    Oh my gosh thank you. I’ve watched so many things about tornados, I’m a weather junkie I guess, and I’ve never had this topic explained to me in this manner. This was so interesting and gripped me the entire time. Your studio visuals really helped me understand wind shear forever now. Thank you so much

      Tornadoes are not a severe threat in Florida, there is not enough room for them to gain any mass or momentum on land. The only tornadoes you'll see in Florida in any numbers are water spouts and they rarely make landfall and cause any problems

      That’s just not true at all. While not as common as the Plains or Deep South Florida has had its fair share of large tornadoes not spawned from a tropical system. - Jonathan

    Seeing that wedge was scary. I couldn't believe it. That was straight out of Oklahoma.

    1:26 was honestly worried about having the wind shear sooo close to shore, and instability out front off the blob, that got pushed on shore.. I’m no meteorologist. But I understand the term, and that was my, “for the people” explanation. If right

    Several months ago you talked about weather patterns that would likely cause storms like Helene and Milton to hit the gulf coast of Florida this year and you were spot on. Thanks for putting these reports together. BTW: Your intro is a little much, It's UA-cam bro.

    I'm in Jensen Beach in Martin Co and all those tornados were pretty crazy. I have a video of one passing up the Indian River half mile from my house and another behind my house. They seemed to be everywhere for 3 hours

    i remember thinking about the jet streams from new orleans in combination with the warmer surface wind direction a couple days before it made landfall. i remember talking my friends and families ear off about the possibility of an anomalous tornado outbreak due to the directions of wind & the pressure, and sure enough..

    Every hurricane is different it seems. When the building Eastwind shifted to north is when everything started coming down in eastern Hillsboro County mostly trees, blocking roads and powerlines. We were very lucky.
    With water temperatures in the Gulf of Mexico more like August clashing with continental air from October we probably can expect more of this in the future with late season storms interacting with frontal boundaries

    I watched a video recently talking about how there may need to be a modification made to the EF scale. Mobile radar have multiple times recorded wind speeds over 200 mph, but the tornadoes are still classified as EF-3 or EF-4 rather than EF-5. What are your thoughts on that?

    • @just_weather
      @just_weather  3 місяці тому

      That wouldn’t change the scale. That would put them at EF-5…however the Fujitsu scale is a damage scale so they have to hit something and produce that damage. Thats why they are rated that way. I feel like if it’s measured it should count. - Jonathan
