I really enjoyed this video. A book suggestion that you may enjoy is called, "Hagitude" by Sharon Blackie. It is about reclaiming the second half of life. Too often everything is focused on the younger women, or mothers, while those of us going into our middle years and even older, are left out, brushed aside, or merely forgotten. Its a great book full of older women in folklore. It is very moving and uplifting.
Thank you so much for watching (and commenting). I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Thank you also for the book recommendation; as a woman in her 40s that sounds like something I really need to read! I think this part of life is dumbed down for women because really that's when we're at our most knowledgeable and powerful... Hope you've had a great week. Love and blessings. x
I have a book addiction and I feel I just might have to buy some more now! I find reading tricky sometimes as I tend to scan read, a bad habit I picked up at university. It surprises me how much information I can take in from doing that though. I love the look, feel and smell of books. I would love to write my own book someday. Thank you for another great video! 😊
Oh no! I'm so sorry, I hope this video doesn't hurt your purse too much! 😅 I used to be able to scan read, and I can physically do that with my eyes, but I'd take nothing in. Ha! It's great that you have that skill, very useful! 😁
It’s always interesting to see what other witches have on their bookshelves. I bought ‘Intuitive Witchcraft” as an ebook and loved it so much that I also bought a hard copy. I don’t find anything unusual about your way of doing reviews, probably because I used to do them the same way. I routinely read more than one book at a time so there’s no way I could ever remember all major points about each when writing.
I'm really looking forward to Intuitive Witchcraft, and I think it puts a whole different spin on it when you know the author! What do you think you'll read next? ❤
@@the_cemetery_witch Well, I just finished Sharon Blackie’s Foxfire, Wolfskin and other Stories of shape shifting women, which was brilliant! I hope to read more from her at some point. Currently, I’m enjoying Botanical Folktales of Britain and Ireland and because one can never have enough good stories, there’s also Storyland: a new mythology of Britain in the queue. I have a soft spot for most things Welsh, so after I read a review of it, I bought Sarn Helen by Tom Bullough. It’s non+fiction and an interesting mix of history, travelogue and climate change analysis. I havea number of books on pre-order but I’ve already forgotten most of them, so those will be nice surprises throughout the summer!
So interesting to see what you read and what you take inspiration from. I received a couple of witchy books for Christmas. Thank you for another lovely video. x
Ooooh what did you get?! Only share if you feel comfortable, of course. ❤I'd like to have more time to read, I feel that summer is going to be that time. ❤ x
@@the_cemetery_witch Yes of course, I asked for The Magical Year by Danu Forest and a big hard back book, A History Of Magic, Witchcraft and The Occult with a foreword by the historian Suzannah Lipscomb who's work I really enjoy. I've not read the big book yet but read lots in the first one mentioned. I don't like much of anything to do with the darker side of the Occult though, I'm so interested in Mother Nature, the wheel of the year and white witchcraft, spreading love, light, positivity and protection where I can. xx
@@northangel30leather6 I know the second one you mention, though I don’t have it myself. I totally understand where you are coming from, I believe that we should be very careful what we put out to the universe, and I myself always choose to do no harm. 🙏🏼♥️ Wishing you a lovely evening!
I'm also the same way with reading, thae past I would read every chance I had. Over the last 7 years or so I fund it hard, memory, stress, concentration and distraction. Needing to reread paragraphs or sentences over more than twice at times.
I just realized I've seen this video and commented already! That's OK though! I enjoyed watching it! ❤ I think I've added some of these books to my own wish list!
It might be UA-cam mucking you around. I'm pretty sure I've replied to these comments already and yet they ended up in my "review" pile with no answers to them... YT is a funny beast, sometimes!
@@the_cemetery_witchyoutube has been giving me some trouble over the last few months. I usually get likes and/or replies on my comments, but it suddenly stopped! I went back on some video's and seen that some people were replying. I googled how to fix it on the computer while using my phone to go step by step with the instructions on computer. Right now I'm only getting notified on replies, but not the likes snd I don't know how to fix that. Plus my computer will only play certain video's but not all, I use that since the screen is bigger, but a few people I'm subbed to I can only watch on my phone! I rewatched this one as I'm trying to find a certain book you talked about and rewatching your video's to find it! My memory isn't the greatest.
Great video! I've added a good number of these books to my wish list 😊 Lovely pendant you have there as well. Thank you for sharing a bit of your collection with us! ✨️📚
Ahhh thank you so much, I really hope you enjoy them. Maybe at the end of the year we can compare notes! I'm currently reading the book I shared on Ancestor Veneration, I can't remember if this is in this video or the Avebury book haul, but it is giving me a lot to think about. I hope you're keeping safe and well - wishing you a beautiful weekend ahead! :) xx
Just subscribed to your channel from IG! Just started watching this video, so Nanyang similarities! Always had my nose in a book growing up and up til about 15 years ago. Same issues, stress, concentration and my heart among other things. But starting up again with reading more! Looking goeward to finishing this video now!
Thanks for subbing and watching, bless you. I really appreciate it. The fascinating thing about witchcraft books is there's SO MANY - it's really interesting to see what other people's choices are, even if they don't end up being books they enjoy by the time they've read them. I'm really sorry to hear that you struggle with similar issues to me - I wonder how much of it is also hormonal... I'm glad to hear that you are pushing yourself and reading more; I'm finding that it really does help. Wishing you much love and blessings, have a great weekend.
What a great video. I always love witchy book reviews. It would be amazing to see a tour of all your witchcraft books. I only came across your UA-cam page the other day. I'm amazed I haven't came across your channel before as I follow alot of witchy youtubers and never seen your channel pop up till now. I'm excited as you are from the UK and so am I, and I'm always looking for new witchy youtubers to watch. If you have any recommendations of other great channels, that would be great.
Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I will do a tour one day; at the moment our books are packed up because we have been decorating. How did you find this channel, out of interest? I don't tend to watch witchy UA-camrs, and instead watch a lot of true crime and paranormal things as watching UA-cam is my break from working! :)
I think I came across you looking for witchy book reviews. I love watching paranormal videos too. That is what I mainly watch when not catching up on the witchy videos. I love Sam and colby, paranormal TV and twin paranormal are some of my favourites.
This is the 2nd time watching the video...I have a books to get list...I can understand what you mean with reading...an unknown secret..I should be wearing glasses..but, haven't had time to get my eyes rechecked...I still will buy books...but, like what you said...the books are like reference books...old school..note wrong with that....I am following authors on Instagram...and believe it or not..I have been inspired to write a book myself..(right now..that's just an idea I have been thinking about..but it may be awhile)....I like the books you have....I am watching this on March 22..and saw this on March 21, too...thank you Wren..you're an inspiration to me and a mentor to me, too💜
Oh wow, thank you for reading it twice, Daniel, I’m glad it was helpful to you! You should ABSOLUTELY write a book! Are you able to share what your book would be about? (No pressure to answer this, of course), I would definitely buy it! 🎉🎉🎉
Right now...doing any book is an idea..but, something that I am seriously considering...but, I have some ideas floating in my head..so to speak..so, at this point in time, I would rather not say in case I choose something else to write about.....my life could be a book because no one would believe how things have changed...but, again right now...I get a lot of inspiration from others I follow on inspiration...so, pursuing a dream of writing a book I hope will actually be reality...but, again I would rather not say anything just yet...it's in construction mode...
