Is it really a good idea to plant trees in a diagonal fashion though? Since any time beside a tree can spawn a mushroom, having trees 2 spaces apart seem to be the most optimal setup using the least seeds for a mushroom farm.
Hi again @DeludedOne. Yeah, fair point. Having less trees means less crowding and less seeds, however more trees potentially means more chances to grow. I'd be curious for an experiment but I expect only 1 mushroom per tree per day, so I don't think you'd max the space even with diagonal. Happy to be proven wrong if you give this a test yourself.
Remember to plant the grass after the trees are planted otherwise planting the trees will remove the grass from the tile which they are planted on. Should not affect mushroom growth, but if you want an even spread of grass you'll have to replace the grass on the tree tiles manually after planting them.

Tysmfs all this info. I had never even thought about having a mushrrom harvesting area but now I'm going to make one. 😊

This is such a great idea, thanks for sharing. I had a total nightmare trying to find red caps on my island, this will make it so much easier😊🍄
You’re most welcome Annie and thanks so much for joining the stream earlier.

That’s a good idea from a seed saving point of view DeludedOne. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you 🙏🏼
