'Top Speed Germany' is a German UA-cam channel for people who love cars.
My Name is Max and I film while driving cars. No matter if they are old, fast, loud or electric. They need to be special! With several onboard cams, I record everything important to show you High-Speed-Runs, Acceleration tests ( 0-100 kph / 0-200 kph / 100-200 kph / 200-300 kph ) and test drives on German Autobahn or Road. Please note, Germany is the country of "no speed limit" highways. So in some places, it's allowed to drive very fast. But please don't try this if you are not an experienced driver !! If you enjoy give a like and subscribe for more videos ;-) . - Авто та транспорт
bring more cars like this, the olds pls!!
Old cars best cars
I think so
More reliable than current models.
@@noorazfaruddin467 true!!
Agreed. 👍
When cars were CARS and not a laptop on wheels
I don't think this is a good example of what a car was back in the day.
@@ZimConstantine I personally think that this is a great example. These old Hondas are the best.
@@konstantinoskyriakidis7510 This isn't even a v-tec engine.
It was a mainstream car that was quite forgiving a fun to drive. Obviously only if we talk about the upper trims.
Konstantinos Kyriakidis haha, you realy understand your stuff, this is no vtech
1990s Japanese Cars. Still the apex of automotive engineering.
There’s something about driving a slow-car-fast old car. It’s a certain charm, like you can hear and feel every intake valve suck air in, and you can feel the car’s natural handling characteristics.
I totally understand what your saying, its like the cars alive.
its a live, raw experience...you feel connected to the car, it becomes an extension of yourself, you get a response from every single input...its intoxicating
This is those kind of cars we drive with emotions, heart, sometimes rage, very far from comfy with 400hp and no feeling at all. We live and want to vibe!
Good corner speed in the prelude
Потому что раньше делали для людей неубиваемуюю технику а щяс из фольги говна и пластмассы клепают и моторы говно сегодняшние и все остальное. Одни только кузова четко по безопастности. А хочется хорошие движки!!! Хонда сила)!!!
Old and gold. This is why old Hondas are so loved and appreciated.. smooth and enjoyable to drive.
This generation prelude is honestly still one of the best cars I’ve ever driven!
My Civic EJ coupe was one of the best cars I've ever driven despite having had some much more powerful and expensive cars. The Honda double wishbone suspension all round is what made them so damned good.
I remember when they first came out, such a machine. 👌

Not rly, the MK4 is better IMO , also prefer the mk3 , the B20 what an engine .
Il sell you one lol
This engine sounds so happy, unlike the muted turbo engines we get today.
Or even worse; electric motors 🤮
Yeah I mean a turbo engine is better than the startup at every red light I hear when a hybrid pulls up, or the no sound at all of an electric, with pre programmed HP, Acceleration…want more horsepower pay for the premium race car pass will be the future.
You don't like the whistle and pssssst sound?
I prefer hybrid electric over many autos or run of the mill manuals. They have more fine control imo. I'd love electric too, as long as the chassis feel is right.
@@muneebrehman6288 umm I have a 9th gen civic si and it’s bone stock. I have launch control
I had a 2001 Prelude MT for about 15 years. I absolutely loved that car and was incredibly fun to drive. I would argue Honda's 2.2L VTEC I4 is in the top 10 best engines ever made category.
What I definitely appreciate is how it had 214,000+ miles and still drove like it was brand new. Just incredible.
Funny, I had an 04TSX 6spd manual for 15yrs.....enjoyed the drive every single day. And I still think about the car from time to time.
214k kilometers
The engine was the only lacking part of the car imo. It was a heavy car for a 4 cylinder. I didn’t like how a lot of scenarios forced you out of vtec and it felt like it had no power to get back there
@@roachwerks3043The 2.4L I4 with a manual is a great driving experience. At the time in the 1990s when it came out it was fast as hell compared to the competition. The S2000 which replaced it was faster there is no doubt but that is typicall how it works.
Speaking of the S2000 that car is becoming quite collectable now too.
@@SuperSnakePlissken the prelude was as fast as a minivan from the same time period. It def was not know for its power
I always was in love with the looks of these Prelude's and the smoothness of their engine. i love it. more excited than 2021 craps.
indeed! :)

Im agreed with you,btw how old are u sir?? Im 30+++
2021 cars are good, but yes there is some shit cars
There is so little diversity in 2021 cars. Most of them are inline 4 dohc direct injected with cvt.
best channel. no talking, short videos, pushing to the max
It's amazing how much speed they were able to squeeze out of just 133 hp back then. A low weight and light/small wheels and a fairly aerodynamic and low profile (unlike today's for the most part much taller vehicles), combined with no dumb electronic top speed governors kicking in, made it possible to hit impressive speeds despite just 133 hp.
200hp varies by country japan 240hp amazing motor

I’ve been lucky enough to have had 4 Preludes in my life. 3 4th gens and 1 5th gen. Love the Prelude.
Ohhh love these old japanese cars. Even the lowest engine, this 2l. Is amazing. Try to find a unit with the 2.2 VTEC engine and you'll see the difference...it's brutal!!!Very good video as always!!!
The VTEC is brutal yoooo, we are in 2021 bro, electric cars make the VTEC look like a slow grandpa trash :)

A little silly comment's here. Today's Jazz has the same motor performance as the above Prelude, 130HP and a much-much lighter car. And today's Type R is much-much better than the old Integra or Civic Type R. It has a real sporty engine, while VTEC is the poor man's "turbo". I don't understand the nostalgy, today you can buy much better Honda cars for the money.
What a beautiful car!
Overall those preludes are very neet car too

We really appreciate you taking us for top speed rides with you over there. The variety is what makes your channel so nice.We never know what you'll be driving next. Thanks!
Loved the video. Love to see why Hondas are Hondas. 24 year old car (25 from it's production year), with almost 133k miles, and performing as good as new...just pure quality. Keep the good videos coming!
133HP and 210KPH, that's some good aerodynamics!
No, that's due to max power is in red zone.
My Accord VI have a 147Hp and 220KPH

I’ve owned my 2000 prelude for about 4 years now.. top speed I hit on the 14 freeway in Southern California desert was .. right around 135 mph ! It was a rush .. that car is such a joy to drive ! If Honda brings this back with 2 doors and 3 pedals I would be very interested . But instead they bought back the name of integra and attached it to a basic sedan
Not gunna lie I've had a 91 teg gs was a fun car, a d had the 96 h22a nice car can't handle tight turn way to front heavy and long.
Nice, Honda has the best gearbox and clutch feel out there, matched with their analog vtec early engines makes an awesome driving experience. Still sounds so smooth and rev-happy.
The interior looks good condition for it's age great to see you're still doing standard cars
I agree. Nice quality interior :)
x2 bro, nice stock car
What a lively engine for this old car. Honda makes great cars/engines.
It's incredible how fast it is considering it's just 133hp and weights around 1250kg.
Believe it or not, due to the low hood, the fifth gen Prelude actually has some pretty slippery aero.
I had an 89 integra that was about the same as this around 130-135mph out of 1.8ltrs... tin can on wheels!
I have a 2001 it's 200 hp as far as I know I'm not sure why he wrote 133...
@@SeNniN06 133hp is the stock amount for this specific car. different preludes with the h22 motor have around 200hp. you just have a different model
@@lukem4590 North America didn't get F22B in stock on 5th gen. I'm guessing they did a swap.

210 km/h with such an old banger with only 133 hp - not too bad!

@@audiofiil the real speed should be around 180-190KM/h and it's still pretty good..

Wow didn't expect such smooth and quick acceleration from a 133HP engine.
133 Wheel Horsepower

Still runs great for its time! Really like the design!
"Do not attempt at home"
LOL I do this every day
😲 i can't because my country is México and ways are shit
There’s some seriously fast preludes out there , I had a guy in a black mid 1990s prelude that was completely souped up blow my doors off while I was already doing about 110 mph and he blew by me damn near like I was standing still and shot a blue flame out of the tailpipe with a loud pop he must’ve been doing at least 170mph, I think their kind of underrated considering how much potential they have.
I had a 2001 with the 2.2 h22a vetec . 200hp. It was crazy fast compared to this one. Pulled 240km in no time. Was one of my favorite cars. Love the video
Man also had the H22. I didn’t know the fifth gen came with anything less. Didn’t even watch the video after it said it only had a 2L with 130hp lol skiiimp
@@laska907 why hate on a smaller engine? It was more affordable back then and many ppl could buy one. TO be honest 133 hp are enough to commute on the highway. 🤷🏼♂️
This makes me so glad I own one of these beauties
With 214K on the clock the car is still smooth as silk and pulls past the redline in top gear. Honda made some pretty impressive kit back in the day.
Thank you for the throw back. I drove my buddies brand new prelude in 1998. It was such a nice ride! I love the sound of the v-Tec at 5000 rpm.
When Honda still produced good cars......Gone forever now...
I personally own a 99 type sh with a type S swap and constantly love how fun and reliable these awesome little cars are.
Old is gold , after all this years it can reach the 200 km brilliant manufacturing
So gorgeous! The way it sounds and the simple and clean interior.
as a kid wanting to learn manual this is a great way for me to actually feel like im there keep it up bro
“Bro”? Lol
Excellent video. I used to own this generation of Prelude, same colour with the 2.2 VTi engine. Always fun to drive, the NA engine with VTEC sounds great when worked hard.
This really drives very good and refined for a car of this age!
Classic. Really brings me back thank you
very impressive handling, everything looked so smooth
very impressive for 'just' 130hp shows how good a coupe style is for allowing speed.
Also very short ratios, guessing its the same box as the 2.2 which rev to 8k not 6.5 lol
I always discounted the 2.0s because i thought theyd be alot slower than this showed. and now theyre classics and nowhere to be found. oh well
They have slightly different gear ratios.
2.0 gears are longer than the h22 ones.
I thought Preludes had 200hp though. That's what mine had

"come on tiny engine keep going keep going!"
You'll never get the same feeling with new cars sadly.
*sigh*
2 + letter twin cams is actually bigger then most cars now use single cam 1.4 turbo etc so back then cars were more powerful actually lol
Just something about ripping an old school car at 4k through redline is so satisfying. I love it.
It may not be the fastest but a testament to the quality and build finish this car is so smooth at he higher speeds for an older Japanese car. Love it. Thanks for driving it for us!
The fastest that i've ever went in my '99 prelude was between 140-145 mph going down a hill. Obviously, i couldn't stare at the speedo but i did see it was almost maxed. That was almost 20 years ago, I've never been anywhere near that fast ever since.
Me too in a 99 type sh with 3 passengers! 🤣
I have 2 Ludes h22a & the other has h23a love em both

I've managed to reach 215 according to speedometer with Accord VI 1.8 100kw/136hp. It has hit fuel cut off at 5th gear, maybe it could go a little bit faster, but not with original gearbox. I believe it is possible with Prelude as well, btw, nice ride!
I love the simplicity of the interiors of 90s cars
Exterior and interior of this model are spot on point...
At some point, that was my dream car...
This was actually my first car. I’ve bought many vehicles since and none of them compare to the fun of this thing.
Had one of these but the 2.2VTI, lovely car to drive way ahead of its time. I now have a Fiesta ST which is very fun but on longer rides i miss the old honda.
I'm on my 3rd Honda and my first was an 88 Prelude Si 2.0. I still miss that car. It didn't have a lot of horsepower on paper, but you really felt it when the VTEC kicked in. It was the handling that I really loved about it though. Probably the most agile car I've ever owned, and the low-slung seating position made it feel more dramatic. It would have been a blast to drive on the Autobahn. I studied in Germany in 99 and was on Autobahns a few times, but only as a passenger and my friends had tiny economy cars, like Fiat Puntos and VW Polos that felt like they were going to fall apart every time a BMW or Mercedes swooshed past. That's how I learned to swear in German. lol
Hondas really are amazing though. It's wild to think that Soichiro Honda started out as a mechanic selling piston rings to Toyota as a side hustle. He came up with the idea of hooking up the motors from surplus generators to bicycles and that was the birth of Honda Motors. They didn't even make cars until decades later and now look at them, making some of the best cars in the world. And that aforementioned 88 Prelude had 250k+ miles on it when I sold it, and my friend that bought it said it was still running great when he sold it with more than 300k miles on it.
I remember seing one of these in my father's friend's wrecking yard, a golden/beige example laying under a 2006 Cadillac DTS and two 80s Fiat Unos... I didn't see it again when I got back there last month. Let's hope he just moved it in another part of the yard... back when Japanese cars had a sense... 😶
I got the 210 hp version of this h22. Goes quick. Tops out at 260 km with speed limiter removed. 0/100km 5.8 seconds
