I flight attendant saw we writing on my Bible and highlighting. She was so funny. Possibly in her late 70s. She told me I really should do that. That it’s disrespectful to the Word. It was a half empty flight for 5 hours so we got the chance to actually sit together and talk about it. By the end sweet Bernice was on fire and so was I. God good good fire. I love flying. You never know who you’re going to meet. You never know who God gifts you for those moments in the day.

Thank you Faith for this video! You encouraged me to pick up my physical Bible. Go deeper in my study and compare other Bible versions whilst cross referencing. I also used some apps for Bible dictionaries and this helped me to enjoy exploring the word. I’ve felt far away from the Lord recently but getting in his word again helped to remind me of who God is and his truth. God bless you! 🙏🏾🥹

Okay, this is something I did last night as part of my bible study, that you kind of led me to explore more. I was watching a mike wagner video and he was talking about this term 'lord willing.' and I read that exact line in Matthew and I wanted to make sure to write myself a note to remind myself of all the mentions of this term in other parts of the bible. and I compared it to other things I had read (I'm bouncing back and forth between new and old and also the psalms. kind of whatever I'm feeling) So this one line, which was not what the main point of the passage was, gave me a deeper insight on a term that is used throughout the bible. And deepened my understanding of that as well as my prayer. I thought you would like to hear about how your words and videos help others and how we actually apply them. However, the way I wrote the note and taped it in might not stick around. I might have to change it, but we shall see if I need to do a tip in or what.

I am not religious, but I do thirst to learn. I find myself wanting to read the bible, the Talmud, the Qu'ran, as well as historical documents, from a historical point of view. I want to dissect these, look at each point and go on a treasure hunt through dictionaries, atlases, maps references, and opinions so that one day I can finally say "now I understand". I would also like to compare and contrast to find similarities just to see how alike contrasting views actually are. I value and prize knowledge and you have given me incentive. I hope I didn't offend you by saying I am not religious, I actually value your vast knowledge and voice.

Christianity is an active relationship with a living person, Jesus God, it's not like all the other religions. All the founders of other religions are still lying dead in their Graves
Same with the Bible, it's the LIVING Word of God, other holy books are interesting and can be engaging, but they are not living. Do read and compare for yourself, start now!!! Start with the Bible as you'll find later holy books like the Quran and the Book of Mormon have just taken stuff from the Bible, sometimes directly, sometimes just rewriting it, adding to it etc, which is forbidden by God at the close of the Bible. It's the final revelation of God.

Put it on/with your phone ...or in your purse, or back pocket....A nice thing to carry for a year (or more) to memorize the books of the Bible, and the key points. I have a general question that I’m hoping you could answer. Someone asked me, how do we know that the New Testament wasn’t written in a way that deliberately fulfilled prophecies from the Old Testament? Did the New Testament authors deliberately try to make it look like Jesus fulfilled prophecy?

    • @useupwearout5029
      @useupwearout5029 Рік тому

I'm sure a common question! I struggled with it too. The more I read the OT....and what God wanted, and the NT...and what it DiD... I had to ask myself, is there anything in here that God would NOT want us to do? A few key questions pop up...and you take the time to read...and measure that to what you know God desires....and ask others... Truth rises. HTH....?

Hey there! Watching this and realizing a stumbling block of mine has been a belief that I must read my Bible only in the most private spaces. I struggle to even bring it out in front of a big window in my own living room at home. Hearing you talk about bringing your Bible everywhere and even studying in coffee shops has me wondering if I interpreted this scripture in too legalistic a way:
“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen.” (Matthew 6:5, NIV)
What are your thoughts on public Bible reading?

That's talking about praying and not reading. Personally, I think reading it anywhere is good because it is often a conversation starter. You have to be open to those moments. They can be truly amazing!

Couple of quick questions. Do you study, read, and have devotional time in from the same interleaved bible? I tend to confound or confuse these topics and switch between bibles. I like the idea of keeping everything in one bible. I have an ESV cambridge wide margin where the text is so cluttered with notes that its almost impossible to read. I am considering the NKJV interleaved for this purpose so I can make notes in the margin on the text side and leave the interleaved for study notes and observations on the right side. All things, considered would you say that its best to read, study, and have devotional time all from one bible?

Is there a point to studying the kjv, since; A. If it doesn't get you anywhere in the the development of knowing scripture and B. If what you are studying is not complete in the first place.

Those “Mr. pen“ fine tips look incredibly identical to the Pigma microns. I would be curious if Mr. Penn just hired them to create their pen, or if they styled it after Pigma intentionally.

I’m sure that they just private labeled the pens from the same manufacturer as Pigma

Hi Faith. You may never ever see this comment and you may never respond due to your schedule but I have a request for your opinion....would you be willing to do a review of the BBC? The BBC is the Nelsons Believers Bible Commentary by Thomas Nelson Publishers? It is a very large extensive single volume commentary.

I would like to know if you, and your husband accept the apocrypha books as scriptures? The reason I ask is the scriptures either quote or reference them often, for example Jude speaks of Enoch as being a prophet, and quotes him to his congregation. He also talks of another book when he speaks of the devil and the archangel Michael having a dispute over the body of moses. I am putting together a coalition between the k.j.v. and the book of Enoch. If you are interested please let me know. May God bless, and guide you into all His truth.

Thank you for sharing how you study the Bible and your passion for God's word. It is so important to be studying God's word especially in these days of deception. Reading the Bible through in a year or reading a daily devotional is nowhere near enough. Neither of those is actually studying the Bible. I would agree and disagree with some of your methods. Study methods that keep someone as close as possible to the purity of God's word is important. Yes to comparing translations and reading the passage or book through more than once. No, no, no to commentaries! Steer far away from another man's interpretation of what God's word is saying. Use a concordance to help you find co text elsewhere in the bible. Let the Bible interpret the Bible. Use a concordance to help you find co text passages, original words and their meanings. Bible dictionaries and lexicons can be helpful. Try a Hebrew and Greek Interlinear Bible. You can purchase a parallel Bible to have multiple Bibles to compare translations at one time. If you're going to be studying outside of your home office you need to be familiar with Bible study tool apps-such as Blue Letter Bible-because you can't carry your entire library with you everywhere. I can't emphasize enough to you to let the Bible interpret the Bible. Only the Bible is perfect and God's inspired word. Do research into the translations you want to look at. Even the chapters, verses and headings are man-made. You need to study and understand the Old Testament in order to understand the New Testament. The scriptures being referred to in the New Testament, over and over, are what we call the Old Testament. AFTER you have let the Bible interpret itself then you might want to compare credible commentaries. Don't just stick to a commentary by one person.
