thanks for the video Darren, i followed it to the letter and seemed to work afterwards just as yours did. Only thing i saw that was different was the part where you connected the pi and started the direwolf command mine said "unverified" on the 2nd green line of the igate # longresp KA5GSS-10 unverified, server T2CAEAST " was the message. Not sure why or what that affects but I'm assuming its due to the passcode i received is new? But anyway thx for the video.
If I wanted to install a "fill in" digipeater for 2m APRS on my vehicle, how should I proceed? I may be in a place with no cell signal at a hiking destination. I'm not too sure. Right now, my Shack APRS digipester is down, I got lightning damage. Maybe its in the direwolf configuration file. I'm not a UNIX person.

Hmmm, not sure about the unverified. I hope you find a fix to resolve that.

I dont need direwolf If i have a hardware tnc like the kpc3 right?
Sorry, I'm not yet familiar with KPC3. But Dire Wolf is the software controlling my APRS signaling.
If it's a TNC then I don't think you need Direwolf
