I agree with most things you said, except the coordinated positioning, you seem to be neutral towards it, but in my opinion, it's one of the best abilities in the game. 2 times PER ENCOUNTER, you can switch places with an entity, not only this allows you to quickly join the combat, but it also has uses like: Your melee characters are blocked and can't move → you use this ability to change places with an enemy (even better if you choose a spellcaster), which allows you to end the fight more quickly, and make your melee characters useful again. Your rogue has low HP → you use the ability on the furthest enemy, or an ally with full health, which allows you to either heal and join the melee battle again (maybe using this ability again), or switch to a range weapon. Your ally has low Hp → you use the ability and save them, by switching places. There is an enemy caster and your rogue is either on the frontline, or behind your frontline → you use the ability, on said caster, which renders him vulnerable to your frontline, and your rogue ends up close to enemy's other range characters/casters, WHICH allows for a quick extermination of the weakest (in terms of defences and hp), and strongest (in terms of damage and utility) enemies. Although the 4m reach looks bad, it's usually good enough to make this ability useful as hell. But other than that, it was a great video.
Also if you use backstab and stealth you can hit the backstab and then switch with your tank asap, doesn't make backstabbing that much more useful, but it does provide a use-case Also for backstabbing, you can have your rogue stay back, then sneak around combat to find a prime target, as long as they aren't spotted before they engage it should work
@SlanderedGaming yeah, I assumed it worked for sneak attacks, never checked. But it definitely does count towards Deathblows. Its the bread and butter of every Triple Crown Solo rogue build I've seen.
I love my rogues! I play them on PotD, ranged first, +crit chance as much as possible. I usually retrain at level 7 to dual wield and add some mobility. I think bloody slaughter is a must have for the rogue, but I also have it on all my casters!
Agreed almost entirely on your thoughts on Rogue. It's a glass canon single target boss killer that needs an optimal party around them to maximize its potential and cover for its flaws. Though I'm a bigger fan of the class than you are, doing whatever it takes to win no matter how dirty or dishonorable is perfectly fine for me as I'd rather be alive than dead because I wanted a fair fight and I like my guile heroes. Deadfire with it's multiclassing and subclasses makes it much better and something like say Swashbuckler can be absolutely devastating.
Got to say when i saw the death godlike it the start of the video all i could think about was small Keanu Reeves, cool, adorable and funny all in one and i love it 😆❤
AH crap I just realized why you made that comment. How did that sneak in?! I cut it out but it will take a while for UA-cam to process the change. Thanks for letting me know!
This may be an unpopular opinion but I found rogue to be the least useful class of the game. It shares "good at boss killing but requires micromanagement" role with monk but performs worse most of the time and kinda feels more annoying to play (to me personally). It also shares fighter's thing of being very focused class without being as handy. Honestly, the only time I enjoyed this class was during my solo pacifist run (for the achievement), which is ironic considering rogue's supposed role. Now, in PoE2 this class is much better, especially as part of multiclass. Oh, and good video as always! Keep it up.
A one trick pony where the trick is being a glass cannon. I run Rogues as ranged because they just die in melee. It's disappointing because they definitely have more damage potential as two weapon melee.

Oh nice thank you for adding that context. The four meters really threw me off but seems like it's not that bad in practice.

Persistent distraction is great as it DOES count towards the double affliction requirement for Deathblows
Really it does? Weird that they would make it not count for Sneak Attack but still trigger Deathblows. That absolutely makes it worthwhile then.

Oh yeah Bloody Slaughter is amazing with this class.

😂😂
I’ve heard that deep wounds, like the wounding effect on weapons, stacks with itself upon successive hits, but I’ve never tested it.
aw yeah I'm on my rogue playthrough aiming to finish game for the first time was wondering about this video : P Love your voice.
Thank you!
Escape is much better in Pillers of Eternity 2 because it works as a teleport. It really help to get to the spell casters behind the tanks.
Agreed it's fantastic in Deadfire.
It's also a teleport in PoE 1. Has a range of 8m.
Let’s jump into the 10th class of the series, rogue.
You can say that again.

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video and yeah I don't care for the class personally.
