I was actually gobsmacked when they came on as I thought it totally inappropriate but this is really fascinating, I wish the quality was better. Totally fresh and edgy, it just works.
i remember having whole show on my tivo, can't believe some people object to this, ironically they will be racists as theyh have more right to do a fresh arrangement of such a song as most, i didn't see booker T objecting and the legend that is steve cropper was really into it, i forget what the songs were called but this is actually three songs in one, he is singing one of hiss, she one of hers and the band playing walking the dog, the whole ethos of stax was mixing black and white influences and musicians at a time when this couldn't happen in daily lives of many millions in the land of the free and the home of the brave middle aged racist white man
North beck my thoughts exactly. I was there that night and this was like a wtf moment, totally ruined the flow. I like some of Nadia Roses tracks but not here.
@@danohagan6022 of course you're allowed your opinion, I'm just pointing out that your opinion on this matter shows you up for the boring old fart that you are. Completely set in your ways, resistant to any change, and yearning for years gone by.

Yeh, i love to see a new twist on a classic. after Green Onions (and Booker T Jones's general coolness) this was my highlight of the night.
@@dcan911 They definitely hit it, I can't even describe why.
I thought exactly the same, Henry. Almost ashamed to say it, but I think I prefer their version to Rufus Thomas's.
Thought I was going to hate and was one of the highlights of the night!
You can see this in the iplayer at the moment if you have it... the whole Stax Proms thing is up there....
I wish they would release a version of this. Such an awesome take.
