Kids dont really respect if you can flow over a beat anymore. Look at mumble rap and all that shit. And its like that with the battle scenes to, the battle scene nowdays are like some weird shit. Some of these dudes be taking like a year to respond, back in the day like it was on neither side was scared. Nowadays its just like 2 dudes yellin at eachother like theyre sayin something but if ur not like in the soap opera battle scene half the shits just gunna go over ur head. I dont like the kids battling either that fat arab kid talks mad shit, and he even swung on someone.. The best rhymers are the ones that dont get flustered, and now when u watch battles they cant even restrain themselves, theyre screaming and sweatin. And notice, none of these battle rappers like that arab kid who beat canibus where his ablums at? where are his songs at? nowhere you know why? because he sound like shit over beats lmfao. The rap battle scene died around the same time turntablism and all that shit died. Skribble jams and shit. All that shits dead. If ur not rhyming over a beat to me ur just spitting some poetry, some poetry jam shit or whatever idk wtf they call that shit, but thats what it really is.... you can call it battling if u want but thats not what battling originally was. You jus wanna take that shit and call it battling because its to hard to rhyme and have people battling over beats, fuck that. It aint a battle then.
Also no real flow to the battle raps nowadays because of the accapella factor. Now it's actually more like spoken word and could not flow perfectly over a beat in many cases.
