@@JoeHasGotToGo These are suppose to be FCC legal and not be able to be turned up. I sure people do. I have a President Richard which technically is a10 meter/ or special export. Dead key AM it transmits 12 watts and 18 watts if I whistle.. FM is 40 watts transmit flat dead key and 40 watts no matter how much I shout. The transmit wattage never moves. I just think it is important you understand that radio will never transmit more then 4 watts FM. Where AM it peaks out at 8 watts with a audio driver. Only time I use FM is 26.805 MHz (The FM calling channel) Which is also not FCC legal.
Just got one of these. I'm excited to try it in my log truck! I have a president richard that runs on cb channels, but something is wrong with it so I figured try this.
I own this radio. Very happy !
Good enough and easy to use. Remember AM swings 8 watts with audio load. FM with frequency shift is a flat 4 watts no matter shouting audio.
