We are that kind of a tribe who stood by their culture. We do respect but we also straight forward we don't dwell around but up to the point. I'm proudly Zulu💪
I think many tribes of SA, the region and the continent also still stand by their culture…the problem is when we confuse being dangerously confrontational even when it is unwarranted with being proud of who we are as a people!!! Basotho, AmaSwati, Batswana, Amandebele, Amaxhosa, AmaVenda, Bapedi, baTsonga as well as other tribes of our country including those from other countries in the region and continent are proof of this, and just because you are not exposed to how they live their culture and identity doesn’t mean they don’t exist, it just means that you are ignorant and need to read more widely…or simply, just start reading…!!! Respect will take us a long way, respect for ourselves as a people, and respect for others that live around us and with us! The rules set at the palace were set by those who are the custodians of the monarchy, it doesn’t show respect for culture when we disrespect them; after all Umntwana wakwaPhindangene, iNkosi Mangosuthu Buthelezi wabekwa iSilo esikhundleni sakhe sobundunankulu, which therefore means that aniyihloniphi iNkosi kanjalo nobukhosi bakwaZulu, uma ningayihlophi imithetho ye Nkosi because we cannot all be in charge, that’s a recipe for anarchy, which can tip things to violence very quickly!!!! We can hold on to our culture whilst observing and respecting basic principles of Ubuntu, ukuphilisana nabanye abantu! Days of anarchy, caveman’s mentality and violence are long behind us with!!!
