled (then going on to say I disliked this version of the cab). I did say it drove well and felt heavy much like the real thing. I pointed out it was sluggish in first gear then took off like a rocket, and pointed out this was a feature I'd never experienced in Geminis... I mentioned the nice smooth opening windows?
I think the majority of users care about how it drives, how it looks, how it sounds... It's great you can flick through the menu on the dashboard, but realistically for the vast majority of people purchasing this product, they're not bothered about things like this.

@JoeDobsongaming black textures occur with the 4gb patch installed and are unavoidable. I have them everytime I play omsi on any bus. The issue in the Geminis case is that there is just too many high quality textures eating up the limited memory. I tend to spawn in black in most buses. Saving and loading latest state mostly solves it on the bus but AI will be black. Solutions are to reduce ai list variation (or turn off AI buses) and reduce texture size

I agree the engine sounds awful. They need to look at the sounds on the 400 mmc which sounds amazing with the voith gearbox
I got rid of this bus.. Waste of £17 in my opinion.. Sounds aren't great, and I'm just not a big fan of Geminis. Once this bus has had many, many more updates, I'll come back to it.

Hey joe keep all of your repaints to 2k the game is far too old for us to enjoy the 4k repaints ive had to do this with my ai list just to get no black and white textures
the sounds are horrible and the gearbox is awful, how it got released in that state is crazy
i agree with everything but this video made me laugh because ur complaining about everything, yk the tailgating, sounds, moddeling, textures on and on, just funny if you ask me.
