My Dad is a Blue Angel... He served on the USS Kitty Hawk CV-63 and was picked up for the Blues in 1969 as an AE2. I served on the USS Forrestal CV-59 from 1989-1992. I couldn't be more proud of my Dad and having served my country in the United State Navy! Go Navy!!! BEAT army!!!
That is fantastic! My nephew is in the Navy and is loving it! Thank you for your service 😊
That’s awesome!! Thank you to both you and your dad for your service. My dad and grandpa were both US Navy veterans. We used to love going to watch the Blue Angels, and when I was little it was my biggest dream to fly with them.
what’s the chances he can take me up for a ride? i’m in the enlisting process and hoping to become a Fighter pilot. It’s a dream to go up in a blue angel.
Wow
Congrats!!!! Proud doesn’t even begin to describe what he does!!!
What an incredible and exciting documentary!!! I live in Pensacola and the Blue Angels are truly a national treasure. THE BEST OF THE BEST!!! GO ANGELS
I'm all over this. Both parents were in the Air Force and we traveled a lot. At one base my bedroom looked right over flight line. I watched jets take off and land constantly.
Thanks to your parents for protecting us!
I saw Top Gun when I was 8. Been a Navy pilot for 23 years. So proud to be part of the Navy ❤
Hooyah, shipmate. 🤘🏼
John, post some videos man!

The one Kid who got to be Maverick. Im so jealous. I gave up when I learned I had to have 20/20 vision. Probably had to be alot more book smart also.
No stunt doubles, no over exaggerated maneuvers. THIS is the real thing. Top gun maverick is fine, this will be much much much better
High school friend and I joined the Navy in 1964 after graduating class A school he got the Blue Angles and I was stationed NAS North Island working in O&R department when the Blue Angels put on their show. Don’t remember the year but they were flying the A4 Skyhawks.
Perhaps you and your buddy joined the Navy in 1974? The Blue Angels flew the A-4F Skyhawk from late 1974 through the first half of 1986. They flew the F11-F Tiger and F-4J Phantom from 1957 through 1974.
@@VoxOptimatium yeah old age plays tricks on your mind totally forgot about the F 11’s.
@@356rah You and me, brother, you and me!
Who here loves Fat Albert?
👇
Who doesn’t!?
Currently in NAS Pensacola, this is awesome.
Love this - when I was 10 years old I asked the then Captain, Casey Jones for an autograph. I didn’t have a piece of paper, so my mom grabbed her cheque book. Captain Jones then said “who don’t make it out to?” 😂😂😂😂 He was so nice and so handsome. 😊
Just watched on Prime. Beautifully documentary.
I first saw The Blue Angels in 1986 at San Francisco Fleet week I was 9 at the time and seeing them fly over the bay was just Awsome. The USS Missouri was there as well and I was in awe of her when I was a kid
Hats off to Glen Powell for making this documentary.
I wish it were in theaters longer! I would've loved to see this in IMAX. This looks amazing. The Blue Angels are truly inspirational.
Capt. Kesselring and the boys. Can't wait!
Alright!!! get your popcorn and sodawaters ready!! THIS LOOKS LIKE A WINNER!!!
five by five
This footage looks insane
Man imagine that playing on the sphere in Vegas!
I've had a Blue angels model since I was a kid and the feelings this is bringing back and all the new ones too because man this is some cool stuff, is just super awesome yo😁 dam I'm glad I luved to see this
I love the Blue Angels💙💛
GLAD TO BE HERE BOSS!
Brother lives in Florida were they are stationed and gets to see them fly frequently
The preview is amazing. I can't wait to watch the whole documentary. I t will a great way to showcase the hard work and dedication of the Navy blue angels team. ❤❤
✈️MY BLUES! Always making me proud! Bravo Zulu!✈️
It's very dangerous job, I have a good friend that comes to Ensenada Baja California to visit me and we have a good time because he needs to get some free time to relax 🎉
This is the best documentary I've ever seen. Moved to tears.
Filmed in IMAX... amazing visuals and stunning cinematography... 2024 release... trailer uploaded in 1080p. Where's the 4K at?
The base I'm currently stationed on had the Blue Angels on it shortly before I got here, but they left a couplenof days before my arrival. I wish I could have seen them with my own eyes, but I'm definitely going to see this movie with some of my fellow sailors!
I saw this last night. SO well done. The footage was incredible. Boss Kesselring did an amazing job transitioning the team to the Super.
One really interesting fact is that the Boss during the last two transitions are the only two Bosses in team history from North Dakota, and their hometowns are 50 miles apart. And, both appeared in the documentary.
In skies where dreams and breezes blend,
A dance of wings, a journey penned.
Up where the clouds, like cotton, sprawl,
The daring hearts of pilots call.
Through azure realms, a canvas wide,
They navigate with grace and pride.
In every plane, a whispered story,
Echoes of freedom, boundless glory.
A symphony of engines hum,
A lullaby, a rhythmic drum.
The air, a tapestry they weave,
In flight, their spirits interleave.
They pierce the heavens, swift and bold,
Chasing horizons, stories untold.
Each ascent, a kiss to the sky,
A love affair, no need to ask why.
So let the wind cradle each wing,
As pilots and dreams take to the spring.
In the vast expanse, so high and wide,
They find a home in the endless tide.
Aloha, with the wind's soft kiss,
As dreams of flight persist and bliss.
In the great yonder, where dreams unfurl,
May your journey be a soaring swirl.
very nice!
God bless our blue angels !
Recently bought myself an Citizen ProMaster Skyhawk Blue Angels edition but didn't understand why the suddenly decided to make a BA Edition, I just grabbed it because I happened to like The Blue Angels ever since I was a kid. Makes sense now though!
Go army Beat Navy, You Guys still selling Ice cream ? Also who every played Navy when we were little, It WAS always Army
Oh Heck Yeah! This is going to be EPIC! 👍

Navy, is the new Air Force
🚢 ⚓️ 🚀 🛩
The Air-force fly's aircraft that are the top of the line! As in the Steal or B-2!
All these things that I've done 🔥🔥
Best song
@@Dark_lord107 🔥
Such a great ending to the documentary. They use the song amazingly
Hyped for this
name of the song pls???????
"All These Things That I've Done" - The Killers
I see them every day over my house. Plus working on base. It kinda gets old.
NEW MOVIE IDEA:
let the angels conquest some other countries fighter jet acrobatic. as example "Patroille Suisse" would love to compare these 2 professional teams
These men and women are among our best and they fly aircraft that are combat aircraft. These jets they fly are indeed awesome however it would be as comparing a BMW to a Lamborghini!
So cool!
Very cool docu
Well done, Greg. BZ.
USA has so much money, that they have a entire squadron of top military jet aircraft just for shows. Just to maintain such division is million upon million of dollars.
The Blue Angels are the best recruiting investment the Navy makes. The different military branches all spend millions on recruiting, whether print ads or television commercials. Many, if not most people who enlist in the Navy or become officers, were influenced by the Blue Angels in some way. Especially those joining the Navy to work in aviation.
These folks are training still and when they go back to their Squadrons they are at an unmatched level. To learn to march as they do in the air makes them remarkable indeed! They are not paid extra fool! They still have an enlistment to complete and still train more even after becoming a Blue angel!
Y'all forget the Top Gun theme?
Mt Dream job Period.
Andrew Kramer made those titles?
No Van Halen music???!!!!! Grrrrrrr.
Why not the AI droid fly the airplane for higher show performance ?
JJ Abrams? After the Star Wars sequel debacle? No thanks.
My dad isn't a Blue Angel. He's just the guy who trains them how to not pass out and die while pulling off their stunts.
The only people that train Blue Angels how to perform their maneuvers are other Blue Angels.
@@BullGator-kd6ge They don't teach physiology. That's done by other people.
@@BullGator-kd6ge As a Retired F18 Instructor what you said couldn't be further from the truth, reality.
@@MetaliCanuck I was under the impression that new Angels pilots are already familiar with the effects of G-force and know how to handle them, but are trained through active Navy and/or Blue Angels on how to endure them without a g-suit.
In retrospect I may have misinterpreted OP as they didn’t say their father isn’t in the Navy but rather isn’t a Blue Angel.
This is the 4th aircraft related project in which Glen Powell is involved. First as astronaut John Glenn in Hidden Figures, then Top Gun Maverick and Devotion and now this
Glen Powell sure seems to like planes
@@Chris-qc2kdHe should, he's a pilot.
@@bk1165oh he is? I didn't know that
@Chris-qc2kd he got hooked doing Top Gun and started taking flying lessons. Tom Cruise paid for him to finish his pilots license.
And a naval aviator in all 3 movies.
I flew with the Thunderbirds years ago and broke the sound barrier. We pulled 8gs. It’s a ride I will never forget. I still can’t believe I did it.
awesome
as a civilian, how
@@PrankHouseClark I was invited by the Thunderbirds to fly. When they say it’s once in a lifetime they mean it.
@@willgilbert1969 love it for you man, wish I could get that kind of an experience
Fat Albert even getting a little screen time. Nice.
YE I may own an L-100 & a C-130 and name them Fat Albert.
We all love Fat Albert & the fact it has a female pilot now is awesome!!
@@rswife777it’s in the super hornet c130 is a all men team so far.
Ex RAF Herc ✌️✌️
@@Harp_sealVR I looked it up & you are correct. She only flew for 2 seasons. I had just assumed she was still the pilot. Thanks for the correction.
As someone who works on Pensacola Beach... I'm so lucky I get to see all the shows up close and personal. And they practice over my house. The theater in Pcola is going to be sold out. 💙💛💥
I was thinking the same. I’m local also and we get to see them up close overhead. This Fall it’s going to be packed after this release!
Front row seats ! :-)
My husband PRC (ret) packed many seat pans, parachutes, and numerous survival equipment at the "I" level for the Blues for 11 years. I'm so proud him and his accomplishments. The "Aircrew Survival Equipmentmen"| rate (PRs) has a saying, "We're the Last to Let you Down." He too, served on the USS Kitty Hawk forward deployed in Japan 2001-2004. GO NAVY!! I never get tired of watching, The Blue Angels!
Navy pilots, rule.
Like that guy, i fell in love with aviation at a very young age. Even now, at 13, i know exactly what i want to do and fly. The F/A 18 and than the A380. This is the movie that kids my age need to see, because more and more kids want to be something that we have to many of, like tik toker's, or wrap singers.
So please, Make your kid watch this.
Good luck, bud! I agree with every word you said!
Just watched this movie and found myself looking like this😱 as they flew 18" apart !
🙏🏼 🇺🇸 🦅
Proud daughter of a Navy veteran here. I love the Blue Angels! I started watching them when I was 12. Go Navy!
Oh interesting, so Prime movies *can* be put into theaters... Have you all considered putting Road House in a theater?
Pretty sure the blue angels is based in my city of pensacola, florida.
Yes, 100% so. You need to get down to Pensacola Beach when they do their homecoming airshow demonstration. You can also catch them practicing during certain parts of the year.
@@boatymcboatface4865 I do I see them a lot while driving around town when they are practicing
I've been a fan since seen them in the '70s with the phantom f4's. I'll be excited to see this!
Jesse Brown: “Always wanted to fly. Wanted to fly where the best pilots flew. That'd be the Navy.”
Glen Powell can't get enough of this huh
This stuff never gets old
dude got hooked after top gun lmao
@@Midwest.photographerthats what happened to tommy c… i forgot how many licenses/certifications he has but he can do almost anything in civilian/commercial aviation
Once you’ve felt flight, nothing else comes close to scratching that itch
I was studying to get my private pilot license in high school, but I had to give it up because I was diagnosed with epilepsy and that automatically gets you grounded. Later on during my working career I got a chance to work at Hartsfield International Airport as a contract security officer at both passenger checkpoint and at Northwest Airlines maintenance base, across from Delta jet base back during the 90s. Most fun I ever had during my entire working career. Now retired I find myself looking up every time I hear anything overhead., when the Aviation bug bites it bites hard and for some of us it's for life. I can fully understand why Glenn Powell wanted to do this documentary film ., to this day the scent of jet fuel takes me back to one of the best times of my life.😊
That’s b.s. it’s just going be released on prime video not everybody has prime video
I've had the honor to fly with the Blue Angels twice. It is something I will never forget, and neither will my stomach. At least I didn't have to use the barf bag they gave me "just in case". I came closer to using the barf bag when I first flew with the US Army Golden Knights Parachute Team.
The Killers!!
What is the name from The Killers on the final part of the video ?
@daaavid00 the name of the song is All These Things I've Done.
Who else has the Top Gun movie soundtrack playing in their head while watching these wonderful images?
yes but Tom Cruise can only DREAM of being able to actually handle one of those jets! He likes his motorcycles. lol
If I had a nickel for every time Glen Powell was in some aviation related movie I’d have 4 nickels which is good for me, I hope he continues to to such projects 😉
Tears thru my eyes and goosebumps on my entire body....
Oh F**k yea, I'm excited for this one
Spoiler Alert......... Lens Flares incoming! Thanks J.J.
LOL, Yeah seeing his name was kind of a buzz kill...
LOVE IT🇬🇧🤜🤛🇺🇸
I work for a lady whos father was an actual Blue Angels pilot
Mark the calendars
I got Soul but I'm not a Soldier! The Killers!!!!
I liked that they showed a bit of each pilots story. The lead pilot for the Blue Angels during this demo is married with kids. His wife is a Major in the Marine Corps.
Stoked as hell for this!!!
My good friend trains where the blue angels do their training and he does fly also. I live in the area and get lucky enough to catch them practicing! It is super cool. I as driving last summer and saw them I actually had to pull over to watch! Sooo cool to live over here! Also he my bff is in the navy
My son went to his first blue angels show at 2, and he loved it!! He watches a recorded blue angel show at least once a week, and has the figurines
An absolute "Must See" for this Boomer fan of the Blue Angels, for as long as I can still remember!
trash it
I love seeing The Blue Angels team for the U.S. Navy and the flying shows too.
IMAX Blue Angels will still be the best
A Year In The Life 2.0 Fired up and ready to go!! Glad to be here!
Yes!!!! Only a true, die hard fan knows GLAD TO BE HERE
I saw the blue angels with my Dad at Opa Locka Airport in Miami Florida around 1992-1993.
JJ Abrams trying to copy Joseph Kosinski ( Top Gun Maverick ) Sad, Very Sad.
I LOVE top gun….. but this movie was shot better than top gun in my opinion
My father was in the navy in the 60s av machinist mate, worked on the Ra5c j79 engines for the vigi and the phantoms, he still loves the blues.
There have been so many dumb criticisms lately from clueless people who just found out about this. (1) They have existed since the 1940s. (2) Every notable military in the world has this (e.g. Russian Knights). (3) Flight demo teams are a military tradition that has been around nearly as long as planes have even existed. People who have served in the military actually like military tradition and know about this stuff. You might also be surprised to learn that militaries have bands. Yes, there are non-combat related roles in the military that have to do with a wide range of martial traditions. Just because y’all just recently found out about it doesn’t make it some new trendy thing. Absolutely clueless.
Now that's real TOP GUN 😎😎
I watched these guys in action in El Cajon, CA 2 months ago. I was in AWE And DISBELIEF at the maneuver's they pull off in these jets. Also got too see some incredible jets like the F-35 Lightning OMG!
My dad was an aircraft carrier pilot and XO of the Coral Sea aircraft carrier out of Alameda, and turned down being a Blue Angel due to the time committment. I wish this movie showed their show in San Francisco where every October I always have my sailboat anchored by Alcatraz with a hundred other boats, to watch the air show. AWESOME!! My favorite day of the year. I have a little model of a Blue Angel on board. We love them.
Thank you to your father!
@@lawrencescotthoneycutt9923 why thank you. (I spelled Angel wrong! haha). But thank you so much. This means a lot. My dad was the nicest man in the world and appreciates your thanks.
Saw this in the theater and it was spectacular! Absolutely amazing cinematography and audio work, great soundtrack, and awesome storytelling following outgoing and incoming team members. Loved the look behind the blue curtain into everything the whole organization puts into their mission! Bravo!
I habe ro say looks good. But in theatre's this could have just gone to Amazon Video to be honest 😕
