Enjoyed this video very much and agreeing with your thoughts more and more. The nasdaq is up over 20% this year and is much safer. While that will not happen every year as it goes up and down. Financial education needs to be a top priority

I hate losing a bet way more than winning a bet. I feel very lucky to not be vulnerable to gambling. Also, the Profits are privatized, and the Costs are forced on taxpayers with bankruptcies, social dysfunction, and domestic violence consequences. And it's massively rigged. Betting company executives are no better than drug dealers.

I don't believe you addressed what I see as the primary reason to legalize vice. The social costs of enforcement to a prohibition of vice are potentially significant.
When vice is illegal, the law must be enforced, which in turn means that inspectors must be sent to find and shut down the gamboling organizations, which in the end is enforced by cops, sentences by courts, and punished by jails. Putting the steady flow of "enablers" into prison commits police time, court time, and prison space from other objectives. To make matters worse, vice prohibition laws puts the revenues underground, and thus funds organized crime which in turn corrodes society with bribes, and can result in violence, either between crime organizations, on their organizations chosen victims, or on people caught in the cross fire.
Organized crime already kills too many people in the US. Even if legalizing vice damages more peoples lives, if it results in more people having lives, that's a trade off worth taking. If you have the power to get this question answered, it is important.

Thanks for bringing up an important topic.
To me, it highlights the fact that we are a society of intelligent, reasonable citizens who each have the ability to see issues and solutions from a macro point of view.
It feels futile when there doesn't seem to be a clear path from seeing a solution most of us can agree on to practical actions we can take to make it a reality. Vote? Run for office? There is an urge to appeal to someone in a position of power and influence. Shifts in the culture don't seem to affect outcomes, and I feel disempowered.
