Thanks for taking us along for the video. It's coming along nicely. Can't wait to see the replacement playfield 😆. A couple of folks that I've talked to who have done the replacement playfields don't bother removing the power braid. They just leave it on the old playfield and use picture hanging wire as their new braid. They use the old playfield as a plot for the new braid's placement. But I think whatever you choose to do to the machine it the right choice. Thanks again for making the video.
You like to watch the person in action. As opposed to mere before and after shots. I know just what you mean. You alluded to the fact that it's time consuming and takes effort to present the steps along the way in a restoration. I believe you. I've always envied folks who can accomplish so much. I like to think that I do good work. But I take a long time and I have other things to do and I very genuinely lack the time to document my steps properly. So I have no choice but to tinker with pinball machines vicariously through pinball shenanigans. I appreciate the time you put into it.
Hey Mike, although we said "new playfield" it's easy for us to say that, we're not the ones that would have to do all the work trying to make heads and tales of the spagetti of wiring to make that happen. I completely understand why you'd go for using this playfield man but I think a lot of us were looking at it from a no expense spared angle. It'd be far more work than we could ever imagine. It's just seeing the fresh cabinet that makes me think new playfield would be the way to go but like you say, it's another 1500 bucks and all the additional work. I wouldn't have the skills to do a plafield swap that's for sure! You do you man, and get this thing done as you see fit, you won't lose viewers or subs. I'm confident it'll turn out just fine and when all said and done, if at a later date you feel like you want a new playfield in it you can do it at that point. We appreciate you man and love the videos you make for us.
I think you guys are right. In my experience with Williams Bally pf swaps they are quite simple breaking the wiring harness into three, solenoid lamps and switches. However this older games seems like a mess on the underside and will be hard enough trying to undo all of the hack jobs performed on it. Getting this thing running 100% will be a project in it of itself. I would have liked to see it done but bringing this game back to life is also nice to see. Also a small tip is that females have better color perception. Have your gf help you on the color matching if she is available. Since you are using the old pf I think that Mylar has to come of especially if you plan on touching up the pf after. Maybe even remove everything from the topside to brush clear on the entire thing to have everything at the same finish. Just some things for your consideration. Can’t wait to see this game alive in its cabinet
I bet the longer you go with this project, the more you will leaning to swapping the playfield. ….I’m just saying…… I hope Barry has enough sense to not get buried by the snow!

Thats all you need!
Mike, send some snow to the New Mexico area for a nice white Christmas!
Great videos, I’m going to guess, 14 episodes. 😊
I would but Canada Post is still on strike :) Ok 14 is the bet!

I should have read the previous comment before putting in my 2 cents.

My guess is 13 episodes
Ok 13! Your bet is placed :)
It's easy for people to vote for a new playfield when they don't have to pay for it or do the work swapping it.
So easy :)

12 episodes or 16 if you change the playfield…….
Ahh good call! We shall see!
