    I have been using bioidentical hormones for five years. It has made menopause a very gentle and almost non-eventful process. I’m on small doses, but enough tomake the difference. Also, research has been showing bioidentical hormones can also be protective against Altzheimers. This is new research but important.

      Hello, do you mind sharing what name & type of bioidentical hormones you're currently taking? The FDA is also currently considering taking these away. I take natural desiccated thyroid medication which has been life changing & now I'm having changes pointing to menopause (not quite there but having signs). I don't want synthetic estrogen or progesterone.

      @@drwestinchilds ya you are right what I meant to ask is there any that are natural and bioidentical I have been told repeatedly that they did not exist and my body doesn't work well with the synthetic ones I have been off of it for 2 years had radiation 6 years ago and I feel better with out it but I have always wondered if they were available

    Bioidentical = like the ones your Bio-system(Body) produces naturally.
    natural/synthetic = relating to the source(!) of production of the hormone.
    NDT = natural + bioidentical
    If molecule/hormone structure is too far away from human hormone structure... it’s not bioidentical, regardless of “natural or synthetic” source.

    Hi, I have grave disease and hyperthyroidism for 2 years, and during the last year, I had normal labs (even with the results a little bit below the normal). However, since the last 2 weeks, I got a gotier (I didn't have one when got the symptoms really bad two years ago), and have tremors. I was doing really great, however since I got sick apparently with a flu, I have been with feeling like a semi hyperthyroidism, with tremors and sometimes palpitacions. I don't know what to do, I have taken prescriptions for a flu, but my doctor wants me to take iodine (she's been insisting since the first appointment in this option, because it's the "easiest one".
    I feel devastated and just want some guidence. Can you help me doctor?

    Thank you for this video explaining the difference between bioidentical and natural hormones. I am 56 years old and I had uterine cancer at age 42 with a complete hysterectomy. Granted it's now many years since I had this done but would there be any benefit to taking by bioidentical hormones. I have been worried for many years about the damage to my heart and other issues of going into early menopause. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! The only thing the doctor told me about my cancer was that it most likely started from cells that remained from a miscarriage that I did not have the DNC after. And they told me not to take estrogen. That was all they told me at the time.

    Hi Westin, do you know if there is connection between Hashimotos and Endometriosis?
    7 years with Hashimotos, and had laparoscopy for endometriosis - I would like to switch euthyrox to a non synthetic version and in Denmark doctors don’t work with that.
    Is it possible to have an online consultation with you?
    My wish is a healthy pregnancy and if possible to switch to non synthetic medicine.
    Thank you

    I hear you and understand
    My one qualm with what you were saying was about "if the body makes it then that means it is safe taken exougenously."
    Just because the body makes something, doesn't necessarily mean it is safe on it's own or when taken exogenously.
    As a side note, Natazia (brand name) is a birth control pills that has bioidentical estradiol with an ester (called Valerate) and a non bioidentical progestin called dienogest.

    So are testosterone esters considered bio-identical ie. test cypionate and test enanthate etc? Or is only testosterone suspension technically bio-identical because there’s no ester. I don’t think testosterone suspension is even sold under a prescription, but it exists.
