Did they update the lights for the model y? I got my Model Y Performance in Sept 29th 2021 and I took off the two screws as shown and it still could not pull the tail light straight out to save my life
Oh thank god. This is the only video I've found that actually tells you how to remove the trunk latch cover. All the others say it just slides right off, which it very clearly does not. Thank you, Tesbros. You are truly bros.
They make this look easy af...I'll be uploading a video real soon showing how difficult it really is with no cuts in the work. No magical, "just pull straight and it'll come out" bs...
Needed this. Need to remove the liner to inspect where the leak is coming from inside my trunk. More than likely water is getting in from the tail light screw post. Thanks TESBROS. You're awesome.
@@tesbros Typical Tesla quality or lack thereof. Rush job as usual. At least it's not as bad as the model X. Full of gaps and out of flush panels. New car but still shudders. Looks like they still haven't fixed the half shaft issue. Will wear inner part of rear tire because of it. Falcon wing out of alignment on the passenger side. I can see money pit coming. I will lemon it they can't fix it. Don't want to deal with sloppy Tesla. Will be nothing but headache in the future. It's already a headache now. That's why I repair what I can. Hassle to keep going back to the service center. Found article that says takes them up to three visits to repair the leak. That's because they got kids that never had automotive experience outside of Tesla. Elon hire the cheapest labor. I'm a service tech so I can fix anything. Just need references like yours. Better than reading the service manual. Thanks again.
Thanks for the video . I got 2022 MYLR and found a little water leak on the bottom on trunk lid. Wanting to remove the panel to see where water is coming from before taking to Tesla for the final repair.
@@tesbrosthat was the ticket, it ate up about 75% of the gap and it is much less noticable. Appreciate the info. It really chaps my ass that the mobile Tesla tech that came out just flat told me there was nothing that could be done yet as a novice watching a UA-cam video I was able to adjust it in 45 minutes. Dude was not interested in working and resolved none of my issues. Thanks again for the video and confirmation there is some wiggle room!
Have you changed your lights yet? Did you run into any issues? Let us know!

What did you find?
Thanks for useful tutorial! Very nice!
Could you please tell if the liftgate is aluminum or steel?
Steel!
Great VDO.👍👍👍
Thanks.
Thank you man!
Great video. Unfortunately the service center cannot get the back panel to sit flush.
Latch cover should be placed before the main cover.
Is there any way to adjust the hatch taillights if one side has a gap?
yes for the most part. Has some play with the two 8mm bolts.
@@tesbros thanks! I think I'll give it a whirl.
