When this was built only Von Roll VR101, Carlevaro-Savio and Heckel systems were available. The Snezka chairlift was built by Transporta in 1949, they were a licensed producer of Von Roll VR101 chairlifts. It is currently, along with the Westfalenpark Seilbahn in Dortmund(1959 Pohlig) and the Weissenstein chairlift(1950 - 2013, also Von Roll VR101), the 2nd-oldest detachable monocable ropeway in history. However next year the Westfalenpark Seilbahn will overtake both Snezka and Weissenstein when it turns 64.

The Cairngorm lifts were Mueller chairlifts. They were sideways-facing too however. Shame that they are no more, why scrap such valuable ropeways in a country that doesn't even have totalitarian safety standards for ropeways such as my home country? Pffffffft. Poor Mueller.
@@CBF1 yes, indeed your right. I only learned that 4 years ago, they just looked so typical of a von roll system at the time. I later discovered they used a mueller screw clamp, blueprints of which can be found online. The t-bars at Cairngorm however seem to be enduring the elements well - I’m well informed that they are a heck of a lot easier to repair than the poma lifts that followed them in the 2nd generation of lift installs that followed in the 1970’s/1980’s
@@jonathancook4022 They're fixed grip. French detachable drag lifts are rather precise. Their grips don't really come OFF the cable... they're on a track with the cable passing THROUGH the grips of the bars. They grip on almost like a car transmission clutch when a switch is activated. Also one question. How would you rate the VR101 and Mueller detachable grips compared to shit modern grips? The Mueller concept looks a HECK of a lot simpler than any other detachable system that I've ever seen.
