I often use diatomaceous earth and it can kill a few worms. The best trick I've found is not to put too much material inside the vermicompost. Only once every 2 weeks I add eggshells, ground coffee, frozen bananas and sometimes small pumpkins (about the equivalent of 1/2 liter of milk). That's it and they're all happy. I've been doing this for about 2 years and the end result is excellent!👍
Thank you for this! I don’t mind mites and think overall they can be helpful but my toddler absolutely loves the worms and I don’t exactly love him pickup the worms/castings and then getting mites on him 😂😬
Hey I'm looking to add fungi to my worm bin everytime I get a bag of magic mushrooms I sprinkle some stuff in I know that some magic mushrooms are vam fungi though what's a good way to add or keep fungi in bin?

Happy to hear that they can live in harmony with each other! I have found some slugs in mine. I have simply removed them and placed them outside.
If you add it how long should you leave it in there before you remove it

I AM GROWING SHITAKE MUSHROOM ON SAW DUST BUT LATELY NOTICED SOME TINY WORMS. Hiw do I kill them without harming the mycelium ?

The easiest way is to make sure your vermicompost has woody material in it.
