Nice to see people starting to appreciate 90s comics a bit more. For years people were so negative about them but they were my entry into comics and I thought they were amazing.
This was such a wholesome video. Tom obviously takes a lot of pride in his collection and it seems like y'all had such a nice time visiting. Maybe I missed it, but why was Tom selling his collection?
Collectors like Tom tend to really take care of the books they buy. Glad to see you both enjoying the hobby you love. Hopeful, that there are many more gems yet to be found. All the best.
Just out curiosity, how many books were in this collection, how much did you pay for it? Just want to get a feel for how you guys price bulk collections. Thank you!
That was quite the modern collection, with a sprinkle of some pretty good Copper and Bronze Age books. Plus, all the autographed books with COAs. That's the type of collection you dream about getting.
Nice collection of comics. I wonder why Tom wanted to unload what seemed to be a well maintained collection. You guys are doing excellent with these hauls purchases lately!
Thank you so much! I am not exactly sure why he wanted to sell but I am very happy & feel lucky that he gave us the opportunity! Have a great weekend 😁
Wow! I am a massive, massive Crow fan. I have some limited stuff and got to meet James O' Barr and he signed a few things for me but that collection is amazing! Wow! Great video guys, loving the content!
The Sam Keith Hulk signed on the inside has a similar story to one of mine. I was going through my Hulk McFarlane run a month ago and found his signature on the first page of #339. Apparently Todd used to go into one of the LCs in my area and discreetly sign books on the inside and then put them back on the shelf.
Comics ... AWESOME!!!Question...a near mint mad magazine is perfect all over... except the folded back cover...to reveal the picture puzzle within. If graded how much will graders subtract for final grade?
Thanks so much! It really depends on how the rest of the book looks but most of the time if its a color breaking bend it will drop the grade a decent amount.
The condition of some of these issues looks better than modern day ones I pick up at shops now . I got carnage #1 and wasn’t warned about a tear and it’s killing me
Very nice collection,I'm after that hulk 449 for my personal collection ive yet to find a copy in the wild.I don't know what those white covers spiderman/thor/dr strange were but they look amazing.🔥🔥
I found a Hulk #449 last week I'm going through long boxes and the gut only wanted $2.00 a book and u found lots of keys but the big boys was I got 2 copies of Batman Adventures #12,iron man#282, sensational she hulk#1,superboy#9,batman#635,batman#567,Ams#430,431,tales of tmnt#4, and I know there is at least 1k worth of books.
Local dealer has some silver age comics and l am watching videos like yours automatic comics , e t a Nick how to pick out and grade books like watching out for creases spine ticks etc.
You got some awesome books, but I wouldn't sell them all and keep the ones that mean something to you.Its weird I been collecting for 15 years and I only got 3 short boxes and a half a short box but they are all keys, rare variants and cool cover art.
While a haul video can be fun, without knowing what you paid (not just you, but anyone that posts haul videos) it feels like an incomplete video. It isn't Ike I can compete and offer the seller more (as I'm not there) and if you bought if for a "song", good for you. If you paid too much, that is our opinion (which doesnt matter - if you paid it, it was worth it to you). Keep it, retail it or whatever you want with 'em (I know viewers would be interested in what you paid - to "round out" said video).
Also would love to know how many boxes/ comics and how much you guys paid to compare to what we should be looking to pay if we stumble apon a collection like this.
@@adamwilson6689 . I think it’s complicated. Sometimes it’s private dealings, sometimes there is enough people to whine and cry about how much/little was paid, not just a competition thing. I bet it can be very frustrating. I feel I can learn from how much was paid, but honestly I don’t think videos like this really show that off in a way that allows you to take the information and apply elsewhere. If that’s not the reason, then I can easily see it falling under the category of NOYB.
@@davidgranby23 . I think that can be really great in for, but truthfully it can vary a lot by collection. Keys, even minor ones can affect the value substantially, and we don’t have a clue what the makeup of the collection is here, so it may not be too helpful with a “total” price. I think what would be a useful to share would be the approximate price they assign to run filler and maybe even percentage of value for keys. You could use that as a metric to ballpark a collection.
We sell thousands of comics every month so naturally we cant read everything but when we find something interesting or that we have not heard of we will pick it up. Think of it like a chef at a restaurant or a car dealer at a lot. Of coarse you can try the food and test drive the cars but not every day .
Maybe I missed it, but did they disclose the price paid for the Collection? Or is it a "private" matter, which I can respect.
Without showing negotiation and price it’s just a nice video of someone’s collection and carrying boxes to car.

Awesome videos!!! Keep it up! Honestly out of all the comic related shows I’ve seen on UA-cam, you do it the best!
I would call this a home run! Great collection! Thanks for sharing!

Woe! What a great collection. That Crow print is amazing 👏
Awesomeness ♥️
Great video. Kinda sad though when folks sell off their whole collection. I know they’re cashing in, but you can get attached to your comics.

Ill take Spawn 95-on! Already have the earlier books.
Ooo, and Lady Death.

@@TheComicsDen I am still on the hunt for my two grail books Amazing Spiderman#129 and TMNT#1 but they are super expensive.
I have the x force with double cards
Will you be selling the spawn run as a set ?
I plan on keeping it for now.

Do y’all pay for these large collections in cash or cash app?
Do you guys actually read the comics you buy?. Or do you just look at the covers?
We sell thousands of comics every month so naturally we cant read everything but when we find something interesting or that we have not heard of we will pick it up. Think of it like a chef at a restaurant or a car dealer at a lot. Of coarse you can try the food and test drive the cars but not every day .
These are flippers/dealers, not collectors for the purpose of reading. If they were in it for the covers, they probably just buy slabbed books.
Interested in buying another collection?
You might like what I have.
You might be surprised.
Did y'all buy his whole collection?
Yes we did.
selling comics is hard because the seller only wants to sell for huge money
for the same reason its hard to buy comics
how much......
