- I recently went to a Quilt/Sewing Expo and purchased some yummy fabrics. Here i show how I made a fast and easy journal cover using some of the fabric. Enjoy!

I love this method of making a journal cover. I make Prayer Journal covers for my church friends. I will definitely try this method. Love all your videos.

I do flower pounding and outline my flowers like you and it gives it more realistic flower. It’s really nice!

Love the journal! It was so fun watching you create it! I’m not good at free motion, because I do not feel in control. But I know the more I sew with it the better I will become - hopefully 😊.
Free motion stitching takes practice but it isn't hard. Stick with it! It's a lot of fun when you get the hang of it.

So cute!. I saw an earlier face video you did and I made a darling bookmark. I also used your directions from an earlier video for making a notebook cover and I used that to cover a basic black and white composition book. It was so much easier and nicer looking than previous covers I have used. By the way, I slow stitch and made the whole cover by hand. I'm so glad I discovered your channel. Thanks for the inspiration and tutorials.

I just can’t stop now … I still have to practice free motion sewing but I will get there 😂 I wonder how to recycle all the loose threads I have in a jar … I think I saw you do something with threads a while back but unfortunately I can’t remember what video it was in … do you have any ideas how to do an artsy embellishment with threads !? If you ever feel like showing us how to do so, it would be so helpful Please keep up your amazing videos they are awesome 🥰
Hi, Thank you for your kind comment. I am so glad you are finding my videos inspiring. Here is a video where I used threads in a fabric collage. I covered the piece with a fine net or tulle.

I love your videos so much! I tried doing the free style sewing, but it was so hard. Could you do a trouble shooting video for that technique? I bought the right foot, but it was still hard. Maybe I had a problem with tension because there were loops underneath the fabric.
Hi, I have it on my list to do a trouble shooting video. Thanks for the idea. I hope I can give you some pointers. Free motion stitching is FUN once you get it!

P.S. Do you need any sequin tape? I bought a box FULL and I'm not sure how to use it, lol!!! 😂
Hi Brenda, You sound like me with boxes of " what am I going to do with this and what was I thinking"! This journal cover would have looked cool with sequins. I think I would attached using clear thread and a zigzag big enough to span the width of the tape. Hope that makes sense. Have a great day! Julia
Very cute! Just wondering how the sewing through the Heat n Bond ultra was? I’ve heard others say it’s difficult to sew through, that it makes the needle sticky.
Hi, I don't have problems but I know others do. I usually do simple stitching ( straight stitch or zigzag- no decorative) If the needle gets gummy, it can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol.
I love all your art.. especially the “goofyness”. I should keep my trap shut but I prefer your art & some others

When i cut them with scissors the ends are clean

Hi. I am so glad you are enjoying my videos. When I rip my canvas, I first take my scissors and snip approximately an inch in where I want to rip. I then with my hands , I rip the canvas. It should rip straight if it's woven on grain. It it's too hard to rip, I'll make my snip a bit bigger. Ripping gives the canvas a beautiful fray. I hope this helps. Hi, I am using just using all purpose Coats and Clark thread. I use bobbin thread in the bobbin which is a lighter weight.
