Blitz we now have log(3) so we can get log(6)-log(3)=log(6/3)=log(2). So log(2)=a-(b-2a)=3a-b. We also know that log(10)=1. So we do log(108)-log(2)=log(108/2)=log(54) and then do log(54)-log(10)=log(54/10)=log(5.4). So log(5.4)=b-(3a-b)-1=2b-3a-1.
you did subtract already, at first the result was kept, then the other way he did the number doubled so you don't have to subtract it again, you could just subtract it and it's clone from the whole number it's like log108 - log(6)-log(6) this is like for example 2 - 1 - 1 which is 2 - 2
Don't know if I'm too late but I think no base means that the implied base is 10 by convention, but the point is that all the logs have the same base so the base isn't need for your calculations to work.
if you're reading log with no base on a calculator than base 10 is implied but if not in a calculator and not other wise specified then base e is implied
It means that whatever the base is, it is somewhat irrelevant to the question and answer. In a mathematical sense, when no base is written down, then it is implied that the base is e (Euler's constant), however, from the aspect of your calculator, if no base is written, then base 10 is implied. Good luck with your learning!
log 6-log 3 = log 2
log 108 - log 2 = log 54
log 54= log 108-log 6 + log 3
log 54 = b-a+b-2a
log 54 = 2b-3a
log 54-log 10=2b-3a-1
Abdelmoutaleb Kandil This works for log base 10. What if we don't know the base?
It's like stumbling across the solution by experimentation. Great!!
How do you solve the second part?

@@RazorM97 or you could do like this..... log6 +log3+log3=log54=a+b-2a+b-2a= -3a+2b. log54-log10=log5.4= -3a+2b-1
@@tanvedzmakkar231 hey thanks a lot for answering 😊 , this helped me a lot.
Man....what does it mean when no base is attached to the log
