I always did and still do to this day. My mother told me to do so because of an emergency. Banks close down and you are broke because you can't get money. Everyone in my family keep them big water jugs full of coins and paper money as well.

I must admit, South Africa has one of the worst immigrations laws on this planet. It sometimes takes more than a year before you get any response for a visa application, and even then the response will most likely be negative. You have to fight through the court system in order to get a visa that enables you to stay in SA.

Funny side note..... we live in the south and after the mass shooting of that all black church our pastor called a special after church meeting for all the deacons and elders (included my parents) to vote on having 6 members sitting in various spots every service with handguns. I think they intended to imply he didn't have a place to live to try to sell an idea that they were strapped for cash or something like that. Both DA Willis and her dad worked in law for decades, is absurd to try to make something out of a personal trip or housing arrangement without any proper evidence of wrongdoing.
